The man headlined Glastonbury.

You definitely don't know the meaning of overseas 🤣🤣.. Jay is known everywhere man, I am from the real south, South Africa and I've known Jay my whole life
Everybody wanted to be a Ruff Ryder back in the day. That shit was crazy. I'm from a place so separated from DMX but even in the deep south as children we emulated that shit. Them and the 504 Boys from N.O.
Sooo much truth in everything he said about Big , Tupac , and J Z

He would've still been A huge artist but he would never outshine Big you guys know that
Exactly it would have still been Jay involved
I literally just said. Jay is a beast but he just don’t have enough heartfelt songs for me. He does but it ain’t enough. His songs don’t touch me like X, Pac, Em, 50 or Esco. Salute to Jay though
that's all im saying i love Jay music but you give me a choice who ilike more is Pac .
U capping u just ant listening closer
50???? Lmfaoooooo yeah right
And that's what alot of these Jay z stans get it misconstrued.Jay Z is a good rapper, but his SONGS doesn't hit the soul bruh...it just sounds good at the moment.X & Pac songs touched the soul, any other artist songs that was after Pac's era just made the flesh feel good NOT the soul.Again, niqqas & b****** define others by their money.....bruh made a point, when Pac walked in the room he didn't need no money to get ya girl 🐈"...his aura alone did that
Then you never listened to his full catalog
50 Cents peak years were during Jay Z's retirement. Get Rich or Die Trying came out early 2003 and Jay Zs Black Album dropped in late 2003. By the time Jay Z came back in late 2006, 50 had dropped another giant album, Gunit had dropped one while each of it's members had dropped two, with the exception of Yayo. The Gunit legacy pretty much went downhill from there but those year of 03-07 were big for 50. Jay is a guy who's just been at the top for a very long time.
He might not have two records that sold 8 and 10m like 50. But he has over 10 albums that have steadily sold 2m-5m over 3 decades. Longevity.
Someone with factz in here 💯
Jay-Z never retired. He pretended to retire so that he could get more hype build up for his album. Jay-Z was always a strategic businessman. But when 50 came out he was running everything. It was his moment even in Jay-Z's prime
I'm glad he brought up... me against the world,my favorite 2pac album
Totally agree. Me agsinst the world was the greatest solo album in rap history, IMO
I been preaching this same sermon for years kinfolk! Shout-out Gipp for keepin' it real... SOLID 💯 👊🏿
His statement on 50 Cent is not true. New York loved Dr Dre. We dont crown 50 Cent as the best because AS Gipp said He was not a technical rapper. Hip Hop started in New York and we are nerds about it. So we are into the technical aspects. That would stand to reason why Nas Biggie & Jay Z would be considered the best.
No it's because they black balled him in NY and he flipped it back on em once he was up..that's why he barely had collabs with ny rappers out of g unit...Nas Nore and handful of other artist..Fif gave Ny a lot of shine and it's undeniable..Fif made Jay z retire remember that..and Fif is a bigger artist than Jay globally..
@@rugahmel No one is saying any of these artists are not bigger globally. I said, In New York, and I was born and raises in the Bronx New York, I said 50 is not thought of as BETTER or a TOP MC. GIPP said it was because of Dre’s Beats. 50 Cent is NOT a better MC than Jay Z. Yes 50 may be a bigger artist globally. But 50 Cent cant beat Jay Z in a street corner MC Battle. Just Like NELLY is a bigger artist than KRS ONE BUT he is not a BETTER MC.
@@rugahmel Also 50 was not “Black Balled”. Some artists were upset that he said their name in “How To Rob” so they would not mess with him and some artists AND record labels were AFRAID to partner with him cause he had a price on his head. Who wants to get caught in the crossfire? No one.
@@FAMEAcademyNY bruh irv gotti literally said he told music execs if they fucked with 50 irv wouldn’t do business with them .
And Jay said himself when 50 came out all of rocafella had to fall back and until 50’s wave calmed down lol Jay dropped albums 96 97 98 99 2000 01 02 03 then took a 3 year break cuz 50 was running shit .
I love Hov but these are facts .

DMX's ability to tell a detailed, complex story in a song was unmatched, only NAS and Biggie came close but DMX mastered that. I feel like you can take most of his songs (not the singles) and write a script for a tv show or movie based on his lyrics.. ATF is a good example. Tupac is my no.1 but he was not that good of a story teller but he was amazing and the absolute best at weaving in a message into his music and connecting with you as the listener on an emotional level and that's because he believed what he was rapping about. He really was that revolutionary questioning the system, so you felt it when he rapped about it.
You should listen to more Nas. His storytelling is unmatched. One Love, Shootouts, I Gave You Power, Rewind, Small World…so many amazing stories
Checkout Scarface
His storytelling was on point too
@@Don.M. Right, Undying Love, 2nd Childhood, What Goes Around, Mastermind, Last Words, No Idea's Original, Black Girl Lost, Beef, Money is my Bitch & many more
Brenda's got a baby is one of best storytelling rap songs. He was good at it just not the best at it
dmx used to talk about raping peoples kids in front of them...he and biggie say some very weird shit at times.
Man I'm from Mississippi the deep deep south and boy this dude speaking facts. We never mess with Jay Z on the radio and nowhere else but DMX and 50 cent was on our radio all day and the clubs down here played DMX and 50 Cent. The streets in Mississippi was feeling them but not Jay Z. It's clear Jay Z has backers and gatekeepers behind him. I actually bump Jay Z but most people I know don't.
One thing we can say is, all of the emcees you mentioned can really RAP, AND they had a time where they all dominated radio. Fast forward to right now, how many emcees that are lyrical get any play on radio and in the clubs, or streets for that matter? At least give Jay Z and all of his peers from that era credit for keeping HIP-HOP and lyricism alive.
From Amsterdam I back this 😁👊🏾
