Gabriel, you indicated that you would like to visit Saudi again. Just want to highlight that the normal visit visa is for 1 year, multiple entries. It also includes with it some form of insurance. So you don't need another visa for 1 year 🙂

Thank you so much for exploring one of the most incredible cities in Saudi Arabia, the reason why nobody is hanging out is that the weather is quite hot in the morning period so people prefer to go out in the evening. Usually, on a sunny day, people prefer to spend their time indoors or going out to coffee shops, restaurants, and malls, I’ve never been to Jeddah but we have the same lifestyle as well in Riyadh. Welcome to our country and I hope you had a wonderful time there 🤍🤍🥰

It's just an interesting observation, that two of the most well beloved countries for tourism are still practically closed, whereas KSA, a country that has restricted all non-business related foreign entry for decades, is now Covid restriction free and has an easy, if expensive, visa on arrival system.

From the miracles of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is that the Arabian Peninsula was once a lush green land full of trees and rivers. There was no way Prophet Muhammad who was illiterate could have known, given the limitation of scientific and technological capabilities at the time, such a fact by himself. Studies in geology and archeology have recently confirmed to a degree beyond any doubt that the Arabian Peninsula once had a much cooler climate and that it truly was a lush green area full of trees, lakes and rivers. Such is based on the following:
1) In 2014 researchers in Saudi Arabia discovered fossilized remains of an elephant in the Nafud Desert. With over 60% of the elephant’s fossilized bones intact, including an entire tusk, it remarkably indicates that the Nafud desert once had a climate suitable for elephants to live in. It is also worth mentioning that the discovered elephant was 50% larger in size and about twice the weight of the current day elephant. More so, in 2017 Saudi Arabia’s Centre for International Communication announced the discovery of fossils of other creatures including crocodiles and seahorses, and more remarkably the discovery, in total, of 10,000 ancient lake and river beds across the Arabian Peninsula.Furthermore, in 2017 Dr. Eid Al Yahya, a well-known archeologist, discovered the first ever fossilized mammoth in Saudi Arabia; and throughout the past decade has discovered and documented over a thousand flint spearheads (made of silica) and other advanced large-prey hunting tools in remote desert locations that indicate that civilizations once hunted in these now barren areas.The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage reported that in the 1990’s "Landsat" provided imagery of eastern and southern parts of Saudi Arabia, including the Empty Quarter. The satellite images revealed old trade routes, river paths and valleys; all of which are now covered by sand dunes.
In conclusion, geological and archeological discoveries confirm the saying of the Prophet Muhammad, that the Arabian Peninsula was once full of meadows and rivers; a fact that Prophet Muhammad could not have known by himself except through revelation from God Almighty.
We feel proud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Being Arabs, I am an Arab from Syria, descended from the tribe of( the Prophet Muhammed, may God bless him and grant him peace )from Mecca specifically. Despite what the media is trying to promote, the Kingdom is intolerant of other religions and sects. However, I am a Shiite and I visit Saudi Arabia every year for the purpose of Umrah in the month of Ramadan. Thank you to the King and his Crown Prince, to the government and to the Saudi people
I don't know about other viewers but I simply enjoy seeing places that I've never seen before and will probably never visit. It doesn't matter if it's a bustling market, a pristine beach, or ancient ruins. Or, a wide road with some cars on it and unspectacular buildings. Just being able to see and hear the sights and sounds of this place is worth the time

I always see tourists coming and visiting my country and they’re more than welcome, but there’s only one thing that they don’t know which is Saudi people isn’t actually like other countries. What I mean is when you wake up in the morning and planning to go out, then you see no body out there 😂.
We in Saudi pretty much have a night life, so next time if you plan to go out, just go after 4pm and believe me you will be shocked of how crowded it is, and don’t worry it’s so safe at night just like in the morning, even if it’s past 12am.

I lived with my family in that red brick apartment building from 1993 to 1995 @19:50 and my great-grandfathers are buried in a cemetery near Souk Al-Alawi in Al-Balad.

my recommendation to you to visit Taif ,Al-Baha , Abha in Summer time because of the weather around 20c ,
in winter time you could go anywhere you like.

