God bless UA-cam, I never thought I would've found the answer to this! Mine was clogged right where you said, AND it had moved off alignment. Easy fix! Thank you!
Thank you sooo much, that's such a practical issue I definitely overlooked. We had the same problem but it occurred right after we poured some milk down the drain. I took a precision Phillips and repoked the faucet drain, like magic everything works.
This comment comes a little later after your video was produced. Thank you sir. I too was confounded why my counters were wet - and saw water backing out of the spigot. I didn't notice the little air release until I saw the water draining from it. Luckily there was just some blockage in the tube and I didn't have to fiddle with the bracket below. Thanks again! I love the dogs!
my problem was slightly different ...had this same problem of water leaking out........ tried this and a couple other things but what worked for me was pulling the drain hose out from that blue fitting thing on drain then letting it hang used a air compressor at 30 psi and pushed air from the vent on the faucet and it spit out a chunk of gunk on the floor and bam works flawlessly now!
Question: My faucet has a twist knob to turn it on/off. Even when turned off it was leaking? Does this still apply? I pulled off the piece shown @2:29 there was no gasket as best shown @2:41. I installed 3M heavy duty double sided tape. Aligned the hole and fastened everything back up. So far, it's not leaking through the weep hole. If it was leaking when in the off position, should I be looking elsewhere?
@@Housebarons Hey, yeah. It started leaking again. Contact the manufacturer. I'll try to remember posting a reply on here after it's fixed. Just to let you know and those watching this video as well.
Makes sense now. The problem with our system is that it leaks when the waste disposal is activated. I suspect this drainage tube gets pressured causing back-flow. Do you think that adding a one way valve to the drainage pipe would work? Any suggestions?
Hey John, Not sure about one way valve. Might be a question for the manufacturer. I would check exactly where you have connected the drain hose. Is it located on the main sink drain above the disposal connection. The disposal should not cause a problem if it’s below where the drain tube for the RO is attached. Hope that helps. Thx for watching.
Should the hose tubing be inserted into drain pipe? Mine the hole is smaller than the tube? Should I make the hole bigger? Also my gasket is not as thick as yours. Mine is mushy? Thank you for making video.
Hey Susan, Yes. Our black tube goes into the drain pipe. Double check your directions - not sure why your tube is bigger than the hole. Is your gasket a tight fit on the tube. You don’t want a sloppy fit on the tube. If the hole needs to be bigger, be sure it is the exact same size. If the hole is too big, the tube may fall out and now you have a mess. Drill bits come in very fine increments 1/32 of an inch or smaller. You could drill a practice hole in a scrap piece of wood or plastic and make sure the hole you are making is a good tight fit. Hope that helps. Thx for watching!
@@Housebarons great info. No, my tube does not fit . My seal was pretty much disolved. Big box store did not have a replacement seal. I ended up using flex seal tape?? So far so good. I need to make hole slightly bigger as you suggested. Thank you very much for your help .
Hey Lannie, In my case the hose and the hole in the drain didn’t align which caused the problem. Could you detach the hose at the drain and put it into a bucket to make sure it is plugged up? Also make sure the drain line isn’t kinked. To clean the line use a pipe cleaner or similarly sized tiny brush to dislodge the clog. Hope that helps. Thx for watching!
Just had this issue. Except I was gone for 2 days and came home to water dripping from my downstairs ceiling. Turns out it was all coming from this weep hole. I took it apart before watching this video. Mine has a cartridge where the waste water attaches to the faucet. I found that a lady bug crawled into the weep hole and plugged the drain hole. 🙄 most expensive lady bug I’ve ever seen.
Mixed emotions. Your video saved my day but I had to watch you play with adorable puppies while my cabinets warped. 8 out of 10. 😁
Thank you!!! I've spent three frustrating days trying to find this problem after changing my damn filters! HERO status!!!

Hey Nick,
Typically the weep hole leak has to do with clogged black drain tube.
Contact manufacturer if it continues… they’ll know.

We did that and it still leaked. I was told to buy a drain liner adapter . We also have a garbage disposal should we remove it?
I don’t think removing the disposal should be necessary. See if the adapter at work.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting cause.

Why not connect to the dishwasher drain on that garbage disposal?
Hey @pitontheprowl ,
Great question. We just followed the directions - must be some reason?? I know the height is important.
