  • Finally ... the 4K version of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
Großglockner Hochalpenstraße - is the highest surfaced mountain pass road in Austria. Connecting Bruck near Zell um Zee with Heiligenblut via the Fuscher Törl at 2,428 m (7,966 ft) and Hochtor Pass at 2,504 m (8,215 ft), the road which takes its name from the Grossglockner mountain, is one of the bucket list roads for most European motorcyclists.
Officially opening on 3rd August 1935, the road was used for the International Grossglockner Hillclimb the very next day. Racing from the town on Fusch, the 250cc motorcycle class was won by the Italian Bianchi on his Miller Balsamo, the 350cc class by Viennese Hermann Deimel on Velocette; and the 500cc class by Michael Gayer.
The video is the section from the toll booths at the northern end of the Grossglockner (Zell am Zee) to the café at Edelweissspitze.
