I found this game by accident at a yardsale. This was shortly after my very first experience with final fantasy 7 and my very first rpg experience. I loved this game. One of the happiest accidents of my life.
I got this as a bundle from my Playstation purchase when I was a kid. It was never played until the first 6 months then I went nuts playing this for a year cause the puzzle was just hard for a kid me
IMHO you should try Wild ARMs 1 and 2, its a must in the JRPG list of PS1, and its one of the rare example of the western release opening theme can stand toe-to-toe to its original
Seconding the comment of everyone here, it is worth the shot. You don't have to play Wild Arms 1... even though I loved it. The amount of puzzles, tough fights and the storyline here, along with the soundtrack make a remarkable game.
I believe I need 3 months to beat this. I discussed with my friend every lunch break whenever I stuck. I mean the puzzle and tools utility was hard sometimes
One of the best openings to a game ever. The first time I heard this I knew I was in for an epic adventure. Still gives me the shivers just listening to it.
Man, I watch the second opening and think "Ah, this is the best intro", then I watch the first and think again "No, this is the best" ....Can't choose one Only one word to define Wild Arms 2 openings EPIC (especially the trumpet solos)
I don't hate the Japanese vocals but God damn that trumpet is one of the sexiest things I've heard in all my life.Edit* And that is how you necro a thread
I like how both times the trumpet kicks in there is a character standing on top of something treacherous looking for seemingly no reason besides getting a cool shot. Great game and great intro btw.
This is my favorite game opening song ever and this game is my favorite game ever. I grew up playing this game along with Wild Arms 3 and loved them both. Now I am replaying both and loving them so freaking much! and this makes me love the game all over again each time I listen to it!
I was 10 when I first played this. It was my first introduction to false flag attacks. A crisis created to unite a group of people against a common threat. Great story and game.
@@nurjeanchaneco2710 true. And that time youtube is not a thing yet. You have to reset the game or intentionally have a game over ti hear it again hehe
When I have the game as a child, first thing I go every morning before going to school was to play this, not because I want to beat it, but because of the music. It was the most wonderful music ever, and it's still is and very touching. I miss this. Why can't openings of game be just as good, I know there are some good ones, but sometime just music like this get the point across better.
oh gosh this brings nostalgia when i was little I watched my big brother played this game on saturday night and I fell asleep on the floor in his room and when I woke up in the morning he was still playing. edit: shared this video to him and he remembers that moment even after 20 years, best game intro ever.
Tuấn Trương here is a forum that should help sorry for taking long www.gamespot.com/forums/system-wars-314159282/confirmd-new-wild-arms-game-in-the-works-with-sony-31187736/
its good to hear that wild arms 6 is coming to the ps4. but I personally wanted the rest of the wild arms to be remastered. at least wild arms 3 to 5 and be put into the ps4!
Remember when i finished this game with just a english dictionary at 13 y.o (english is not my native language) i don't believe it till now that young me can finished this rpg with many puzzle things without guide, without someone help, and limited in language.
@ageant01 That's like saying "Hearts on Fire" or "Eye of the Tiger" would be complete songs if it was just empty background music without the vocals, The song is pretty empty, because the THEME of the song is "You'll never be alone, no matter where you are" Just music on its own does not convey the theme, the words are mentioned quite often in character appearences and the ending theme of the last boss battle is Ashley vs Lord Blazer, in which he seems to be "alone" as he has to fight
watching this brings back those warm memories I miss my childhood LOL never quite finished this game (stuck in the last boss where each person must face a boss 1on1 and I always died when it's marivel's time because I never got her any new magic LOL) aside of that,,,one of the greatest RPG I've ever played indeed (sad my PS already broken :(( )
I was surprised when I found that the Japanese version had singing. I actually like the instrumental a lot more. I know their are some people out there who love hearing Japanese lyrics but this just seems to have a better feel for me. It just goes to show that their are many instances where words aren't necessary. That's just my opinion though. What a wonderful tune.
@chinangel You talking about the London Expo ? .... I saw some games there too but i had everything i could ever want anyway....Vandal Hearts 1 & 2 .... Suikoden..... Breath of Fire.... FF 7 & 8 ..... Grandia.... Wild Arms..... I cant think of anymore off by heart right now.
the guy with the long platinum hair should be the chosen one. his good at spells, sword, archery, tactician and inventor. too bad he got injured and now he can't use some of that abilities T_T I feel sorry for him... such talents.
You know it was the golden age of JRPG when Something like this got buried.
😢😢😢
I felt sad too.. 😢
Not for me. Got this and a PS1 with the attachable mini screen for my birthday at SEARS. that's gotta be the most outdated sentence ever

Classic game. U dont kno what u missed with that one. That was a true rpg
Wild arms 1 and 2 are by far my favorite games that have ever come out

Anytime you fire up Wild Arms 2 , you HAD to sit through the opening. Too damn good not to.
I could never skip it. I didn't care if I had to reset the game too, I still listened to it.
There were a few games like that. This one, Chrono Cross, Suikoden 2...
So true!
You didnt HAVE to, you WANTED to

I got this in 1999... even worse, 25 years ago! I still get goosebumps though.
Underrated series. This is what makes me play till today. Great music, great storyline, great games. Used to be full of these gems lying around.
This gem never get old
This whole series is one huge underrated gem mine that needs remasters/rereleases everywhere. 2 and 4, imho, are masterpieces.
it still blows me how fluid and hyped this opening is from a game of the psone era... thank you
Blows me too, all night long
The trumpet solo!!! 😍😍😍 still the best epic opening song I've ever encountered
Every time I drive to Arizona and New Mexico I play Wild Arms music. It fits the Grand Canyon and other places like Sedona.
2019 and still an all-time favourite opening!
So true!
I really want to play wild arms 2. Right now I'm playing the first one.
Me 2 😄
More than 10 odd years later and this piece still keeps a special place in my heart
This intro brings back so many good memories
I keep going back here from time to time and the feels never disappear. The magic is never gone no matter how many times I watch or hear it

EPIC (especially the trumpet solos)
Both are equal but the first one has a great ambiance to it.
One of the best RPGs of the ps1 generation
The chord change at 0:38 is pretty epic. Really set the mood for climactic part of the song. :D
2019! And these 2 opening music still gives me the chills! 😂
This game was my Red Dead Redemption back in the early 2000s.
Still loving this OST!⚡️
Still a legend music from 1999 !
I personally prefer this version of the opening over the original Japanese vocal one. Mostly because of trumpet.
Indeed. This is one of those rare cases when an English version is better than the Japanese.
