as a former cosmetologist i can say: yeah about the not shampooing thing. what it is that we tend to set our shampooing schedule during puberty when our hair is mega greasy. shampooing dries out your scalp and hair so when you’re going through puberty it helps balance things out. but as you get older and your hormones settle down you actually don’t need to shampoo as much. what’s happening is your hair has gotten used to being stripped of oils due to constant shampooing so it’s overcompensating and trying to give you more. so if you stop shampooing for the first week(s) your hair is still expecting you to strip it of it’s oils with shampoo. after a while it realizes that’s not happening anymore and the oil production slows down in response. personally i only shampoo my hair once in a blue moon and that’s to clarify/clear my scalp. whenever i tell people this tho they look at me like i’m crazy. 🤷🏻♀️ i just use a co-wash most days and my hair has never been healthier.

My scalp gets really itchy if I havent shampooed it in a while. It also makes my hair fall out more so I'm kinda scared to try doing this. I have skipped the shampoo and gone straight to conditioner occasionally for a little scent boost + moisturizer though. My hair feels a little weird after that
@@repulsethemonkey1396 Idk if this helps you at all but when my scalp starts feeling itchy I do an apple cider vinegar rinse (I use the Bragg brand and dilute with water) and it always helps soothe my scalp. I don't shampoo or condition after this.
When I really feel like I need to shampoo I first use Lily of the Valley aloe vera gel and rub it into my scalp &hair and then wait about an hour or two before rinsing it out and follow with a gentle shampoo and conditioner (I use Oribe brilliance &shine for both).
Obviously, everyone is different though so what works for me might not work for you but maybe this will help someone :)

If I'm being honest its probably bc country style genuinely looks good. Its just worm by assholes, usually. Its also SO comfortable and practical, man. I never understood why people wore cowboy hats or ball caps until I finally put one on 💀

kurtis! you shoud do hot oil treatments :) literally just heat up castor oiil and leave it on ur hair for like three hours before showering, then only shampoo enough to get the oil out, and then condititon, and keave the conditioner in your hair fir as long as u can while showering
Have you tried Aloe Vera Gel? My husband has dandruff too, and once a week I rub aloe gel in his scalp and then he washes it out. It also helps define your curls!
do you know if its okay to use on people who don't have dandruff? like will it do any harm? ive been looking for a better hair product for my curls :}

Can be due to excessive washing, dry/cold air, basically the same as regular skin. Dandruff however is usually due to (fungal) infection or actually too much oil on the scalp. Both require different treatments! Source: my hairdresser, I guess she would know...

hey!! long time dandruff sufferer here. I've found that pouring apple cider vinegar on my scalp and the rest of my hair not only gets rid of dandruff but also strengthens split ends! I pour it on after shampoo and before conditioner :)
