Is there any sort of heat shield between the trans and engine (behind the flywheel) I get this weird tinny noise when letting the clutch out, seems to do it more in reverse. Also did you pull the trans without removing the subframe?

There isn't any sort of shield but yet we removed the subframe.

Do you recommend ACT for the MK7 GTI? Every time I see South Bend, RSR, Black Forest. I know there better because they cost way more but is a ACT good enough? I'm

I'm looking at getting a new clutch as my throw out bearing is screaming. What's the labour time for a job like this? I have a clutch in mind, so would like a general idea of what the labour will be :)

Liam Collister i got a qoute for 650 for a full clutch kit install from a local business. hope this helps give you a rough idea
