    Do you agree with the choice for the highest recommended Digimon Game?

    • @pat1r1ck
      @pat1r1ck Рік тому +1

      Number 4: structurally it should be like almost maybe similar to like dawn or dusk which would be a pain
      Number 3: more for those who wants to fight as digimon
      Number 2 and 1: I think would be the most interesting one.

      @TheOFCMedia  Рік тому

      @@pat1r1ck I was also surprised that number 4 was recommended so much, but each game appealed to different types of players.

      @@TheOFCMediaI never completed my dusk gameplay because I was so tired of the unimaginable amounts of encountering digimon and getting lost by the mazes and I believe I was maybe half done

      Thats sounds like a horrible experience, I wouldn't have continued either. I've actually heard that as a common complaint of multiple digimon games, players giving up or losing interest.

    • @pat1r1ck
      @pat1r1ck Рік тому

      @@TheOFCMedia i think mostly giving up, dusk and dawn definitely especially if the games are similarly structured to them like the digimon world DS, Digimon Story Lost Evolution and Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars Red. losing interest is probably around digimon reArise and Links (which now the servers are terminated) because everytime new digimon appears, old digimon became more obsolete because of power creep.

    The English patched “Digimon Adventure” is in your B-roll and that game is a 90’s kid dream 🔥… enjoy

    Digimon World 4 on the GameCube was my favorite for years. I have a lot of fond memories playing with my cousin.
    I had no idea what digimon was, but the game played so well that it didn't matter. It was like a hack and slash with a class system and RPG elements where you'd get new gear and upgrade it.
    I would still play it today if I had the means.

    • @TheOFCMedia
      @TheOFCMedia  Рік тому +1

      I definitely understand why some people may prefer a hack n slash style Digimon game over turn based mechanics. Maybe they might make a new Hack n Slash digimon game.

    There is a game I recommend but it's a fangame but it's pretty fun. Custom sprites, grinding, ect ect. The first game was so successful in fact it gets a 2nd version. Waiting for the 2nd one made by DragonRod. "Digital Tamers Reborn" is the title for the first.

      I've heard of this, I may cover it in a future video. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Digimon World is my fav, but it is absolutely inscrutable for newcomers. I think cyber sleuth might be objectively the best entry point, but there’s also a ton of shallow dialogue, which makes it not my favorite.
    As a diehard digimon fan and huge fan of the games, I’m honestly at a loss as to which is the best for newbies. They all have their caveats.

      I noticed multiple caveats as well, that's why I felt the need to mention different options for players.

    grew up playing digimon world 2 and 1 followed by 3.
    i absolutely love 2, the music, the digimon collection, the story was good.
    now for 1, i replayed it on my psp back then. it was so fun collecting digimon town members, its by far the best digimon game ive ever played. no handholding, the bashed in picture as background was wonderfully done. just amazing.

      I also thought Digimon world 1 was one of the best. Wish they would have improved on it.

    I HATE cyber sleuth a ton, i played the main story (not hackers memory) almost to the end but was really burned out and didn't see a point in continuing. The game's plot is pretty dumb and only interesting in certain, very rare moments, but most of the story feels like filler. There is a huge list of megas available to get, but a great deal of them are useless or impractical to use, mainly due to the existence of defense piercing attacks, which really looks like it's there to sabotage itself as a game. It makes no sense to NOT get digimon that doesn't have a defense piercing move and the game, more or less, relies on you doing this.
    People praise this game a lot and i did give it a lot of opportunities, but as an rpg, it's a flop, i don't see what's the appeal on this. I really wanted to like this game, but it was a massive waste of time for me.

      Based on your reaction, it would seem that the general standard for Digimon games is relatively low. Many other Digimon games had worse reactions from audiences.

      @@TheOFCMedia Forgot to mention, my digimon background comes from Digimon World and DW: Next Order. Next Order's plot is also pretty dumb, but i gave it a pass because the game is pretty entertaining, but also because i'm biased towards the original DW references that are in the game. I don't like the human characters, but it's ok because the gameplay loop is unique and fun.
      Meanwhile, for CS, i don't have such background that most fans probably have so my opinion on CS will be based on what the game has to offer by itself.
      It breaks my heart to see that both Next Order, but specially the original DW are bashed so much by the community, but i understand it is outside of their comfort zone, this is why we have a freaking digimon visual novel...

    • @Solidlauti
      @Solidlauti 11 місяців тому +1

      Man that's because you are digimon wrold 1 type of dude, like me. You get that DW understood the true essence of the franchise. To this day it is still the most unique experience digimon has to offer, and there is just no other game like it. Not even redigitize or next order, even though they are fine, were able to get close to that sense of adventure, mistery, and discovery digimon world had. Don't even get me started with the visual aesthetics and the music, man. What a game. Sure, it's not perfect, having to put progression on hold to raise your digimon again is not for everyone, but come on, you can't make a digiomelette without breaking a few digitama, am I rite? K bye

    • @DarkOmegaMK2
      @DarkOmegaMK2 11 місяців тому +1

      @@Solidlauti I swear i tried to give CS a fair shake, i played it with the mindset that it's an RPG game and so i judged it with RPG standards. Even then it wasn't pretty great later on as the story seemed to delay too much, too much emphasis on side quests and the plot reveals or twist, for the most part are not good (I'll admit there is a select few good reveals).
      And as i mentioned before, the dependency on defense piercing attacks really kills the variety that the game otherwise has, aside from certain niche cases, it is counter productive to have digimons without defense piercing moves.

    I would take Digimon World 2 over World 3 personally.

    • @TheOFCMedia
      @TheOFCMedia  8 місяців тому +1

      Based on the battle system, visuals, or overall game experience?

    • @kelwdavicuddui5677

      @@TheOFCMedia A mix of things, Mostly the battle system and the greater pool of Digimon you can get there's a lot of digimon you can get in World 2, it's also more straight forward as Digimon World 3 is very obtuse and sometimes feels like it's wasting time. Whereas World 2 can just mark 3 dungeons and tells you to go at it and complete em, it's straight forward.
      Definitely not the visuals though, the Visuals in Digimon World 2 are extremely simple and basic. Like a lot of the visuals exist enough just to convey the idea of something and that's it. lol

    I'd say for someone who never played a digimon game or watched a digimon anime season Digimon Adventure PSP and Digimon World Data Squad are good turn based with linear structure to anyone to just pick up and play
