  • @frankoesterreicher6907

    Are the keys just clocked different, or allow for more bolt travel? Or I guess that would do the same thing? I’ve lowered a few 4x4 S10s with “drop keys” in the past and own a Typhoon which is similarly setup obviously, but I have a new to me 4x4 ‘97 Suburban that I would like give more of a street attitude. Any loss of ride quality that you noticed? I didn’t mind it so much when I was younger 10 years ago, but not sure I would tolerate it now. Also great work on the red tide truck and cool to see you have a UA-cam channel!

    • @LawrenceTolman
      @LawrenceTolman  4 роки тому +1

      Frank Oesterreicher thanks! Yeah, the keys are just clocked a bit different in the same way a drop key is, and whether you buy the GM “Purple” key or a Belltech drop key, they do about the same thing. For me, as long as I put on the shorter shock and trimmed the bump stops, it had good ride quality.

      @@LawrenceTolman hey i was wondering if the rear hangers of the c1500 are the same as the k1500?...i am trying to do a 2/4 drop on my 1990 k1500 gmc stepside but all i see is hanger kits for c1500

      I ordered a drop kit for my K1500 and the hangers they sent me did not match the original hanger holes. I did however drill new holes and managed to make them work.

      I used a pinion shim between the axle and springs, I think a four degree. the length didn't have to change though

    Hey LT ? Did you have to re-weld stock mounting points for front diff?? Trying to lower my 1991 Chevy Silverado 4wd. Right now it has a 6inch lift

    • @LawrenceTolman
      @LawrenceTolman  2 роки тому

      yes, when the lift was installed they cut off the front diff mount, I had to build another to replace it, and weld it in place
