Fantastic action around the Huey P Long Bridge on both sides of the Mississippi River! Central Avenue is a great place to watch train. Just don't get caught behind a slow-moving freight. Speed limit off the bridge is 10 mph!

If I'm not mistaken that crew should be the NOPB bridge crew. From what I was told be a NOPB crew member a few years ago only a specific crew that's trained can bring a train across the bridge. It's kind of like how there are river Pilots that bring ships up the Mississippi to New Orleans.

The horn on that NOPB locomotive does NOT sound like a locomotive horn. It sounds like a large boat at. And where are his flashing ditch lights, just before the crossing at 3:33?.

What's a CSX train doing on a UP track at 12:31?

Interestingly, I visited that railway crossing just off the bridge when I was in NO a few years ago. It was very active.

The units you're referring to are SW1500's not MP15DC's. Also the reason NOPB is using their own power verses using UP C45ACCTE #7353 is to avoid having to pay UP for the operation of the unit on NOPB's trackage/time. In other words by using the unit, NOPB would be accumulating horsepower hours owed to UP, and as a result would have to reimburse UP for those operational costs/time. Consequently by keeping the unit isolated and not part of the active consist it allows NOPB to use their own power to move the train and subsequently ferry the unit along without racking up any operational costs owed to UP as a result. It's a pretty common thing in railroading.
-Almost 19 years working for UP (scary as that is to think about).

What is that thing you show us at 18:12 ? What a shame we can't keep the graffiti off the freight cars.

Why do you have mbmars01's video as yours?

I thought that same thing at first too but this actually is a different video. I suspect that the owner of this channel and the owner of mbmars01 are friends and were filming together on the same day. Proof of this being that if you look up mbmars01's video titled "[4Y] Congested Railroad Network in New Orleans, LA, 03/05/2017 ©mbmars01" and watch it along side this one you can see noticeably different editing in parts as well as mbmars01's video has a lot more color saturation and clarity to it due to him using a higher quality camera. Again I thought the same thing and was about to rip this guy a new one for stealing content but it is in fact a different video. It just so happened to be recorded along side mbmars01's video so the content was very similar. Hopefully that clarifies things.
