i like the #3 Sideboard Semi Trailer, especially for risky roads, while the sideboard can prevent you from loosing your load, they give you a second chance
The stepdeck trailer has a very low center of gravity and greatly reduces the risk of losing cargo and can even save your truck in places you normally couldnt make it but it gets caught on the ground.
@@Dosedmonkey still much better then Stepdeck in my opinion. I used it in Alaska and that thing is pain to reverse for being a semi trailer. The rear axles of that trailer are far apart from each other making it harder to reverse. Not that it can't be done, but the sideboard is much better. Stepdeck is mostly for like Highways and stuff, may be add in some dirt roads 😂
+ overloading tons of long logs, 6/level, so 12 long logs is very helping. For discharging, if the crane can't grab packed logs, just flip over the trailer :)
I agree with the Step-Deck at #1. A factor you seemed not to talk about though is stability. The Step-Deck being low and the widest of the saddle low flatbeds, it's actually quite stable. You can use this trailer with even tippier trucks and there is a good chance the trailer will stop you from rolling over. It's why I actually don't like the blue flatbed and sideboard. Those blue ones have no rolling resistance, if your truck goes over those blue trailers go over. But the Step-Deck actually does put up a fight to keep you upright. It's the main benefit of the 2 slot flatbed over the 2 slot sideboard as well. While the sideboard is easier to pull behind a truck, it flops around a lot and you need to be careful where you drive because it will tip over easily. Whereas the flatbed while more difficult to haul around, it's a lot more planted and stable and rarely rolls. I actually do use the 8-slot, I might not use a solo 8-slot as much now since I can do a Twin-Steer/FEMM combination + a ramped flatbed if needed. But still that's only 12 cargo. Especially back in Yokon 2 KOLOB's with 2 8-slots hauling 16 cargo was helpful in getting that mine done. But yeah in general I can get a 8-slot around maps, KOLOB's are good at MAKING them go places they may not normally want to go. lol Biggest issue I've ever had in going back to Michigan and trying to get one of those trailers around that tight turn on the Smithville Dam. Other than that I can manage the 8-slot in every other map in the game. I agree it's not the easiest, but I can do it.
Right now, i’d say that my favourite is the side-board semi-trailer. Second is side-board trailer. Those side-boards have saved many of my loads from falling out in places where the flat trailers spill them to the ground.
6:50 the 3 axel places an axel closer to the front making it slightly less likkely for the feet to snag. The 5th wheel platform is smaller though so you need to find smaller trucks, i think it can still fit the scout fuel trailer.
Another thing about the 4 slot gooseneck is that it has some sort of railing that (in front of the wheels) gets caught on EVERYTHING. Without that, I really believe the small wheels causing a low ground clearance wouldn't be as big of an issue, especially with how massive, powerful and high most of the trucks are now.
I like the wide flatbed semi trailers, because not only can you load a scout onto the front area, but also a scout fuel trailer, which can increase the range of the truck significantly while towing the trailer.
There actually are two aspects where the flatbed trailer is better than the sideboard. First of all, if you roll your truck with the trailer, the flatbed, due to its high sides, has a chance to keep the cargo within itself so when you flip your truck back, you only need to repack, whereas the sideboard nearly guarantees the cargo will get dumped. The second thing is, the flatbed trailer is accessible by the forklift where as the sideboard is not, which is crucial when transporting those cabins for missions like the ones in Yukon.
you have some mistakes in your comment. you said "the flatbed, due to its high sides , has a chance to keep the cargo " but flatbed has not got high sides, only sideboard trailer has that. And you could load and unload cabins (or containers) with cranes, there is no need to use forklift 😂
IR's Gooseneck trailer mod is the answer to all your cargo problems. If you are dealing with logs then OlSom's trailer pack is what you are looking for. Add Foxcrf45's off road trailers mod to add the ability to lock the dolly and the hitch connector making it easy to back up pivoting dolly trailers and it also adds new off road wheels and suspension to vanilla trailers making them much better.
I use all of these mods plus BigDubz420's PB Trailer Pack which adds three smaller pull behinds that have manual ramps and are very good for transporting ATV like IR's FoxerATV quad mod.
Bruhhhh glad someone mentioned the backing up with that sideboard trailer…. Like wtf how the fuck are you supposed to do that?! (My actual job involves backing up a scout ford truck with a double scout trailer at the end of everyday into a storage unit. Needless to say I’m shocked I couldn’t figure it out.)
Backing any trailer is stupid in Snowrunner, the wheels don't track properly. To back a dolly trailer, you need to double counter steer. When backing, you have to actually back the dolly, not the trailer. You use the dolly like your truck and use it to steer the actual trailer. It is silly, but it can be done. Wide semi trailers shine when you do manual loading. I used the 2 axle wide semi trailer to transport 12 metal beams in 1 trip, then do the same thing again with 24 wood planks. If you don't manual load, though, it is functionally pointless to run them over the standard sideboard or flatbed.
