I knew someone who had a Norton 920cc commando engine with Quaife gear cogs, heat treated and cryogenically cooled to absolute zero -273 centigrade to cope with the high BHP the engine was producing, the gearbox was dissembled and all the bits sent off and then treated and returned in few weeks, not cheap but the thing never stripped a tooth or buckled a dog,
Great vid, thanks. Recently picked up a 69G and very interested in seeing a teardown. Can't seem to find much info or manuals online, would like to maintain and service it myself. One question I had is you recommend to clutch in on down shifts, would there be any benefit to using the strain gauge to activate throttle blip on down shift or is it just all round better option to clutch in and keep it simple?
Hello, we have exploded drawings and a basic servicing guide that we can send over to you. Please email sales@quaife.co.uk so this can be forwarded over. It is on the list to create a basic servicing video for a more visual reference. We would recommend going with the simpler clutch in on downshifts.
Thank you for the vid, awesome content. I have two more questions, if using electronicdownshift blip is it safe to also downshift without using the clutch and if temps exceed 105degree is there pre made ports for oil cooler or we have to make ones on the casing?
Hello, you can use the electronic downshift blip without clutch, however we would still advise using the clutch on downshifts. There are ports on both the 60G and 69G, the 69G has an internal oil pump. The 60G you will need to run an inline oil pump instead.
You will need a loadcell gear knob as this will send a signal to the ECU to initiate the cut. However would be best speaking to Haltech to see what loadcell they recommend and if anything else is required for their ECU.

Could you share a little more about the NVH levels of the helical gears? Do you have a video on a comparison of noise vs straight cut or helical?
Good Evening Gents! Great vid! Did I miss the recommended oil for servicing ? Please let me know! Thanks again!
Hello, we recommend GL5 75W90!

I need quaife 69G 🤩
Great video guys, just got my 60g delivered yesterday!
So in order to flatshift using a haltech 1500 ecu do I need anything extra? I’ve got the pot

Hi, I Have a Corolla AE86 RWD where to assemble the speed cabel conecter?
The gearboxes do not come with a speedo gear so you will need to convert it to a wheel speed sensor or another solution.
Is there a direct fit kit for AE86?
Input shaft, bellhousing and shifter positioning?
