Next time you come to Jeddah, hit me up and I will show you things you didn't even imagine was in Saudi Arabia. I'm an American that's lived here in Saudi for 7 years and I love it here.
Why do they drive badly? no strict driving laws?
@@Syllaeus lol Actually it’s too strict in Saudi Arabia and traffic law is enforced mostly by AI cameras everywhere that can give you tickets for seatbelts, holding a phone, speeding, crossing the yellow lines and illegally overtaking turns but these cameras do not cover everything completely and people see them.
We set up the data centre there.
And will never go there again...they had religious police in the office and non muslim were 2nd class citizen
Religion is a man made atrocity Not the choice of Allah
@@Syllaeus it is a little bit strict but no one really care and it is a big problem I hope it get better
Edit: I think it need to get more strict like taking away the license instead of high price penalties
Don’t go near this guy Gab, he is a murderer probably…
2:10 I’m pretty sure that this isn’t the place you’re looking for, actually, the tallest building, The Kingdom tower is located on the northern part of the city in a place called “Obhur Alshamalia”.
I love your videos and I hope that you would come back again and I would absolutely love to show you around different parts of city. I’m Saudi and I live in Jeddah ✌️
I just watched your video and I'm from Riyadh, and let me tell you that you haven't seen anything in Saudi Arabia yet, but I hope that you will re-visit and that your visit will be coordinated to see the landmarks of Saudi Arabia better.. You are always welcome
In Saudi Arabia life starts in night because of day heat, and you must go to Al-Balad area in corniche jeddah , both in new balad for modern sights and old balad for traditional jeddah. You can talk to young people boys and girls they are very welcoming.
Thank you Gabriel for showing us whole world. Peace and Love to you.
I lived in Saudi back in the early 80's. Your videos bring back such wonderful memories. I definitely want to go back now. Great work!
In the 80s the road in jeddah had no street name...english speakers non existant...
Where in the US, you are expected to bring back your Rental Car with a full tank of Gas, in Saudi, it is the Opposite. You get the vehicle with little to no gas, and you can return it the same way. This is why they've built more Gas stations near the King Fahad Airport in Dammam, because people were running out of gas, before they could get to the gas station, after leaving the Airport.
Isnt is kinda stupid to do it that way ? The way its done in the US seems more reasonable in my opinion!
@You tube Censorship Full tank when u get it, full tank when u leave it !
@You tube Censorship Yeah in saudi arabia they get almost empty tank and they are expected to leave it with almost empty tank
Hey gabriel just wanted to let you know google map didnt direct you to jeddah tower at all, actually it directed you to completely far location, if you want to see jeddah tower type (Jeddah Economic City) it should give you a location up north near the sea and compounds
I am Moroccan and saudi Arabia has become on top of my bucket list.although lot of ignorant people talk shit about this country ,but they gotta go there clear up the shit .it s the best place on earth and people are just amazin
Thank you Gabriel for visited my country and I hope you had some fun❤️
Oh your vedios bring me back my memories in Jeddah I been there 10 yrs.now 3 yrs I'm Dammam alkhobar.im so glad there is a tourist like u fr us.
GABE buddy keep doing your best and bringing us cool travel vlogs. 😎👍🏻🎸
Awesome video Gabe! Thank you for showing us videos from Saudi Arabia. Hope you can come back here someday!
Hi Gabriel, Amazing day trip there is so much to see I could see you going back to really taking a look around they must be so unique historical sites and things to enjoy.
So amazing to say check Saudi Arabia off of your list Gabe!!!! I love how enthusiastic you are about every culture you come across. I saw that people didn’t think much of Jeddah but people need to remember that this country is very reserved and strict about many things the West is not.
I like how you respect the rules of every country you visit. Respect Man 🙏
Yes, he is a rare American... most of them are obnoxious, and Snobbish when visiting foreign lands....🙂🇺🇸
@@kaypee4704 some, not most
@@kaypee4704
And you know this is how “most” Americans are how exactly?
@@kaypee4704 Lies
I've only travelled to 30+ countries, but a non-obnoxious American tourist is the exception, rather than the rule. Just my experience, just anecdotal, but some people are best avoided. Really not a fan of the man-child archetype of pretentious, patronising and rowdy American tourists. Canadians on the other hand, they're cool!
Gabriel , You are on top of the World ! Have a Great Time in The UK and catch ya later …
Thank You for All Your Travels and Videos !