I read two great books about Saudi Arabia. One is called Inside the Kingdom by Robert Lacey, and Mecca by Ziauddin Sardar. Very interesting. 👍😊

I’m Saudi and Robert’s book about Saudi has wrong understanding about what happened in Saudi Arabia he didn’t exactly understand what happened at that time

He was only there for 3 days you can’t cover anything in this time.. he just got a small glimpse of a big city which he needs to return and explore more as Saudi Arabia has thousands of villages and bedouin culture and it’s the 13th largest country in the world and the diversity between the people is really huge.. Every tribe has its own culture, Dialect or accent, clothes, dances and more..
Yes, I agree that 3 days is not enough time to see Saudi Arabia. As an American, I think Saudi Arabia would be a very fascinating country to visit. I would like to find out more about the people,culture, food and other things!
Also mount Sela ( which is mentioned in the Bible) is located in Madinah , in Isaiah (42:11) : ( Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voice; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountains.) and that happened when prophet Muhammad ﷺ migrated to Madinah . Note : Kedar who's mentioned here is the second son of Ishmael ( that's also mentioned in the Bible ( Genesis 25:13) . And prophet Muhammad is a descendant of Ishmael.

Gabriel when you mentioned the tallest building will be completed in Jeddah and prior to this it was in Dubai.. this made me think of narration ''Angel Gabriel asked prophet Mohamed (pbuh) give a sign of the hour (the end of the world), he replied ''when you see the bare feet shephards (meaning the arabs) compete to build the tallest building''. I lived to see it.

I am Roman Catholic but find Islam to be an absolutely beautiful religion. I have studied it for ~20 years there are many things to be learned from it. DEFINITELY the most misunderstood religion IMO (especially Sunni vs Shia)

Having been to Saudi Arabia 5 times for Umrah and Hajj in Makkah and Madinah, I did stay in Jeddah along the Corniche for 3 nights. I hope you enjoy your road trip in England - the weather currently in England, which is where I am from, is warm but slightly chilly at night. I hope you visit my home city of Nottingham on your road trip in England and see the history of Robin Hood - and very close to my home city is the stunning Peak District in Derbyshire. Anyway, Jeddah is quite nice especially along the Corniche

@@GabrielTravelerVideos new delhi, north to rishakesh, lil further northwest, down to mumbai, then around the south tip to kolkata and fly to thailand. 2 full months. leave in 3 hours. lil panicked but like you said, its always unsure until you get there. itll be fine tho 😎
Good plan heading for Rishikesh first, the perfect place to get familiar with the country. It's going to be crazy hot almost everywhere, if you want to cool down then head into the mountains. You could go to Mussoorie which isn't too far from Rishikesh or McLeod Ganj, Manali, Kasol which are further but more amazing and should be more travelers there. And if you could work in Leh, Ladakh you won't regret it but that might require a flight. Anyway have a great time.

Yes that "Single" means for males, whether alone or with friends. "Families" mean families & females alone or with friends etc.
The reason you don't see people on the street is because of the heat. Most prefer to go out in the evening. different from Europe or America it is okay to be outside in the night even in 11pm or 12am

I just spent a couple years there. You’re not going to have any problems with the police. A security guard may say something at a shop or mall but that’s a lot different than having a police office stop you. Things in the KSA are completely different these days.
You did pretty good explaining things. I hope you make it to the souk and see part of Old Jeddah. I’ve been all over Saudi Arabia and that’s one of the more interesting places. I hope you can make it to Al-‘Ula too. I never made it there and I regret not having done. I understand the ruins are related to those you saw in Petra, Jordan. Safe travels.

Welcome Gabriel ... As you know, its a warm latitude (very warm)... The day time is for work only, most people come out at night.... Besides, if you continue to walk in the heat, you'll get a sun hit (God forbid).
Instead of uber transportation you can use (careem)application. its cheaper and faster (limousine is almost dead here).

