I bought his mixtape before he got shot (How to rob was on it) and was amazed. A few months later he was mega huge! Also, DMX is very underrated. Dude was a beast and he wasn't scared of going against anyone. He poured his heart into his music. I remember, before he died, watching videos of him reading Scriptures and crying. Such a tormented soul trying his best to do right. He knew too much about the darkness of the music industry. I hope he's in heaven.

Jay's album after they both died almost flopped and he and Dame went back to the drawing board and came back with Hard Knock Life-Life and times or whatever and he hasn't fell off since. After the second album lackluster performing album, Jay restructured his style and blew the f up in the fall of 1998. I was in Alabama and everybody was playin that shit. He has not fell off since. 50 Cents peak years were during Jay Z's retirement. Get Rich or Die Trying came out early 2003 and Jay Zs Black Album dropped in late 2003. By the time Jay Z came back in late 2006, 50 had dropped another giant album, Gunit had dropped one while each of it's members had dropped two, with the exception of Yayo. The Gunit legacy pretty much went downhill from there but those year of 03-07 were big for 50. Jay is a guy who's just been at the top for a very long time.

I feel like you can take most of his songs (not the singles) and write a script for a tv show or movie based on his lyrics.. ATF is a good example. Tupac is my no.1 but he was not that good of a story teller but he was amazing and the absolute best at weaving in a message into his music and connecting with you as the listener on an emotional level and that's because he believed what he was rapping about. Feels like hate to me too..I understand if you don’t personally like his music.I understand not feeling like he’s #1..He’s not 1 for me either. But when you start leaving out his accomplishments or lying about them…That’s where you lose me.And being a hater is some sucker shit.

It’s cool he giving them their flowers but where I came up, when I came up, Goodie Mob was what we listened to and broke down lyrics word for word. We learned from groups like this when I came up. So I see Goodie on the same level as a 2Pac in my book
