    I actually liked that Bo Nix showed he can carve up a defense with underneath passes against UW. JJ McCarthy is my guy, though. McCarthy can create plays. That roll out to the left to avoid the sack and throw a TD against Nebraska? That was awesome. I also like the convergence of McCarthy’s willingness/ability to fit throws into tight windows. He can drop a ball perfectly between an overtop and an underneath defender. Plus he’s one of the younger QBs in the class. Color me a believer in JJ McCarthy.

    What else does Jayden Daniels have to do? 92 PFF grade? Best runner in the class by far. Quick decision making and downfield accuracy has gone from average to some one of the best in the country. Is he just capped in terms of draft position? I see no reason why Shedeur Sanders is ahead of him and Penix and Nix are very similar in terms of age and production. I’d go JD5 easily.

    There is a group of 4 or 5 QBs none of who has separated themselves from the rest. I honestly don't think any of them warrant a top 5 pick. As a pats fan I hope they drop back for or 5 picks gain a pick and take Penix Jr.

    Sorry, but the Caleb height concerns are gonna be even more compounded when he actually hits the combine, because that dude is 5'10 200 lbs. Just look at him compared to Lincoln Riley who's listed at 5'10 & his former favorite target Jordan Addison who just went through the combine at 5'11 173lbs.

    • @vr654
      @vr654 Рік тому

      They will be compounded by ignorant fans and the media will run with it cause it will get clicks due to fan interaction. It does not matter when you are are good as he is. Didn't matter for Kyler, Baker, or Bryce Young. Still all went 1:1 and their shortcomings (no pun intended) are not due to size.

    • @vitigaymer1053
      @vitigaymer1053 Рік тому +1

      Just like CJ Stroud & Anthony Richardson are outshining Bryce Young in the pros.
      I believe Drake and Pennix will fare better in the NFL.

    • @washingtoncommandcenter5541
      @washingtoncommandcenter5541 Рік тому +1

      @@vr654 For years the NFL shied away from smaller QBs in favor of the 6'3+ guys for a reason, they let up on it in recent memory because of Brees & Russ, but Kyler & Bryce were even farther outliers more in line with Caleb. How Kyler returns & Bryce finishes the season will impact Caleb's stock, after the combine. more than how Caleb finishes the season. Because the Mahomes comps will melt away for the Kyler/Bryce ones once he's measured, & that could drop his stock. I'm not comparing Caleb & Sam Howell, from a talent or potential standpoint, but I think even more than his down final season, which everyone understood was a result of losing all of his supporting talent, the BIGGEST factor in sinking Howell's stock, was everyone's LAZY Baker Mayfield comp, & the fact that Sam was getting that comp while Baker was falling out of Franchise QB status. If Kyler & Bryce have awful seasons, it will raise more questions about Caleb.

    I do see similar problems with Ewers & Nix throwing the ball downfield. ... Penix throws the most NFL looking passes.

  • @knowledgeuntamed9177
    @knowledgeuntamed9177 Рік тому +1

    Bo Nix has a Justin Herbert vibe to me. Ewers could be a Cousins type QB. Think JJ McCarthy and Washingtons Penix QB both have big upside. Like Maholmes or Fields ya gotta mold it. Need the right coaching. I don't really care for QBu QBs. Duke or NC. 🐻 Fan and Mitch Trubisky pry has an effect on that😅😅😅.

    What is your grade right now on Penix? Do you expect him to go in round 1? I know Brugler is pretty low on him, has the same issues as you guys and grades him as a late day 2 prospect, but Sikkema grades him as first rounder. I'm split and biased so don't know who to believe.

    • @justinmj6586

    Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray both Lincoln Riley No.1 overall "Can't Miss" QuarterBacks. Caleb Williams is a system QB. Brock Purdy has the best footwork I ever scouted, but Williams is close. He can be Great in a System. Hire Lincoln Riley tho if your drafting this kid.

