Thanks for the nice and informative video! I'd recommend using torque wrench for tightening and manual torque specs instead of impact gun + cover all threads with anti-sieze, which will help to prevent threads rust in future
I work on cars for a living and as such, I just don't have time for that. That said, for the owner? Yes, take the time to do everything by the book if you can afford to.
Good Refresher Video! Had to do this on my 03 Outlander back in 2015. 6 years later, both need to be replaced again. Thank God for Lifetime Warranty. Seems like they last for 130K to 140K Miles. On a good note, I do have 274K U.S. Miles on my Outlander and it keeps on going!👍
Your video is very clear. I haved had Hard time finding the parts for my mitsubishi outlander 2015 cv axel. They come on male type but when I took out looks female end. My cuestión is both sides come female or jus one side? And were you recomend find the cv axel beside than dealer because is very expensive
Pulling the same motor out to set timing on same car. Also doing a valve job.. that's why the extra work.. Because of that, I can clean and oil treat engine compartment.
@@FarpointFarms Sounds good. Do you know the transmission fluid capacity for a drain and refill? Can't get a solid answer. I've seen 3.5 quarts, 5 quarts, and 8.1 quarts.
Being a mechanic is literally one of the few jobs out there where the phrase "Get a bigger hammer" actually is said often and... IT WORKS! There are very few parts that won't come apart when the use of excessive force is applied.
I have a 2003 outlander AWD, can you remove the drive shaft that goes to the rear wheels with a floor jack? I have to replace the gas tank. Great videos btw👍👍👍
You have great tutorials Erik question, have you thought about the idea of having a second camera filming from another angle and present them in a split screen presentation?, I think it would be a cool idea???. Thanks for sharing your time. Kind regards,Eric Dee
Wish someone covered the passenger side. I have 07 outlander and did drivers with help of this video but can’t find anything similar to the passenger side and I couldn’t get it apart :(
It should be the same as the driver side. I do recall it did take a little more "Wiggle Jiggle" (Replaced Both in 2016) using a flat blade screwdriver for it to pop out. But it is time for them to be replaced once again...
@@BLACKNIGHTKNIGHT how much force is needed when reinstalling the right side axle assembly? seems i still have a leak at my axle seal that the axle is not fully inserted. i didnt wanna jam it too hard buti guess i have to
I have been looking for a replacement part for my 2010 outlander GT. Part # 3815A374. They want almost $2000 for a new one. I will never buy one again. Lol
@@FarpointFarms It is the front right CV axle. I have ordered two but they were both wrong. Trying to find an aftermarket part to match that number. I am also in Canada so the costs are crazy.
Well, turns out this car is a POS. After re-doing my full suspension and fluids, I was exited to finally drive it. Well drove it a few times and no it's in complete limp mode. P0606. ECU related. And once again, zero information online so I'm stuck.

Thank you, did this awhile back using this vid, straight forward, easy💪🏼
Thanks.
3:07 Totally agree. We could avoid any possible damage on the lower ball joint boot.
You made that look easy! Wish I had a rack. Thanks for posting video.

I bought mine on eBay. The axle may have pulled out the inner part out with it. See if it's stuck on there.
What happens if that inside seal is damaged?
You replace it. That's actually the whole reason I'm watching this vid, so I can just replace that seal
Where did you get the cv axel lol they hard to find
I think I had to shop around, if I remember it was not too easy back a few years ago
What brand of impact gun are you using ??
I have Kobalt one- I have been pretty happy with it.

So what is the torch specs? You didn’t say?
You can find that info online. I have to look it up for everything that I work on.
@@FarpointFarms I’ve looked I can’t find it, no one says it
Then go with the German spec. "goodentight".@@juliegelinas6939
Just bought one. This is a very difficult vehicle to own. Hardly any information online, no forums, and they are very scarce in junkyards.
I agree. They are really good cars, but it is nearly impossible to find info on them. As I continue to work on mine, I'll post more info.

Very good job brother thanks for the info 👍👍
Good Job 👏
Made it look easy . I woulda had a sawzaw and cutting torch out in 10 minutes. I have no patience anymore

I will give it a shot with my next "How-to" I do have an older Sony "Bloggie" that might work well as a close up shot.

What about the rear axel
It is very much the same job.
Does anyone know what the difference between a 2015 transaxle and 2022 transactionalist
Sometimes there are just subtle differences. I know that there are also multiple parts for the same model year-- Frustrating for sure
Is this the same process as a 08 lancer gts
The ball joints on a Mitsubishi fail if you even look at them wrong. I understand not wanting to pop it out.
Oh man I’m saving for a lift like that. But how skeptical are you about standing underneath for a long time?
I have ZERO worries at this point. This thing looks scary on video, but it is totally every bit as safe as any automotive lift can be. NO WORRIES!

GETS SOME LIGHTS ON YOUR WORK
Agreed, I did upgrade lights after filming this one
a lot of noise in the audio and you cover the camera
You are a blacksmith, not a mechanic.Because some nuts have to be tightened according to the specifications.
You have clearly never worked in the industry. This is the German tourqe spec. "Goodandtight". Ha!