I think one thing you missed as a benefit of side board traielrs that might make them better. Is being able to unpack cargo and get thru really boggy areas or at risk of tipping over without them falling off. Because cargo weights less when unpacked. I hate this feature but its hard not to take advantage
Its funny you call it a "feature" instead if calling it what it really is..... cheating. Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself and all the missions you've basically cheated on to get past...😂 You hate the "feature" but just can't help yourself 😂😂😂😂 it's called cheesing the game. My top three go to trailers #1. Flatbed Semi #2. Sideboard Semi #3. Stepdeck Semi I will explain it in a different order tho. #2. Sideboard Semi Excellent for smaller sized cargo. It keeps them secure in the trailer if it starts to tip. Depending on the truck towing it, depends whether metal beams and concrete slabs will go in. They are very heavy in the trailer and it’s already a fairly heavy trailer as it stands. Depends on the truck and the route. #1. Flatbed Semi This trailer is very light to tow and its perfect for large and medium type ordinance. If i haul large ordinance, like the oversized cargo in the sideboard bed, it does the opposite effect of saving you by keeping the cargo in the bed. Once the trailer begins to tip and the cargo unpacks, it proceeds to push against the sideboard causing the full tip. Even if you winch to a tree, sometimes the container will win. Plus its a pain to load it back in as it hits the sideboards. The flatbed semi makes it easy to load and if you start to tip the cargo can unpack and slide off keeping you from falling with it. And all you have to do is load it back in and there’s no sideboards preventing. #3. Stepdeck This trailer maybe well sized, but it can be heavy for certain tractors. I use this one most for the oversized cargo. Its wider, heavier trailer helps keep it from tipping. And certain cargo it just looks better aesthetically. Overall i place the Flatbed Semi as my #1 because of how light it is. Any truck can pull it with ease. It’s small enough to not get caught on trees and it can be ideal in some situations when transporting medium cargo contents.
Yeah, I've mostly stopped using sideboard beds in general. I do manual loading a lot, probably contributes to that. Flats are really nice for manual loading, usually not too bad if you lose cargo since I always have a crane too
I strongly disagree with the ramped flatbed trailer i think it should be #1 1. Its the best option for everything if you dont want to use big ass semis 2. U can have up to 7 cargo slots if u use a long flatbed and this trailer 3. It has really good ground clearance vcz of the front wheels 4. It has a ramp so u can put vehicles on it
I use the internațional 5070 for the 8 slot with OHD1 tires - one of the best trucks for high sadle - did not stuck anywhere with that truck , the downside is you need some support/fuel stops
The 2-slot flatbed is better than the sideboard in that the former has a longer tongue, whereas the latter can sometimes collide with the cargo bed on some trucks (especially with a crane mounted.)
Unfortunately, the downside of the 2 slot flatbed trailer is that it weighs over 7 tons! That's heavier than even the 4 slot ramped trailer. Plus it has 2 extra axles. You feel that weight and drag, especially early game when your trucks aren't upgraded.
@@Rage_Spammer great comment. i think that no one think about weight of trailers itself. I was mad when i had problems to pull Heavy lowboy trailer (or 2 slot flatbed trailer) with some cargo, but then i saw list of weight of each (semi)trailer I know why I had problems to pull them😁
ik its far fetched but it would be nice if the devs would let us adjust the trailers to our liking, make the toolboxes and tanks usable. change tires for better ones, add ramps to the bigger trailers for hard mode players so they can transport all their vehicles instead of back and forth trips. id like to see some sort of storage for trailers like what we have for trucks so im not having to buy multiples for each map, just take the ones i have already bought

The Stepdeck semi trailer's rear axles are far from each other which makes it harder to turn(atleast for me). Hence I find it incovenient. Comparatively, Sidrboard Semi and flatbed semi trailer have closer rear axles, so reversing them is much easier. And it's up to what type of use are you going with above 2 trailers. For Eg: If you are going through some risky roads where you feel like your truck will lean a lot towards one side, where there is high chance of cargo getting unpacked, use Sideboard semi trailer. For a bit safer routes, normal flatbed semi trailer will do fine 🙂
I prefer sideboards to flatbeds, because despite the slightly more difficult loading, the sideboards can keep the cargo in when you go over a banked road
Sideboard trailer has a shorter hook up, so if you have a crane on your rig... Which you need to load the trailer. Then it collides with back of the rig.
For me the flatbed semi is goated because I like manual loading, but I can see people preferring the sideboard semi if they do automatic loading because you basically have to flip it upside down to lose cargo. Can't agree with the stepdeck because its long wheelbase and low frame make it almost as space demanding in turns and as likely to catch on the ground as the gooseneck, and as someone who always transports cargo packed I gain nothing from the extra space in the front.
sideboard is always better than the flatbed imo. quite a lot of time, if the truck is on the side, and the cargo is still somewhat loosely in the bed, using the tartan you can push the truck back with two of the cargo still on the, just pack the cargo once it is upright.
Yeah but then you can just use the Step-Deck and more than likely just never roll over in the first place. You don't need the sideboard to then maybe keep your cargo on.