Really interesting, amazing roads. 👍😊
@11:40 this terrain reminds me of the transition of deserts between AZ and CA specifically climbing the grade of the 8 FWY into the hills of eastern San Diego county from the desert below
I love that you are traveling Saudi Arabia! It helps us (the viewers) to know it’s safe and that its an awesome country to visit! I wonder if it would be different for women travelers? It’s so clean and the trees are maintained/manicured! I’m it is very clean! More so than the US!
Thanks for the videos!
Glad to see you visit Saudi Arabia. The middle east has always peaked my interest. Keep up the travels and stay safe out there. Still loving the content after all these years. ✌
It’s piqued your interest. People never ever get the difference between peek, peak, pique. I know you can do this.
You should’ve went to different places tbh, especially in Jeddah. You’ve sadly missed a lot. I hope you come back for another visit. Keep it up
Yes i noticed many travelers struggle to find the best and most iconic places in Saudi Arabia. I guess we need local guides.
Gabe you are a wonderful person and thank you for all the amazing videos
I worked in Saudi Arabia (Buraydah) from August to November in 1986 putting up Center Pivots. It was hot but surprisingly bearable. I attribute it to the low humidity.
that's correct. however all arabia is somehow bearable in summer if you're out in the desert rural or country side , even small cities are ok. problem is only in the big cities where heat doubles .
It’s my city and yes it’s so hot but you can handle it. Thanks for everything you've done in my city gary❤️
Hey Gabriel, what a wonderful video. There for a while I thought I was back home in the Imperial Valley in Southern California. That clime up that mountain was almost exactly like going from El Centro to San Diego on I-5. Where you stopped at the top and showed the cell towers, thats exactly what they have done in Southern California.
I have been to Saudi Arabia before but only to catch another plane and never got out of the airport. I must make an effort to go and spend a few days.
Those "Monkeys" you saw were Baboons and they have adapted to the harsh climate but I think they stay mainly in the mountain area.
Watching this video again! Great constant commentary that is much needed for the full effect other than being there in person, your choice of music is great.. ..the music breaks you add along with partial intros intermission and outros are on point! I am now quite interested in going to half of the places you've visited. No one does it quite like you Gabe!! That's for sure. Keep em coming!! Thanks.
Sweet, glad to hear it. New video done, will post it sometime soon.
That was a blue-headed agama lizard! They're so cute!
Breathtaking!
Fascinating place. If there is one way to describe it it’s “work in progress”. worth a visit in coming years.
You are welcome in Saudi Arabia. I know there will be some different people in your way, but make sure that they will do thier best to help you around. Driving is crazy here so be patient. If you want some interesting things, head south to Abha and other cities on the way.
Enjoy your time!
Thanks for this video Gabe, great insights into a country that is opening up more and more to tourists. Hope to visit it myself sometime, if not later this year.
Your will be more than welcome buddy. Hit me up when you in Riyadh 😁. And I’ll help you 😁👍
@@mexicanoman9696 thank you very much my friend!
Please film a little in England. Cant go too long without a new video from you. Safe travels mate
You really are amazing Gabriel. Not a destination for me. But you are simply truly amazing 🙏🏾❤💛💚🏴
Thanks Gabe, now sit back and unwind in the U.K. ! Love from Virginia!
Dude, you have been traveling around the world more than anyone i've seen on youtube you are soooo lucky
Another great Vid Gabriel, been watching and following you for years, I’m sure you’ve already booked your return trip to Saudi 🙏👍🤣👍
Lol! He must come to Tanzania
This is my city and it has many beautiful places of monuments, restaurants and nature. Welcome in TAIF🌹
This makes a rainy afternoon in Basingstoke a more appealing prospect.
It’s all about the beaches, rivers and mountains.
Gabe with the jokes with the tallest building :)
I should probably start a new career as a comedian. 😛
Ya the best start to a vid yet, good job.
I was really looking forward to your take on England, seeing it from your point of view.
I'm disappointed that you won't be making lots of videos while you are there.
You are my inspiration keep going on 👍
How cool you are riding a car in Saudi Arabia as a tourist🤩
Great video, keeps the viewer engaged from start to end. You are a honest traveller, no drama like bald & bankrupt.
Cool, glad to hear it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos That 'preview' part stoked interest. Do a 40 second montage at the start of every video. Add more passion to commentary, you have genuine wanderlust it should reach the viewers in a crisp & sharp manner. Since you are a genuine traveller, adding drama wont suit you but add some x-factor. I have spent many nights alone in mountains of saudi /tabuk region, sleeping in car & tent, its totally safe & very serene with fantastic mornings
GREAT EXPLORATION AROUND JEDDAH SAUDI ARABIA. TNX4SHARING FULL WATCHED.
Driving in Saudi is not for the faint of Heart. You must keep your head on a swivel at ALL times.
