    This is incredible. Knowing that cameras never truly capture the grandeur of mountainous terrain, I can only imagine the awesomeness of this place based on how incredible it even looks in this video. It looked like the road got narrower as you neared the peak.

      Indeed the gopro can't really do it justice. The road got extremely narrow for the last bit, at one point 2 cars ahead of me trying to get past each other nearly scraped paint and the cobblestones really had my suspension working. Absolutely worth every moment.

    Magnificent report in this beautiful region of Grossglockner. I like your live comments in English that I can understand although I am not very good in this language. Thank you for this moment which brought back lots of good memories. See you again on UA-cam ✌✌✌

    Greta video, made me want to try this Road! How is best approached ? Starting from where to end where? Tks in advanced for the help.

    • @inthewind773
      @inthewind773  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks, ride it if you get the chance! The decision on the approach pretty easy because it just depends on which side of the pass you're coming from. In the video I ride north to south from Ferleiten to Heiligenblut. South to north is also great and provides a different perspective. Once you get to the end you can always turn around and go back the other way if you've got the time.

      @@inthewind773 tks for the fast reply! I will be going there from Italy so I guess I will “attack” it from the south Side. Doing it again on the way back may also be the way to go..

    This is great! Rode the Grossglockner 2 years ago.... What is the settings you have for your GoPro please?

      Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video and your own ride up the pass.
      As far as the GoPro settings, it's been some years now but I'm sure I had it set to a max iso of 100, low sharpening, flat profile and either an ND4 or ND8 filter on. Because I filmed in the flat profile I applied a LUT in Resolve to bring back the colors. I don't recall if I made it from scratch or just modified one of the included LUTs. Hope that helps!

      The road up to the Edelweissspitze is very narrow indeed. Besides, a motorcycle is always much more exciting than a car!

      @@inthewind773hey! I'm going there with a friend, also mid september. How was the temperature? I think we'll need a warm sweater under our jacket as well right?

    • @inthewind773
      @inthewind773  11 місяців тому +1

      I remember it was still quite warm in the valley on the particular day I went, around 18-20 C, but it dropped around 5 C to ~14-15 at the top. A warm layer under the riding jacket is advisable and you can always peel it off and throw it in the panniers if it's too much, plenty of spots to pull over. Enjoy your trip, mid Sept is a great time to go!