The best trailers are those large trailers using high saddle with 5-6 spaces. The sideboard of flatbed trailers of low saddle are horrible. That Gooseneck trailer is the worst of all and it gets stuck in everything. I use Western Star Twinsteer or FEMM 37-AT because they have 4 slots and that helps a lot. When i need a lot of cargo i can winch another truck instead of a trailer. I only use trailers for a piece of cargo superior to 4 slots. In my opinion and personal experience with Snowrunner all the problems i can have with an unstable truck as WST or articulated FEMM can't be compared to the nightmare trailers are.
i rather use any truck with crane and sadle low + semitrailer than risking of loosing cargo in first curve (or obstacle) when using twinsteer or Femm. And if you have nightmares of trailers, you are probably doing something wrong.
@@peterv8459 The terrain causes problems,Kenworth 963 with a high saddle is the best but not just this. Trailers are bad to use because it's not practical and you need to buy them first at trailer stores that aren't allways in your garage. I'm not a fan of the ramped trailers, because the ramps always seem to catch on trees and power poles when the trailer is leaning over even a little bit.
Flatbad trailer is harder to move in the mud than sideboard trailer because the flatbad trailer has 4 axels and sideboard trailer has only 2 axels. Logically it is harder to move 8 stuck wheels than 4 stuck wheels.
In reality, it actually makes it easier to move since you are spreading the weight across twice the surface area, making it less likely to sink in and better able to roll across. Snowrunner mud is nothing like real life mud.
@@danielhomant2832 actually, you are right. And in reality, when trailer sinks into deep mud due to heavy load, it most likely don't matter how many sank axels you have on it.

7:22 - best trailer for long logs in hardcore mode)))
sideboard is always better than the flatbed imo. quite a lot of time, if the truck is on the side, and the cargo is still somewhat loosely in the bed, using the tartan you can push the truck back with two of the cargo still on the, just pack the cargo once it is upright.
Once i deliver cargo with femm or twinsteer i can just recover and get out from my garage.
Femm and Twinsteer aren't perfect but if i am carefull they offer simple option for cargo than hauling big clumsy trailers.

-kenworth would be really OP, if it would not lack in power and steep hills climbing ability...
-twinsteer is almost the best basic game truck, especially after one of addons, which added AWD to it, BUT STILL u HAVE ONLY ONE ADDON FOR TRUCK ITSELF-FLATBED, EVEN WITHOUT CRANE...
...even Kenny 963 has one...
-winching another truck is nightmare, waste of time, fuel (i know that is free, but still), worse performance at all, in longer terms is worse than good trailer...
@peterv8459
not every saddle low is good enough and often provides:
-low ground clearance, low truck performance (while wit flat/board bed and the same trailer is better),
-front lifts (GMC's, all, Fleetstar, sometimes western stars)
-not every truck has low saddle...
I think ramped flatbed trailer should be lower on the list, because it gets stuck easily on tight roads
@@danielhomant2832 that flatbed (empty) weights 3x more than sideboard trailer
@@peterv8459 no really, sideboards are much more reinforced than flatbeds, they are used for different cargos...
don't mix flatbeds with underconaier trailers, they are really heavier...
Do a video off you complete a mission the worst car and trailer after do a same mission to the best truck and the best trailer
Hey, come here and in the first trailer, that load that is not stacked does not fall.
Hello
Are you from iran ?
Your accent is like them
Thx
But the log trailer makes medium log hauling not take a century...
i think that stepdeck semitrailer is too long, it looks almost like 8 slot semitrailer to me. It is better to use flatbed or sideboard semitrailer. than stepdeck.
I think that goosneck and lowboy are so useless. Superheavy is better. You can also transport one more cargo or vehical on superheavy. And I don't like flatbed semi because it is for some reason heavier than sideboard and cargo fall down from it. But I agree with the stepdeck!
i started recently and really confused about different trailers.
some are in trailer store and some are in garage and also so many different trucks and scouts 😥😥
do i sell the trashy GMC? and is it needed to replace the starter blue chevy scout? these scouts in this video look cooler thanks anyone 🙏🙏🙏🙏
you can sell gmc at first, and buy a better truck like paystar 5070.
then you can buy gmc back when you unlocked the AWL upgrade.
@CyrusTheContentCreator cant cos gmc awd is in a paid DLC region lol
il look into paystar ty.
i also found some blue royal truck in alaska which is my best truck now 🙏🙏 but the tires are trash and i cant get good tires yet
Definitely worth checking out the Snowrunner subreddit for lots of new start tips.
Scouting to unlock the watchtowers and upgrades is very important. As you level better tyres become available which is a great help for scouts.
The Fleetstar at the first garage is solid for early gameplay.
Paystar 5070 carried me through Michigan.
With exploration you'll unlock White Western Star, Twinsteer, and P16 thatvare great trucks and free.
@@joshuatester8197 Oh oki ty 🙏
did you get the free DLC trucks the red one and the white CAT? they seem really trash compare to royal and dont even have AWD. did your keep them too?
Pointless to have a winch connected to the trailer to pull it you can't load nothing on the trailer has to be connected to the truck
I can't stand the #5 sideboard trailer. It's too bouncy for my taste. And i would have sideboard semi trailer as #1.