If you don't have a Lead Foot, then Stay out of the Left Lane, or else you will be greeted with non stop
flashes of the Hi-Beam and Tailgating. Every Lane is a TURN LANE. . . .yes !!! Being "cut-off " is the Norm.
If you do have a Lead Foot, watch out for the Cameras. You barely see them, but they see you. When you
see a bright flash of light, you've been caught.
Went to Taif from Makkah on a day trip. I hope you had some time to see Madinah but yes I'll say welcome to the UK - lots to see and do there outside of London
Hi Buddy,
The tallest building in Jeddah is in Obhur district which is on the north coast of Red Sea.
Really, really interesting. Thanks
I thought you rented a Toyota Corolla. Just wanna let you know, when I was in Miami last summer, I rented the cheapest newest Corolla (newest model even the base model comes standard with dynamic cruise control that is almost autonomous). And it literally drives almost autonomously in cruise mode. You can drive that car without holding on the steering wheel and do videos and stuff. It steers the wheels on its own. I was driving from Miami to Tampa with ease for 4 hours with that Corolla.
“I’m flying to London next!! And I’m doing a road trip around the U.K.!!!.. but I’m not filming a video series.” - Gabe is such a tease!
I hope we get some videos
@@s125ish yea
Hope you are enjoying your stay here in the UK . Weathers great in Scotland.
Here we go again with another of his pranks: 1:35 😁 Cute little blue-headed dude ❤️ Enjoy a break in sunny London/England✌️
Also I wanted to mention in my previous comment how clean and well kept everywhere is and the road system is amazing you don’t see freeways that wide and clean anywhere in the states although I will say it seemed like everywhere you went was on wadi wadg road lol
Great video 👍 love it ❤️
I read that Saudi Arabia has about 50 different species of snakes - a good percentage of which are poisonous. As you were walking through the rocky areas and other trails, kept wondering if there would be an encounter. I remember the last snake you caught on film in the Greek islands.
Was thinking the exact same. Do world travelers like Gabriel study before arriving the chance of being attacked by really dangerous species when visiting a certain area / country, even the only troublesome ones? Saudi deserts would be wildly different from England in that respect at least.
Thank you for sharing the price of gas with us that is cheap gas and sharing your vlogs overseas. I’m Big fan of yours.
Hey Gabriel
Just gotta say cool space worm t-shirt!
All the best from 🇨🇦
Two things about this cideo : 1-I was doing with your Indian videos what you did here, the car-spotting thing, where you count the countries in which the cars are made. Or rather, where they were "born". I made the conclusion that Japan is the absolute winner. So many Japanese firms on the streets, not only in Saudi Arabia, but in India too. I hade made a comment in your Indian videos about the Suzukis, which apparently are everywhere,I mean, everywhere.
2- Man,you were walking and walking and walking on this endless and unbelievably narrow pavement, towards the end of your video, with the cars passing really fast like only a few centimetres from you and I got some stress there !
Sorry you won't be filming in England! Would love to see your trip!
I have absolutely zero desire to visit any Arab country in person, so it is nice to see it from a travelers perspective.
Why?
@@thetamimi Why? Well... I would stand out like a sore thumb. I'd be highly terrified of erroneously breaking a law and being jailed. I really don't like the vast desert landscape either. It's just not a place on my bucket list.
@@JamieSuzanne.
Ok, fair. I have the same feelings about the west and China, I don’t want any troubles while I am traveling.
don't worry..Saud family don't Jail western blond girls 🤣
If you had more time here you could've visited the city of abha which is probably one of the most beautiful cities in Saudi Arabia .
I think it'd be better if you contacted a local or someone who lived there / jeddah to help show you around, Taif is known mostly for the 'Taif flowers' , and around april a flower festival is held where flowers, flower water, and perfumes made with it are sold + Al Rudaf park + taif's fruits that are sold in the fruit market you passed
As for Jeddah in the old jeddah / jeddah Alblad .. there are historical hijazi houses you can visit like
- Ba'ashen house (now converted into a gallery)
- Nasif house
- Al Saloom House
Also I strongly recommend visiting the Southern Area of Saudi Arabia (Abha, Al bahah, Jazan ..etc)
hi Gabriel
at 7:40 you trun left from highway 298 in to highway 301 instead of continuing on 298.
at 8:04 you pass Makkah boundaries marker.
happy journey..
The roads are a lot better and safer than when way back when I used to work at Taif. It was around 40 years ago when I was there. Thanks a lot. In Saudi their is an interesting place like an ancient building or houses I forgot the name of the place sorry I forgot the name of the place. When I was there Taif was a lot smaller.seems there’s a lot of new buildings.
