    This is the perfect car repair video for me. And not only because it features a vintage Alfa, but because of the filming and editing. This guy understands that the car is the star, so he stays out of the video... too many UA-camrs are 'Hey guys, it's all about me, me, me, it's all about ME' - but not this guy. There is also no hand-held jerky camerawork, the camera is set down. And the editing is perfect too, showing us only the very crucial and interesting parts, speeding up when necessary and moving the progress along nicely. THIS is how it should be done. Liked & subscribed.

      Thank you so much for the compliments! I really appreciate it. I'm glad you noticed these details while watching the video, as that's exactly my goal: to make the car or the object in the video the true star, without music or voiceover. For anyone wanting more information, they just need to turn on subtitles; otherwise, it's only natural sounds

      @@Ego.Reficio aha. And what about the indoor space where the 33 was standing in, next to the old car? So, actually you need to build or rent an indoor space. But keep the car because you might have some indoor space once. I have space for many cars. Once I went with my 33 from the Netherlands to Venezia, then to Pisa over the Appenijnen mountains, and via non Autostrada but via the road SS1 al the way to St. Tropez. Three weeks holiday with my brother. It was very nice. I know a guy in the Netherlands who has about 10.000m2 of only Alfa Romeo parts. My eyes almost dropped out because of the amount of spare parts. And 50 Alfa's. I have his name and telephone number if you want it. But keep the car. Time will come. They are more scarce/rare than Alfa Suds nowadays.

Recently, I’ve been using a Lancia Ardea, the one you see at the end of the radio restoration video on my channel.The car isn’t mine. I’ll try to convince the owner to keep it and perhaps find a covered space. In the Netherlands, there are several collectors with many cars. In particular, I know that they really appreciate classic Lancias.

      E infatti se ascolti i cicli di compressione, all'inizio dei tentativi erano corretti, poi ha cominciato a mancare un cilindro (che sfiatava dall'aspirazione). E' vero, sarebbe stato meglio fare molti più giri con motore senza candele per far arrivare l'olio alle punterie essendo idrauliche, ma non penso che tu abbia idea di cosa significhi avere una cinghia di distribuzione rotta a questo punto. Una volta arrivato l'olio alle punterie il motore ha iniziato a girare perfettamente, cosa impossibile con anche un solo dente scavallato e quindi con una bancata fuori fase

      Another user told me the same thing; I didn’t know you had to press it. By making the mistake, I learned something new! The connector didn’t break; it was just the metal clip that came loose. Once removed, the clip flew away, and I never found it again, haha

    Nice seeing one that’s not turned into red dust. Granted, it needs some rust repair, but up here in the Nordic countries, these otherwise great cars rusted away in a few years.

    • @Ego.Reficio
      @Ego.Reficio  Місяць тому

      For this car, the problem was the proximity to the sea, so the saltiness. In Nordic countries, the main issue is the salt on the roads that causes them to rust

    • @carstenpedersen3200
      @carstenpedersen3200 Місяць тому +1

      True about the salty roads. The real problem though, was the absolute absence of rust prevention from the factory. Many of them had beginning rust issues allready at the dealership.

    superbe vidéo , j'ai également possédé une 33 , néanmoins ; il aurait pu enlever la rouille a l'aide de produits spécifique pour cette usage .et surtout ne jamais laver au jet le compartiment moteur avant d'avoir protégé les accéssoires semsible a l'eau , comme l'alternateur .

    • @Ego.Reficio
      @Ego.Reficio  2 місяці тому

      Thank you! There's not much to be done about the rust; the car is very compromised and needs entire panels replaced. You're right about the engine bay, but it's more important to protect the ECU and its connectors than the alternator. It's not as sensitive to water as one might think

      What happened to your 33? Did you sell it? I don't know the full story of this Alfa because it’s not mine. I only know that it was used until the early 2000s, then parked near a coastal area. From there, time and the salt air did the rest

      @@Ego.Reficio The rain and salt literally dissolved the car, eventually it was used as spare for other Alfa 33 projects by people, there are only 2 left on British roads that I can see now, if I can find a U.K. car I think I will eventually go to Italy, Spain or Portugal to get a left hand drive car to restore, people’s opinion of the 33 in Britain seems to be not good due to the rust issue and people believing it’s not a real Alfa.

      Everything you've described is correct for an even more thorough inspection. The car's bodywork is in poor condition, and I'm not sure if a full restoration would be worth it.
