    Honestly, even if the crime a person is accused of is truly heinous, everyone must be looked upon with the presumption of innocence- particularly when we don't have a single detail outside of the charges. This isn't just fundamental, it's a right we all possess. We don't offer the presumption of innocence only to people charged with crimes we find acceptable or righteous or to the people we like or with whom we identify. I firmly believe that LE and an overzealous prosecutor get it wrong more than they get it right in cases like these. That's my opinion based on anecdotal evidence and thousands of hours of reading police reports, trial transcripts, and case law.
    Some of the people are likely guilty. And gross. Some are not. It's not fine to sacrifice innocent people because some may be guilty.

    • @mateohodge6998
      @mateohodge6998 3 місяці тому +21

      Very true it's supposed to be the state's job to prove guilt without a reasonable doubt if he's getting guilty people off then that means they were being lazy and not actually doing their jobs.

    • @cattfink5036
      @cattfink5036 3 місяці тому +3

      @@mateohodge6998 right? The meaning of reasonable doubt seems to have been watered down to a preponderance of evidence, which is truly devastating. The importance of the jury in criminal trials cannot be overstated. Only if they're legitimately impartial and have a rock-solid understanding that the defendant on trial is simply accused, but remain guilt free in the eyes of justice, unless the prosecution can poke so many holes through the veil of innocence that it so thoroughly rips apart into more open gaps than solid material.
      It isn't given as a jury instruction and technically isn't supposed to be considered, but I think it's important that jurors keep in mind that the prosecution has the resources of the government and LE, as well as more time to dedicate to their cases than the defense (in the vast majority of scenarios). It's also important to keep in the back their minds that many judges have never served as defense attorneys - they were either elected or appointed out of the prosecutor's office. If they were elected, they may have a race upcoming and they're using your trial- your liberty for campaign material.

      I mean this is fine you straight up have 0 life experience and can't discern if someone is malicious or not. You just have to take one good look at these people to realise they're guilty. Either way, it's not "some are guilty some aren't", most people being charged are guilty, the innocent are the exception. Especially if you're white and being charged.

      I agree. I am a prison abolitionist as well and I also have COMPLETE distrust of the state-controlled justice system. Yes there are some real bad people out there, but shit I do not want that handled by the state. Subversion of the state and the criminal justice system is paramount.
      Unless he defends cops.... that I'll make an exception to say "fuck em"

    • @cattfink5036

      @@Istanbul0687 with you. Super with you. I believe that the entire criminal justice system should ultimately be razed, reimagined, and replaced by community led, community care and safety focused programs. Obviously, that's not the whole picture and not something that would happen at once, rather over time - incrementally.
      Until then, we have to make justice the goal of the system we live under. That's not easy when true crime, legal dramas, social media copaganda bullsht, the freaking news, elected officials ...are all more than happy to participate in dismembering the idea due process granted by 5th & 14th.
      Being arrested is easy. Very little evidence, often no evidence beyond an accusation, is required. Leading up to the trial, unless you have money, the criminal justice system will not treat you as an innocent person accused of a crime. The public should.

      That mindset is ALSO incorrect. Some of his clients COULD be innocent, but most SEEM guilty based on their interviews after the fact. However they may still be innocent, and (more likely) they could have acted innocent UNTIL they got off with help from a talented lawyer. Not to mention, you don't even need a jury to get every case dismissed. Anyone could be falsely accused, but most innocent people don't brag about it this way afterwards, but a jury wouldn't know that until after the case.

    after the h3h3 P&P dude, i thought all this type of content would be funny. but seeing a dude fully proud and fine with defending a guy who SA'd a child, thats darker than i could have imagined for this kind of content. like ive seen how these shock value videos go, but that one isn't just shocking; it's absolutely infuriating. the lawyer should be ashamed. it'd be funnier if it was some stupid DUI shit that didn't get anyone hurt but the idiot who almost went to jail, if it wasn't for the silly tiktok lawyer. but in this case, it's like....dude you fucking suck for defending these people for insane crimes LMAO

    I’m ngl if he’s getting some of these peoples cases dismissed when the accusations are this bad there was probably something wrong with the case. Every one deserves a fair trial no matter what. I hate this type of content cause it makes defense attorneys out to be bad people when in reality most of the time the system is completely designed against his clients.
