    My mother use to peel the plantain cut them up and put them dry in the sun, once dry she would use her mill and grin them into flour then make porridge, I loved it so much.

    I have never had this porridge before but I do know about it from other people. I thought that they boiled the water with some spices, but I guess that I am wrong. It looks like sago. 🇬🇾🇨🇦😍

    I use to made that back in the days,,,,will perfer to stir the grated plantain in a cup of cold water first then pour it into the boiling water, that way it's not going to have all those lumps when finish.....
    Thank you for the vid. Will makes me want to give it a try again

      Yes, mixing it in cold water first would be a better thing to do.
      Thanks for watching.

    I’m in my late 20s and I know too well about this. It’s delicious. My mom used to make this or sago every Sunday. I would prob blend it up in cold water then add the mixture to the pot to avoid lumps. I have some plantains and will make some later this evening.

    Hi thanks for the video.... just one question my daughter is six months old can I give her this to drink? Please let me know thanks.....

    • @RealNiceGuyana
      @RealNiceGuyana  4 роки тому +1

      Yes you can , but since she has been drinking something else, do not make with too much plantain at the beginning.
      Make it light at first and then increase the amount of plantain you use.
      The reason you have to start with a light mixture for babies who has been using something else is that the change can sometimes cause constipation
      This plantain porridge is usually used for babies 9 months and older, Patent Barley is usually used until then, but if you want to give her Plantain Porridge now at six months it is better to use the Plantain powder and mix it thin.
      You can buy the Plantain Powder or you can make it yourself by drying the plantain first then pound or grind it in a mill and then sift it. Use the powder only after sifting.
