Same. We are told to not dwell in the past, but at the same time, our past is still important to each of us because it shapes us into the people that we are today

I think Disney’s “Christopher Robin” live action Winnie the Pooh has a good, level way of talking about this subject.
When I saw Menoa's flashback I felt her pain because I personaly feel the same way with everyone around me tell me to let go and grow up. It is not that I can't let go of things like Yu-Gi-Oh and Digimon it is more that I don't want to give up on them because they were there when I needed an escape. I didn't focus my life on that but fact is I can't give up on something that makes me happy, in that light I will say that menoa had a noble cause but in the process made a wrong move
I never realized how much my love for this franchise as a child inspired the "never give up/drawing strength from the people who love me" type of attitude that helped me through rough times as a young adult until i rediscovered the franchise in the last year or so.
Rather - I think those traits drew us to the franchise as kids & helped us all embrace & strengthen those traits which already existed within all of us - to one extent or another. Whichever is true, you have to give credit to every generation of writers for keeping those themes/message central to Digimon.
My interpretation was that the Digimon would be reborn when the DigiDestined children as seen in the end of 02. They would experience childhood again through the eyes of their children like parents do when sharing their old toys with their children
Well,Digimon represent out childhood in our world and our passions.The boys grew up and forgot it is okay to be like a child sometimes and follow their dreams.I connect Kizuna with Zero Two ending by thinking that Taichi and Yamato finally found their passions and know what they want to do and learned it` s okay to be a childish sometimes.That is what I like to think.
That's honestly how I always understood the movie's message. Taichi, Yamato and Sora lost their digimon because they no longer made room for them in their lifes. Joey is older, yet he and the other children still have their digimon because they seem to realize that you don't need to give up on your childhood self in order to be a responsible adult.
I really like this interpretation of the movie's ending. It gives me hope that Taichi and Yamato will find that healthy balance between their inner child and adult responsibilities, and that they'll be able to meet their digimon again. Sora too, for that matter.
The fact that Takeru and Hikari never lost their digimon puts a bright light on an otherwise very down ending.
That said, I did like how they handled Taichi and Yamato's parting with their digimon. It wasn't this drawn out goodbye. It was abrupt, they were just suddenly gone, followed by a long quiet moment to take in and reflect on what just happened.
It's was a bitter pill for sure, but well executed I thought.
After such a painful parting, if they can really eventually be reunited, it would be such a wonderful moment to witness.
Even thought this movie was great, for me the cannon ending is the 02 series ending.

The movie had us all in tears not knowing how the chosen children get back their partners but this simplifies it

I didn't think I would since I started with tamers as a kid but dawn these guys managed to get out as King like Aten at the end of YGO DM back in the days

I want Digimon to become as big as pokemon, if not bigger. It is such a underrated franchise and have been swept around, while pokemon continues to be relevant...

I like this theory, especially because we have had confirmation in interviews that the original ending in 02 is still canon and it doesn't really make sense if they end the original anime's cast (aside from TK and Kari) with Last Evolution.
Reminds me of Susan from Narnia. She stopped believing in Narnia, seeing it as "childish'. Because of that she was left out of the New Narnia. But like Matt and Tai, there is hope.
The cruel thing is that in Narnia it means you know, Heaven, so Susan will be damned to Hell.
This isn't the first time the English translation got it wrong. Oh well, I like the Japanese interpretation way better.
I had a lot of pressure on em as a kid to be grown up and act older than I was. I think it was a combination of growing up in a very religious household and also not being a conventional person. The pressure of pretneidng to be something I wasn't started fading when I went to college and I was surrounded by people who didn't care if I was a nerd. If anything, becoming an adult has brought me closer to the kid I wanted to be. I get to enjoy Digimon without being picked on, and have a job, and kids who like the same things I do. Besides the aches and pains, I love being an adult because I get to enjoy the kid in me again.
I’m an adult but I enjoy drawing playing video games and reading comics just because we grow up dose mean we don’t has give up the things we love

I watched Digimon Adventures Last Evolution Kizuna in the morning but never payed attention to the DigiDestin losing there Digimon as well so I'm going to watch the movie again tomorrow morning and pay more attention to the ending
I have had this theory since I first saw the movie. I remember arguing about it with a couple friends who hated the movie cause of the message that growing up means you have to leave your childhood behind
kizuna is horrible for adventure lore, but it's very sentimental in a mean way
Interpreted this way it feels less like telling us to move on and more like a commentary in the state of the fandom pre-cyberslueth. Fans neglected the series to the point where they stopped localizing the games even they even canceled the fusion dub partway through and appmon never even got one. If the fans wont even watch the anime when it first airs then why even bother? It feels like them telling us to not neglect our digimon again or they really will vanish just like agumon and gabumon did.
That interpretation gives me the feels a bit. On the business end, the suits just want our cash but on the creative side, they put their heart and soul into making digimon what it is i think they really care about the fans and seeing so many say they like digimon but not support it must have felt almost malicious.

They've said in interviews that they get their Digimon back at some point after Kizuna leading to try get ending of 02
