If you ever run into that situation, just get a mirror and position it in front of the cabinet so you can look at the screen in the mirror and not have to worry about reaching to the back while trying to view the screen and possibly getting shocked.
Yes. As long as it's not smoking, you're ok. There's basically no resistance running through those (even though it's a resistor), so that's why it heats up.
Yes. You are correct. However, it comes with a regular 2-prong AC power connector. There is a large ceramic resistor that gets extremely hot without the iso, but works fine when using the iso.
Any standard arcade ISO will work. The reason being is that not all homes/businesses have the same A/C. Some are dirty and some are clean, etc. For instance, the chassis comes with a normal A/C plug for the wall, but if your A/C isn't the best, the tall white ceramic resistor will heat up and crack, thus ruining your chassis. This particular model is recommended to use an ISO for that reason. Just do a search on ebay for "arcade isolation transformer" and you'll be all set.
How do I connect up my cabinet's degauss coil(2x 2-pin connectors: a red pair and a black pair) to this universal board? Replacing Neotec NT-S501(just chirps, no video) in a Chicago_Gaming_Company built cabinet.
That's normal. It will actually smoke if there's no iso. If it's NOT smoking, I'd say you're ok. Most of the ceramic resistors on any chassis get pretty hot.
nice videos, how did you adjust the contrast, i cant get contrast like you did, when i have gray color instead dark picture, when i turn down brightness it becom to dark
Hello. My brother and I are restoring this Big Red with an MVS single catridge Arcade. We already replaced the Chassis (429H) and the power supply. We have audio and controls but video only sometimes. What happens with video is that if we connect the AC GND we get this vertical noise on the screen ( ua-cam.com/video/tSJle4LVva0/v-deo.html ) and if we don't the video works sometimes. I don't see any connection between the chassis and AC GND. I already checked a lot of time all the connections and even the AC is strictly as it should be (L, N, G). I know Chassis 429H only has L and N in the power cord. JAMMA seems to be wired correctly and we haven't changed it. The new power supply is giving + 5V and +12V to the MVS with no problem. I can't really understand why is this happening. I was reading about the iso power supply instead normal AC power cord but I am not really sure if this is our problem. Any help is really appreciated!
Great informative video! Thanks for sharing all that info! Stupid Questions: #1. What determines the ohm's levels? - A healthy monitor/yoke? #2. Can I buy a 25" TV and run the ohm test on its yoke the same as a CRT? If the readings fall within your stated numbers does that mean I can use a tube from a TV? Thanks again!
+SkeleVision Studio You're welcome! #1. Yes, and the windings. #2. Yes and no. The socket has to be the same and have the same number of pins, but otherwise, yes.
Ok cool mate, not really a issue for me i am in uk so we get rgb scart as a standard , simple cable really to attach arcade stuff to a normal tv. Just as an experiment I was going to try use one of thease chassis on our tubes, saves space in a cab if you could just extract a tube from a tv and not the boards too and use this. Hope that makes sense
incredible stuff Sir......is there a little list of CRT´s that will work with it for sure...as I still dont not buy one..... join us on Facebook - The M.A.M.E. Project There you could post some screenshots of your super crisp-picture :)

I'd like to see you do a playthrough of Neo Turf Masters because I think some of the reactions we'd get would be so funny!

great vids, glad to see a different machine up this time.
Wait... did that game say "emargency" at 1:52? Someone in the translation department was slacking... lol.
+Amra The Engrish is quite strong in these Neo Geo games. "Emargency" is but a tiny tip of the iceberg.
Where do you get that little module so I can connect where do I go to buy it
So whats the best choice, cap kit or buying a universal chassi?
Where did you order your 161 in 1? Or is it something else?
AA - Would love to get a 1 slot and get one.
With that module can you fix the 29:
you have any video to how set up that chassis?
nice videos, how did you adjust the contrast, i cant get contrast like you did, when i have gray color instead dark picture, when i turn down brightness it becom to dark
Only option is adjusting the color pots in combination with the screen pot and brightness pot.
Gorgeous Arcade monitor , is this the same on Ali Express ?
Similar but not the same. The current ones aren’t as good as this one.
What is the model number of the chassis you bought?
If your yoke windings are within the correct range, then yes.
Have you still got the Vision Pro LCD

I called for the arcade monitorbut they said they don't make them no more so I saw your you too and I think I hope I can fix

Hi buddy , do they make the neck board only in this pinout or do they have multiple options? Crttv to arcade crt I am trying to achieve
Sorry, but I'm not sure.

8 liners is no more? also are these standard res? med res? Vga? i have a cple mons that need chassis.
glafd i found your vids, thanks for sharing.
Ajaxaxxess It’s standard res only
Oh man.. such a cheap replacement.. too bad it only handles stan res..
thanks for the fast reply man.. stay grounded!! :)
Ajaxaxxess You’re welcome but it’s very important that you use an isolation transformer.
They wont work for either of what i need.
didnt part 1 say you do not need a I.T. ?
Ajaxaxxess They advertise as not needing one, but that’s not true. What exactly is it you need? A medium res replacement?
My William Terminator 2 when out hopefully the monitor again
these things are 50 bucks on ali now
Great job and very helpful review video my friend
Did u have an issue with r804 getting hot
Getting hot is normal but with an isolation transformer installed, it won’t explode like it will without one.
@@YourMKArcadeSource okay yeah I was wondering because it's hot really hot and I do have an ISO installed
Yes.
That resistor is 140 ohms at 25 watts.
what emulator is this?
It's not an emulator, it's neo geo mvs with 161 in 1 mvs cartridge i presume. I have the same thing.
I'm pretty sure that model needs an isolation transformer.
" it a real bastard " LOL
Model #429H
