It's always been interesting to me to see Will's nervousness when Skylar starts telling her story, as if he's uneasy about what their reaction will be, but obviously you can see that tension in him subside when she delivers the punchline which gets a good laugh. There's so many subtleties that you can pick up within the actors' performances in this movie, which is one of the reasons why this has always been one of my favorites.
I think he was uneasy because he has build such huge walls that he can't open up with anyone and he knows that and he is wondering whether he will have ever live that moment with a women when he'll wake up one day on his 50th anniversary.

This is actually what most guys do when one of their friends have a girlfriend. They invite them around and have some drinks or go out for dinner. It adds to the realism.
The drunk uncle joke is based on a true story I heard at a rugby party in 1989. I told you it to the USNA rugby team and it made it to the internet. I was stunned when I heard this retold in the movie.
The only problem with this is the stupid bleeping everytime someone wants to use a swear. Thankfully or fourtunitly I have this movie on DVD. This is one of my favorite movies. Thanks.
The Mary/Paddie joke is much better when you've a full pint of Guinness in front of you......... No need to spell it out but you can imagine the effect when there's a full Guinness head and what that would look like!
When Casey Affleck says "He's always telling stories when he comes here" and the next line from Ben feels ad libbed. That pause Ben takes before saying "I guess I have the floor now" seems like Ben thinking of a retort before getting back to the script. Worked out well though.
There was this English guy called Dave playing golf !! He was just about to tee off at the third when a funeral procession passes by on the road on the edge of the Golf course ! The hearse at the front is decorated with flowers on the coffin and on the roof in the shape of " Goodbye loving wife and Mother " , " Farewell Mum " and all that sort of stuff !. Dave stops play and turns towards towards the funeral procession takes his cap off , bows his head , sniffs , wipes a tear from the corner of one eye puts his cap back on and then turns around and with a whack of his golf club drives his golf ball off the tee and down the fairway ! Well Dave's Golfing Partners were astonished, in all their years of playing together they had never once seen anything like this from Dave or seen him show any such emotion ! Over come with curiosity one of the golfing partners decided to ask " Dave what was that all about just then when that funeral drove past ? " . Dave replied " Ah well it was the least l could do really ! l mean after all , we had been married for nearly 35 years ! "

I mean no offense by this but what’s the significance behind “the pour” for Guinness? I very rarely drink and even rarer is it a Guinness and have been wondering the awe behind the pour all my life but have been too ashamed to ask anyone..
@@lukekelchner5471 Its more complicated but in short Guinness unlike other drinks requires a slow two staged process for it to be poured correctly. The first stage pours about 2/3 of the glass slowly at 45 degree angle and then it is let settle for a few minutes. Then the final amount is poured and the tap and glass is adjusted to finish off the head and left to settle again for a short period. The type of glass and temperature also help and the nitrogen in the drink helps make the iconic white head. When poured incorrectly and rushed like other beers in bars, there is almost no head on the drink and if there is it is usually very small, flat and dirty white. The main drink is usually a dark brownish colour when poured incorrectly too. Ideally the main part should be almost black in colour, with a pure white head almost 2cm in height. Any Guinness drinker or Irish person can spot when this iconic drink is poured incorrectly 😁
Unfortunately the subtitle is incorrect and that wasn't the punchline. The punchline isn't "Give us a kiss" as everyone thinks (which isn't very funny or makes any sense). It's "Give us some kids!" Which is hilarious because the couple have been together over 50 years and don't have kids.
