Großglockner Hochalpenstraße Roadbike North Ramp Descent (Grossglockner High Alpine Road)

This is my descent from the Edelweißspitze (2.571m / 8,438ft) to the Ferleiten Toll Station (1.151m / 3,776ft), the North Ramp of the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße (Grossglockner High Alpine Road)

The climb is insane - uploaded the video of the uphill climb (and me suffering) to my channel. My old road bike has a triple chainring with 52-42-30 and the cassette for that trip was 12-27. For the last part the 30/27 combination wasn't enough... ^^

Great video! Im here cause i just passed the glock test on the weekend, unfortunately without video. Thanks for uploading and reminding me that, yeah, its awesome ...but its also f'ing terrifying.

Thanks and congrats! Going up is tough, but also fun - and breathtaking in several ways. ^^ Descending wasn't that terrifying as I had new tires and brake pads and pretty new brake cables. And the fact that I knew the road from ascending plus driving by car several times helped a lot, too. So the only surprise were the horses. 😆
Still need to descend on the South Side and still need to climb up to the Franz-Josef-Höhe, where you got the best view towards the Goßglockner and what's left of the Pasterze.
