    I use the MOFI 4500 also with an external omni antenna (no adjustments) ant it reaches everywhere in my 37ft coach. The good thing about this router is the ability to change to what carrier works where you are.

    • @EndlessRVing

      Brian Palechek no booster needed The Mofi broadcast the WiFi signal throughout the coach. The antennae helps pull in cellular signal.

    Great video but have a question. My head is spinning from the research I’ve been doing trying to get a reliable mobile internet option for our fifth wheel so that I can work while we travel, my job is 100% online. I think I’ve narrowed it down to a MOFI 4500 router with a unlimited data sim from Visible wireless (uses Verizon’s towers) and a additional exterior LTE cell antenna, but my confusion is why the Mesh system was beneficial in your case? What does that give you that connecting right to the router, in my case the MOFI 4500 give you? Why add the mesh outside of the control features you mention at the end of the video?

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  3 роки тому +1

      The mesh system greatly extends the range of the signal within the coach. That’s it. If you have a small Coach it should not be an issue.

      The Mofi 4500 already has dual MIMO paddle antennae’s it comes with. They work most of the time on the road..we actually have slept at rest stops etc not needing the external antennae. The directional antennae comes out if there is poor reception. Glad the weboost works for you but as you know the highest gain WeBoost offered for RV’s comes with a single directional antennae. An Omni directional antenna that you speak of is good but a directional high mounted dual MIMO antennae will give a better dB gain.

    So, the mofi with the sim card is a service you pay through ATT&T? Is that a mostly plan to act as a hot spot? I am currently using a KingWifi directional antenna that pulls in the wifi from the camp ground. But I can see that your system allows continuous service provided your outside antenna can get a cell signal. Am I correct? I am kind of new to this stuff.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 роки тому +1

      The Mofi is simply a cellular router. You can use whatever service provider you wish. Just select a plan and put in the SIM card. The external antennae we use simply allows us to pull in a better signal when cellular service is poor.

      Hi Laurel. The Mofi4500 LTE router is dedicated to the motorhome and a dedicated ATT account. The reason is the Mofi has 2 external antennae ports which allows the use of the external antennae.
      Hope that answers your question.

      If you have no cell service you have no connection. Your only option would be satellite which is very expensive and not very fast. If you have any cell service the external antennae will help pull in the signal and should serve you well most of the time. We have not had a problem anywhere we have camped but then again we don’t camp in the desert lol

      Sorry to hear that. We turned down the Winegard option when we built out our coach. My opinion at the time was that I did not want a permanently mounted unit on the roof that would be obsolete in 2-3 years. Our setup is not permanent and is easily upgradable as technology changes. Has served us well for more then half the cost of the Winegard unit.

    • @al8617
      @al8617 4 роки тому

      That’s very true, I notice a lot of things in the rv industry becomes obsolete very quickly. I took my coach to have some upgrades and an inverter installed. When I got it from the dealer my power mirrors, heated mirrors, and all my cameras were not working. I spent about $5,000 in upgrades and getting it ready for the spring and they gave it back to me with a major issue. They said that the motherboard needs to change, but Tiffin does not make the board anymore. They are apparently finding a workaround, after having my unit for 2 months.

    Isn't it easier and less expensive to just get a Winegard Connect?

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 роки тому

      Yes and no. Test the Winegard Connect is cheaper. We declined that option for several reasons.
      It’s a permanent mount to roof. We did not want this as technology is always changing. 5G nationwide is not to far in the future we wanted the option to upgrade. Second the external direction antennae we believe is superior to the Omni directional sun the wineguard. Third the Mofi 4500 is portable we can use it anywhere we wish. We also have a google mesh network hardwired to the Mofi 4500. Finally the data plan. I believe with the Wineguard you have to use their ATT connection which is quite expensive. We can use any plan we wish and are currently on grandfathered ATT grandfathered plan. Unlimited no cap data for 34.99 a month.
      Hope that answered some of your questions. Thanks for watching.

      Endless RVing Oh. I want something that’s permanent, i’m sure they will release a 5g version in the future if i opted to upgrade to that. From doing some research i found it works with almost all carriers that have the same bands. I have a tmobile hotspot plan that’s 2gb of “high-speed” data, and unlimited “3g” (t-mobile’s 3g is 4g lte just managed in congested areas), I pay $10 for it. My main concern is if it’s going to be more powerful than just using the hotspot, I really don’t want to pay for it and have no improvement and I also don’t want to pay over $400 for a signal booster.

    • @EndlessRVing
      @EndlessRVing  4 роки тому

      Collyn Wallace the winegaurd I believe has eternal antennae’s in the dome so yes you will have better reception. Not as good as the high mount directional but better than a hotspot with no external antenna.