Absolutely love the commentary on Islam ....u r very knowledgable Gabe ...Mecca does not have an Airport, the closest city with an international airport is Jeddah ..thats why people from ALL over the world fly into there for - Hajj - There is a smaller pilgrimage that Muslims perform called - Ummrah ...again for this they have to visit Mecca and Medina ...and again they wud fly into - Jeddah - Hajj ..as u rightly pointed out must be done ONCE in a persons lifetime - IF THEY can Afford to do so - Ummrah can be performed any number of times ....So Ummrah visas are available 10 ..11 months of the year - The only time you can not go for Ummrah ...is during - Hajj :)

I was surprised to see American brand of food, KFC, crispy cream etc. I was not aware that middle east was in favor of Western food outlets. Jeddah looked very clean and tranquil. Enjoy the few days.
As Donald Trump said that Saudi Arabia is a client state of USA so apart from alcohol and pork meat you can find anything as any mid range American cities .
No these days it is getting westernised with a touch of local flavour and they have set up a roadmap to make it travel friendly.

Jeddah is considered also a big Islamic tourist destination in Saudi Arabia and the principal gateway to Makkah, Islam's holiest city, which Muslims are required to visit at least once in their lifetime. It is also a gateway to Madina, the second holiest place in Islam.

I practically lived in Hafar Al Batin back in 90/91. I'd give it a visit if you have time. Tap line road is also something else, not sure about now bit back then every few dozen miles or so you could get free water and fuel. See lots of bedouins and the scattered oasis.

It's always really interesting the information you provide. You make a lot of effort to research the areas and cultures, history which is refreshing. It's a great time to visit England if your going to be here for Jubilee. I'm making the most of work closing down for a week so booked a few weeks travelling the Balkans so will miss it. So will we watching your channel for the celebrations if you are there.
Hi Gabriel! I lived in the middle east for almost two decades; I am fluent in Arabic. My best advice is to avoid discussing these topics: politics, religion, sex and race. Middle eastern foods are to live for; try as many as you can. Arab hospitality is something to endure/enjoy and remember for life. Safe travels!
@@gladyswilliams336 Hi! Islam is more than a religion; it is a way of life. As such, sex topics are taboo or may follow "very old traditions", not observed by western societies. Respect their way of life, and you'll be OK. Take care!
@@teknav1 Well, Islam is many things for 1.6 billion people and I dont think you can claim to speak for all of them. In many Islamic counties all these topics are perfectly fine to discuss, like for example Turkey where Muslims drink alcohol, dont force women to cover themselves up and where a strict division between church and state is in place and you have things like gay bars, just like all the modern Western nations.
Saoudi Arabia however is of course a totalitairian dictatorship where any opinion that differs from the official one is indeed very dangerous, as of course the sad tale of Jamal Khashoggi shows, a journalist murdered in the Saoudi consulate in Istanbul a couple of years ago. Your advice is indeed a very good one in this particular country :-D
@@ageoflove1980 Saudi Arabia is a state based on Islamic law, and it is true that talking about sex is not acceptable religiously, socially and culturally for us, and Turkey is a secular state that is not Islamic.

when i was a student , i used to write letters on behalf of political prisoners through Amnesty International - guess to where most letters were going ? And i hear not much in 20 years has changed, therefore i am refusing to set foot in that country unless it changes its moral direction .
لم استطيع تكملة الفيديو من كمية إساءة الفهم , المملكة العربية السعودية يوجد بها كل شيئ منذ القدم , كنا نملك المطاعم و المقاهي و السوبرماركت و الملاهي وكل الوسائل الطبيعية المتواجدة في غالبية الدول , الاختلافات البسيطة التي جعلتنا مختلفين عن الباقي لا اراها شيئ قديم او تدل على عقلية قديمة بل العكس اراها ثقافة , التغيير الذي حصل و التطور موجود من مدة كانت هناك خطط لفعله لكن كان يوجد بعض المواطنين ذوي المنصب العالي لكنهم سيئين حاولوا تخريب البلد لأجل المال , تعاملت معهم الكومة ومنذ 6 سنوات أصبحت النساء تقود السيارات و تمت بناء أماكن جديدة لتعزيز السياحة الداخلية ولجذب السياح من الخارج بالطبع ليستمتعوا في بلادنا الجميلة .

14:00 Actually non muslims can enter Madina but they can’t enter the Prophet’s mosque. But non muslims are not allowed to enter the city of Makkah or the boundary of the holy city this is because there are some parts of Makkah that are actually outside the boundary and can be visited.