  • @jesusoftheapes
    @jesusoftheapes Рік тому

    #1 is not close and is Drake Maye . The best QB prospect of a long time. He is Aaron Rodgers like in the way he places passes and how he understands football . He is a different kind of player who has a very low chance of flopping in the NFL . I think he is probably the best QB to come into the NFL since Aaron Rodgers. If this is not the top QB then there is no honestly in evaluation .
    #2 Sheduer Sanders Is a no doubt superstar QB who will win in the NFL for decades for 4 or more teams. I do not care about anything anyone says about him negatively . He has what his dad had and it is not because of the fact his dad is his coach that he is successful . He makes wow placement throws every drive he plays. He places the ball into buckets as if he has been throwing passes with the greatest coaches since he was born. He has a leadership gene that oozes from him like no other player in the class. He will be a all time great NFL player at QB if he withstands injury and I think one of the best things for him would be to not have Deon coaching for him for a change. Their is not a stage big enough for Sanders and his IT factor is worth a top 5 pick to my eyes . He throws with great anticipation beyond every QB in this wonderfully loaded NFL draft and while I think he gets talked into staying in school by his father he would have no problem as one of the top 10 picks of this coming draft . He might never be a #1 overall pick . He will never be a higher value than in this year and even if he stays I do not see him going over 2025 Classes top guy either.
    #3 JJ McCarthy How can you say he anything short of a Superstar? He is a fantastic reader of defenses with a Manning level arm. He could end up the best QB out of the class in the right situation (Go Packers) . He has some of the best anticipation throws of the class and he is very good at not eyeing down pass catchers . He has as good of an arm as any of the young QBs drafted in the past 5 drafts. Very few players can out throw him. He is the best Big 10 QB since Tom Brady and he has miles more talent than Tom did coming into the NFL. top 12 pick
    #4 Caleb Williams . Holds the ball longer than any prospect per pass. There is no metric I consider more than how fast a QB can process a play. Williams will require a scheme that finds a way to maximize him to have any success at the next level . Jameis Winston and Williams have a lot in common. I see him having a lot of trouble with pressure and making fast enough reads to be instantly successful at the next level . When you hold the ball you cannot rely on his playmaking ability like he does in college and he will start in the NFL by struggling like Bryce Young has. I think Bryce is going to figure it out and Williams has a lot of the same upside. I still see him as a top 14 pick .
    #5 Mike Penix Jr and only because of injury history. I think he is better than Williams, JJ and Sanders but his injury history is a red flag with 2 ACL injuries and many others he might be the best to watch outside of Maye. His ability to make plays is equal to any QB in the NFL currently and if he lands with the right coach the guy could become a great NFL QB . But he has the a bust quality about him I just cannot place. I would draft him in the 1st without question given just how good the man is at football . Riskiest QB by far in most measures . He also is the guy who might be a unstoppable force at the next level just as easily . Top 25 pick and is a starter day one.
    #6 Tyler Van Dyke . I think Van Dyke is a extremally good QB who could be a big success in the NFL . Van Dyke has a Tony Romo like skill set. He is a extremally good passer who throws with a great frame and has a solid overall game. Van Dyke would be drafted in round one in other classes in my opinion . He is as talented as Goff was coming into the NFL . He could make some day 2 team extremally happy they waited outside of day one for their franchise QB. If Daniel Jones has an NFL career Tyler Van Dyke can do better .
    #7 Riley Leonard. Ankle be damned . This guy has electric running ability and a much more than average arm talent . he can make all the throws and plays with a Big dick energy that is contagious for his teammates. Riley makes a team as average as Duke in the weapons category one of the better squads in the ACC. He is being overlooked by the other big dogs on this list and he should not be. He could be a starting NFL QB who can win you many games .
    #8 Bo Nix . Bo Nix is the Jordan Love of the 2024 draft . Say what you want about Jordan Love he like Nix will test well and looks good in shorts . He will have some team fall in love with this big arm and his form and they will take a long hard look at making him an NFL starter for some time. I saw to much at Auburn . He is not good enough for me but one NFL team is going to fall for him hard.
    #9 Jayden Daniels . I have no idea how to place him . He has great film and when you scout him there is a lot to like about the growth he has shown through school . He should be able to adapt to a lot of NFL schemes and has all the tools to make the NFL his playground . He could be a steal or a career backup . He could also become an XFL superstar . The place he lands is a mystery though I think with the right team he could learn to be an NFL starter. He has bounced around as much as anyone ever but when he settles into a consistent franchise where he can grow up in one system for a longer time he could end up being a real deal player .
    #10 all 12 left to draft on the list of picks this year. Not one is above the other and any could become great XFL QBs . The NFL and the XFL will get stocked to the gills this draft.

    So glad Renner said he didn't want to like Nix cause it showed that he didn't, 5 passes over 20 air yards vs WAS including a 45 yard TD. Dinking and dunking, you hate showed. Auburn was HORRIBLE, he was running for his life, its weird that people forget his first game the DUEL with Herbert or the fact he beat BAMA in the Iron Bowl, HE had a horrible team so he left, and he is getting crucified, Williams transferred because his coach left (poor baby must be tough). Hurts couldn't throw at Bama went to OU threw for 3800 and 32 TD's and you still doubted him. Situations make QB's NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! You gotta have talent and willingness to learn, but even the BEST QB stuggles with ZERO help. So you punish him for having NOTHING and NOW you say oh look at that offense in Oregon he's barely getting touched all quick throws, yeah looks like the 49ers offense Purdy doesnt throw the ball thru a hurricane he does everything a B needs to do and he has GREAT WEAPONS and they are saying he is an MVP candidate. AND BO NIX oh he's just dinking and dunking (which is BS). Anything else I should point out in your haterrant! Pennix has 2 first round WRS and 2 O Linemen, he is LOADED as well, ODUNAZE saved him 3 times and the TE had a MASSIVE SAVE!!! Oh and 2 picks

    Is USC's talent around Caleb Williams better? I mean Drake Maye had 2 NFL wide receivers last year and another 1 this year. I can't see anyone on USC who is worthy of more than a late round flier..... kinda making up stuff on that account.
    I think Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are overrated.
    Caleb Williams if he can play more within the system then sure i am all on board. But Caleb Williams plays so much hero ball it is a gamble
    Drake Maye isn't Justin Herbert comp... he is a Daniel Jones to Trevor Lawerence spectrum.... I see him as a player that years later you are thinking "damn we could have had Jayden Daniels or Micheal Penix Jr"... But teams will pass on them ... just like the Mitcheal Tribisky over Mahomes and Watson... Just like Maye Field and Rosen etc over Lamar Jackson
    The image of what a QB looks like plays a powerful role in this. But I just look at who is leading the MVP odds now... and the last 10 years ... Dave Gettlemen said this about Daniel Jones when they drafted him "that is what a QB looks like"... when in reality.. this is the image we conjure in our head... as we ignore who is actually dominate.
    But like every draft Mock draft community and fans will never admit it. Instead double down harder regardless of what we see.
