Thank you so much Hoon. You saved my coffee machine when it started making a strange noise and lost pressure. My gasket ring had been in use for 3 years and was gross 🤢
Hi Hoon, i purchased a second hand Breville machine, and I am currently cleaning and giving all maintanence/cleaning procedures I can find in the internet. The only thing I havent done is the gasket replacement but now Im going to give it a try. I tested if my coffee machine was able to reach the espresso zone by watching some of your other videos (by using the dual wall portafilter) but all I got was pressure between 3 or 4 o’ clock . Is there any chance that the gasket replacement could solve the problem? Thanks and congrats for your channel!!
FYI I just used the MHW 3Bomber .18 puckscreen and it was an amazing extraction! Have you tried it yet? Thought you would be interested since it just came out last week 😊
They create the actual seal for your portafilter. So, if you see that you have some water leakage outside of the portafilter, then it's a big sign that your gasket has run its course. Another sign is that you start to have to turn the portafilter more than you typically would, which it would usually lock in the direction pointed directly away from the machine (6 o'clock). Commercial use should be replaced about once every 3 to 6 months. But, if it's your personal one, that you use once or twice a day, then you should replace it about once a year. The longer you go without replacing the gasket, when needed, the harder it will be to take it out, because you will need to remove it and any broken off pieces thoroughly. The earlier the gasket is replaced the better.
When it starts to feel too loose. My portafilter was no longer fitting snug when my seal was getting too old. It took about 3 years of being used daily before I replaced it.
This video saved me a lot of money! Sent it to breville to go get the diagnosis and was quoted $250. This video and $10 on amazon saved it!

For my Breville I tried Cafelat silicone gasket. Loved it. Best quality gasket so far!
A great video, clear, straight to the point and easy to follow. Thanks heaps ❤
Your guidance worked perfectly for my Barista Express. Thanks!

I have an older 800 model and the area that the group head is attached to is quite rusty and dirty. Is there a way to replace that part?
Thanks for the help with this. I’m not a fixit guy, video made it easy.
Love the new gasket.
Thanks heaps!
I put a new one in. Less than 6 months it was squirting water out the side

Why do you need to replace this silicone ring?

Thank you. 😅
Seal on my machine just let go, mid shot it started running up over the sides of the portafilter. Machine is 8 years old. Time for a new seal 😂
I can't turn the screw.😢
I had that problem. I used wd40 to loosen it, which worked.
