Women typically get it pretty bad on social media platforms, but twitch being so male centric really brings out the worst in people for some reason. Poki is pretty uncontroversial, consistent, hardworking, and a trend setter for the platform, but has received horrific hate for the entire time she has streamed. Even now her mods are very busy removing inappropriate messages on her streams.
I think it’s improved for her a bit in the past year or so but for some reason people just viscerally hate her for being successful I guess. Wish it didn’t happen, she doesn’t even remotely deserve the level of hate she receives relative to other streamers
