This car has more stories and accounts to tell than any new BMW on the street, these days! Very classic and historical. As a person born in the 90s, I remember seeing a few of these too on city streets, in the late 90s. Every time I look at these, nowadays, I'm always taken aback. They just don't make them as sturdy and underrated as this anymore...
This is the first video of a 524td with anyone showing a single thing about timing these engines thank you so much I have one of these my dad bought years ago and nothing showed how you set timing on one here in the u.s.
My father had one of theese, a gasoline one... that it has kept for a good number of years. I have always been attached to this car. I remember when it was replaced, I went out of my way to make sure he kept it instead of buying another one. Unfortunately, he preferred to buy an Opel Omega TD... with a BMW engine. Good work!
Hello Flexiny, Thank you for sharing this very nice restart video of this BMW 524 TD which has been stopped for almost 20 years. We see less and less of these models which are able to cover very very long mileage (500,000 km or more...)
The owner is smilling in heaven because of you.Im goose pimples seeing this video.I missed my 1989 E34.Keep doing this videos.Big thumbs up from Portugal mate
I used to have a 1983 BMW 524TD, it was the first car I bought with my own money, cost me 500 euros, its the best car I ever owned, I wish I still had it.
Great job my friends. When I was a kid I wanted so much this car. But I've never been able to buy one. The Universe gave you great hands and you work great with those cars. Congratulations and love from Italy ❤️
This is the first time I’ve seen the abandoned car with no camshaft cover!! Still, one of the best engines they ever made from BMW!! Complete robust and bulletproof!! It even started with no problems, took a while to get it going!!
Oh how very amazing to see that an old BMW is able to come back to life and if the owner would be alive I bet they would really be thanking you for taking time to bring and fix the car.
This is the same one that got saved with the blue one, when i first saw it i was like this is gonna need a swap or its good for parts for the blue one , good job flexiny for managing to start this legendary car!!

I believe the engine in that car is the same engine used in the 1984 Lincoln Continental Mark VII. It was a one year option only. Only sold about 2300 Lincoln's in 1984 with that BMW 6 cylinder turbo diesel.
14:36 I would knowing if was a sort of challenge with yourself or someone else try to save this old nice car. All we respect and love ur silent and sirious work and this time should be very hard
BMW's first diesel engine, co-developed with and built by Steyr in Austria based on the M20 petrol engine. It never sold well here in the US, as far as I know, but they did sell the engines to other makers, including Ford which put them in select Lincoln vehicles.
Hi from uk mate👋👍 great little find this👌 and I love a early bmw😂 over in uk we have a known for cars like this and they are classic cars👌 seen a mint e30 cabriolet today in green with cream leather was beautiful example and not modded 👍 but e28 you have should need a bit paint correction and interior sorted be a lively car 👌 do you have a classic car schene cos this should be worth a bit all sorted👍 and something diffent seeing you kinda do a head and timing too lol and injectors atomizing not just juicing it 👍 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👋

Wow I've got a 1983 and a 1984 BMW 528e two of them one have invested over $25,000 over the last 25 years.. I retired and the car just sits I just put all new suspension on all new exhaust including the exhaust manifold on back extensive engine work new calipers and rotors. And the sad part is they just sit both could be driving they were when I parked them a couple of years ago waiting for somebody who really knows their BMWs to come and purchase them and start a new life. the e28 is one of the most gorgeous sedans of all time. great job showcasing it.
I love to see old BMW's bringing to life
I remember seeing the blue BMW starting video and wondering if you were planning to rebuild the engine on this one, very glad you decided to!
Really the BMW is attractive more than other colors..

Perché diesel
Perché consumava poco? Benza no?
you should get one while they are still not too expensive
im sure their price will go up soon
@@benjaminbuljevic7977 in Italy we can't drive Euro 0 (no catalic converter) diesel /gasoline cars anymore. So sad

Great job, great old real genuine diesel! It's nice to admire how the old, real, durable diesel engine in a decent old BMW looked and worked.
That's a really cool old BMW too many were sent to the crusher !
So great to see one saved
I have always liked E28 model BMW. Front looks so good. Good job on getting car working again :)

My admiration for Bmw-s started with this model. Drove a 2.8 L gasoline option and just fell in love.
They are harder and harder to find.

Those BMW engines can last 40 years. Modern BMW engines last 4 years. The ultimate Profit prioritized engineering.
Because modern guys who can buy luxury modern BMWs , changes the car for an other new one very quickly , they keep a car one or two years maximum !

That engine sounded sweet once it got going and the injectors tightened. Nice job.