Very interesting. I enjoyed seeing all your Saudi videos, not somewhere that I've been drawn to, but can see the appeal. Strange how everyone must just either stay inside or be in their cars! It didn't seem like there were many cafes or restaurants etc.
I imagine you're in the UK now, I hope you've got a good road trip planned, I live in Bath, that's a beautiful city to visit. Anyway I'm sure you have some cool places in mind, will look forward to more in the near future from wherever you end up after the UK! Happy Travels..
There are so many places out there. The mistake the vloggers do going out early morning and noon time plus he missed a lot of places worth visiting out of little research and planning .
@@user-FM1 mm when else are you supposed to go explore if not during the day? I mean what are people doing?
@@Piscoandmartinis in gulf countries including Saudi Arabia general rule they avoid the sun and heat .They go out during the day but to close cold places malls , cinemas , restaurants ...ect
But majority prefer going out after 4 PM and young people stay awake until early dawn during the weekend .
Also early morning and afternoon is school , university and work time so that's why nobody is walking around. There are many options and places to visit, you just need to invest some time searching before travelling .
Peter Santenello made a great series about Saudi Arabia. I remember one video in the Faifa Mountains that was quite unlike what you would expect in Saudi.
Peter is awesome as well
So sad that you Gabriel will miss Jeddah season 🥲💔
Another great video...it is interesting to see because it is a different country, but honestly, a little depressing and unwelcoming. Thank you for the tour.
Gabriel, Thank you for showing us a little of the extreme landscape.,Wonder if there are ancient villages out in the desert. I hope that you show a bit of England . The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is upcoming.
Have a good time.
I think Saudi Arabia is magnificent! I really like the rawness of the desert and the mountains being from the Midwest USA!!
Look at those trees in the cities of Saudi a great example that we can make even desert a greenhub !
You realise that the enviromental impact of living and growing thing in the desert is enormous, desalination plants, airco and so forth, right? It is extremely enviromentally unfriendly : "The world’s largest per capita CO2 emitters are the major oil producing countries; this is particularly true for those with relatively low population size. Most are in the Middle East: In 2017 Qatar had the highest emissions at 49 tonnes (t) per person, followed by Trinidad and Tobago (30t); Kuwait (25t); United Arab Emirates (25t); Brunei (24t); Bahrain (23t) and Saudi Arabia (19t)."
Friendliness does matter. But, it must be sincerely given and received, as well.
Taking it up to the next level.
Definitely there is something wrong!! Maybe u r unlucky guy because even me, I felt weird watching your video like is this really saudi arabia!! Where I live right now🤔 even if we said that you are going out at morning or afternoon where people are in thier jobs, schools doing thier final exams, or taking a nap!!
Also, you were in Jeddah during Jeddah season, there are nine festivity zones across the city of Jeddah: Jeddah Superdome, Al-Jawhara Stadium, Jeddah Jungle, Jeddah Yacht Club, Jeddah Art Promenade, Jeddah Pier, Prince Majid Park, City Walk, and Al-Balad. Each of these zones will hold special kinds of events, related to the historical and cultural aspects of its location, display almost 3000 events, 4 international exhibitions, 20 concerts, and a huge fireworks everyday for 2 months.
Same with Taif there are a lot of parks Shafa, Hada, Alrdaf, king fahad, king Abdullah, and Saiysad notional park, Okaz souq, and punch of museums, palaces and historical areas.
Funny that you missed them all 😅🙂
A blessed Good day Sir Gabe Thank u so much again for your wonderful walk around tour in very interesting place in Saudi Arabia Stay safe Godbless u 🙏🙂 Shurkan jazilan, From your solid fan viewer from Tondo manila Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Vhin 🙂🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏❤️👏👏👏👏👍👍

Please be aware that in some roads there are cameras that look for seat belts and using devices while driving the penalty is 500 ryails each occasion 💔

Nice video. I lived in Riyadh 1986
16:43 this is actually because the Saudi government coordinate with different countries about their pilgrims numbers. For example, I think Indonesia has the highest number of pilgrims so they require a higher amount of accommodations. So, it is a matter of organizing and managing the huge influx of crowds and at the end they all go to the same places.
the tower is like 40km north from where you were. its in the northern part of jeddah, northern obhur to be exact 😂
Nope it’s not 40 km it’s very visible from Northern Jeddah Water front (corniche) it’s also already +300 meters tall..

Random question and I completely understand if you can't answer. Was wondering if you do these live walks live on another platform and then re-upload them later with so edits.
