"When we spend a lot of time doing something, we automatically assign VALUE to it." WOW. That applies to so many projects, practices, work, relationships, etc. etc. etc. "You start to act according to your intention and that means that you just don't have time for things that no longer align for that and it makes it easier to understand what to say NO to." These are the two quotes "book-ending" this session. THANKS SO MUCH!

This is so amazingly liberating. My ADHD is not the minimalist type, I don't strive for simplicity. Yet simplifying the demands on my time and energy means that my butterfly of a brain is finally free to flutter around. After 4 years into Bujoing but finally really nailing it this past year, it feels like things just get done by themselves. I hate getting things done 😅 but when it's a 2-minute task that brings me closer to my life goal? Even my brain doesn't see a problem with that!

Yearly intentions and reflection is always daunting.
Yearly intentions need deep consideration. Often I rather leave blank than fill with the unnecessary.
Weekly Intentions and weekly reflections is where it’s at. On a week by week basis. I’ve given up on my yearly intentions lol. I rather just do things on a weekly intentions basis and focus on that. Every day is a fresh start.

I’ve only recently become familiar with the 2nd brain concept and was working out a way to use parts of it in my Bujo, when this video came out! 😲This is one of the most useful discussions about information organization/productivity I’ve encountered. Tiago has a depth of perspective about designing systems that support what you need and want to accomplish without becoming overly detailed or complicated. It is something that works well with the mindfulness of Bujo. Good stuff. Thank you Ryder and Tiago!

I am new to bullet journaling and taking away so many great things. Thank you so much. If I was allowed to make one wish, it would be that weight loss wasn't used so often as an example of a virtuous goal or priority. The diet mentality is so pervasive that perhaps it feels harmless, but I wonder whether there aren't other examples that are more healthful and helpful. Like resourceful language--more on that, please! Thanks, again!

I had bought myself a stack of random notebooks at a consignment shop in a variety pack for the purpose of journaling and writing my thoughts out and it just so happened that a bullet journal happened to be one of the notebooks that was in it. It had several pages torn out of it so my guess is that at one time it belonged to someone who probably was at a loss as to how to start bullet journaling, or found it daunting and so gave up on it and donated it; at which point it waited for me to discover at the consignment shop. Most of my journals act much the same way a junk drawer would that one would find at home; serving as catch-all's for all sorts of everyday pocket things, thoughts at random that just need a place to be safeguarded to free up space in my mind so that I can function better with more clarity, however I never gave my personal journaling much thought or structure. I think that bullet journaling is going to be useful for me to visualize my time management and assist me in making more informed decisions with what to do with my time. I believe that my journey into bullet journaling is going to be a fun learning experience.

Hi Ryder, could you explain what Is the main difference between the future and the monthly log? I want to start a bullet journal and i think i would confuse the two easily (in terms of events..why should i write them on the future log too of I already have them in the monthly log?) I appreciate your work so much, and thank you for the sweetest smile :)

You do the Bujo as you go thru the year, so for instance, if you are in February and learn about a conference you want to go in August, you register for it and then write it on your future log under August, since you don't have that month set up yet.

Future Log is simply “not the current month.” You can pour a cup of water from bucket #1 to bucket #2, and vice versa, but don’t try to keep the same water in both buckets at the same time.

I need advice about a journal I only half-filled in a year. I want to put in a new future log but if it's halfway through the book it won't be so easy to find. I tend to put tabs sticking out the side of my pages when something is important but when I do that too much then everything is hard to find. How do you set up two or more years in one book, when you didn't set it up already in the beginning?

    • @kimwoodhouse7891
      @kimwoodhouse7891 Рік тому +1

      You have a few options:
      * Go ahead and create the Future Log on the next available pages. Then note those pages in the Index in the front. To make it stand out, highlight it, put a symbol next to it in the margin, or write it in the top margin.
*Put it on the last few pages of the book.
*Take some blank paper and tape it to the inside front cover of the book. You could take a standard 8.5 x 11 piece of paper, fold it in half to create a little booklet, then tape or glue one side to the inside cover.
*Create your Future Log, keep it loose and tucked into the back pocket of the notebook, if it has one.
      Hope that helps.

I have always loved notebook use, task tracking, notes, plans etc. I am retired but loved the use of prevously popular GEODEX. in this I put all of the organizing parts of your method. Since retiring I have searched for something that I could integrate into this part of my life and your system is perfect. As always personal customization goes a long way to make it perfect for you. Your presentations and your personal belief and committment to this comes across so clearly and calmly through your presentation,. Thank you for designing and continuing to move this concept forward and evolving.
