Riggs was THE ONLY GUY I liked with Meredith after Derek! I was rooting for them so hard!!! I was so upset when they had him leave with Owen’s sister. I do like her with Hayes though.
Same feeling. It's too bad they wrote him out of the show because the fans didn't really warmed up to the guy after Derek but I'm sure that looking back, many fans would recognize now that he was the best after Derek. I like Hayes, he's a vast improvement over DeLuca, but still not as good as Riggs. They should have made DeLuca Meredith's first romantic relationship after Derek as her first step to move on. Had Riggs came after DeLuca, everyone would have accepted him much better. Unfortunately they made him the first one and that was doomed to fail with the fans.
I feel like nothing will ever replace Derek. But I do believe Riggs could have possibly been the next best thing and the same for Riggs and Megan. There’s no love stronger than Riggs and Megan and if Megan was dead I believe that he and Meredith would have been a great couple. It’s why Meredith is so understanding and okay with it all. Yes Derek was her epic love, and she did see something in Riggs but she also knew that if the opportunity arose and was the other way around then she would choose Derek.
mcdreamy she wasn’t just like Derek wasn’t him. Megan was his epic and Derek was her epic. If Meredith heard what he said she wouldn’t mind just like if Derek came back and she said that Nathan wouldn’t mind cause that was their dream.
Riggs was the best addition to the storyline by the writers and the shittiest move to let him go... Riggs and Grey had awesome chemistry... the first I saw after Derek... and nothing since then really shouts chemistry

Riggs totally could've been Meredith's new guy buy not with his back story at all. I liked Deluca but the writers never committed so we couldn't invest then they went and made him mad then dead lol. New guy now I don't know not feeling the Auzzie accent but who knows

He gets to have one more chance, a longer life with the person he loves which she couldn't ever had again since Derek's gone. If Meredith had that chance, she'd choose Derek without any hesitation. I would too

This is weird... I feel for Mer to be put in this awkward situation I liked Nathan but this was difficult to see. I am glad he left the show. Mer could have had him but I mean he pretends he is so deep in love with Megan but still he cheated on her when they were together, is this the thing you do to the love of your life? And then he proposed right away... He is so dumb with his relationship with Mer so unclear to all (except Mer and him it appears) Meredith deserves a new guy. Someone worthy of her. I mean Derek could be an ass and in Patrick Dempsey's last season that storyline with that blue eyed doctor in Washington made me really disappointed in him, now I would like to see her with someone new
Thorpe was a hottie and a nice guy but too tall compared to Ellen Pompeo's height, it was a bit weird how much taller he was. But still I preferred her with Thorpe rather than with Nathan. I really liked her with Nick Marsh, too bad he did not come back for a couple more episodes, at least so that Mer and Marsh could date for a bit. I am interested in seeing how the thing that is going on between her and Deluca will develop. It is blantly obvious that they will end up in bed at some point, they are hitting it too hard every episode of this season and both characters seem to be really attracted to each other. It is bit strange that the actor is 20 years younger than Ellen but to tell the truth, Deluca does not look like a kid, he actually looks older than 30 years old in my opinion and they look good together
I mean, if we're going there we can't fail to mention the only reason WHY Merder even formed was because Derek left the East Coast (finding out his wife cheated or not) and bailed to move across country. He never once told or was honest with Meredith from the moment they met and even after they established a relationship of any sort, that he was married. She had to find out from the Mrs. herself, at HER OWN place of employment. Talk about humiliating and unclear and uncalled for.
Remember later we find out that it was Meagan that cheated. She told Owen when they went on that road trip together. Also, I feel sorry for Meredith because for 5 seasons Derek was her only love interest her man even when he decided to go back to Addison besides Finn Derek was the only one and then they were married another 5 seasons until he died so now she gotta move on and the men they have tried to put her with are great but how do you follow a handsome dreamy neurosurgeon? Now at the 16th season she owns a big chunk of the hospital and she on the board and shes the chief of general surgery and she has 3 kids and a house and a car and she won a harper avery. Whoever she gets better come correct because it's alot of shoes to fill.
So he wasn't the saint that everyone seems to think. So he did cheat on her. I've only been watching Grey's for about three years now and I keep getting these clips and comments about the perfect Derek Shepherd on my tablet. It's good to know he was also a jerk as well. This is 2020 and you are right and She has met a new Doctor which I think is perfect for her Dr. Cormac Hayes a Pediatrician, at the Hospital now. It's going to be fun watching how it's plays out. Way past Dr Derek Shepherd I'm Thinking. DeLuca was never right for her, which is playing out right now. Even if he was right about that Human Traffic thing you don't break into an operating room while surgery is going on, and he did it twice. He is his father. Now I think she just feels sorry for him, letting him help her with this research she's doing on another patient. Dr Hayes also has two kids, he lost his Wife Abigail to cancer two years ago, which according to him shouldn't have happened "like Derek", and he is still bitter about that " can't say I blame him". So this is one of the reasons why I think he is perfect for Meredith, and he has a great sense of humor and a super personality. So I'm curious about this question he has for her in this season finale. Hope it's not the obvious, maybe something cute and off the wall.
