Dude, thank you. I started replaying MGSV recently because I got it on sale. While I LOVE the game (as I always have), when I started losing against more than 70% of the FOBs I went after, I felt like crap. This video is not only funny, informative, and considerate, but it's gonna help the likes of ME do at least a little better when it comes to FOBs. You've earned my sub and my respect.
As a new player to this game, and as someone who has just unlocked the FOB missions, this is the most detailed, thorough and helpful of all of the FOB guides on UA-cam. Even though I play on PlayStation, this video is invaluable knowledge and I appreciate the effort that went into making it👌🏻💯👍🏻
Thank you for making this, I am not a newb at the game but I am at a point in the game where I couldn't just cheese my way through low-level FOBs stealing tons and tons of unguarded resources. I went from rank 65k to like rank 14k and got tons of resources in the process but now the bases I am given the option of infiltrating are night and day different from what I was doing back then. Any low-ranked players that see this, do realize you "rank up" once a day. While you are a low level, take advantage of that as long as you possibly can because once you get to a higher rank you're gonna wish you could attack some of those weaker FOBs again.
I'm gonna take a small guess here and say that splinter cell blacklist helped you choose the names for infiltration styles lmao, good and informative vid in any case
Late to the party, but kudos to the great guide. Just one small correction regarding best ghosting uniform, those are gray urban and square fatigues, giving camouflage boost on concrete terrains, as FOB ghosting is more about avoiding to be seen as much as possible than being heard (talking about the footsteps)
I like your comment on optics. I think yours look atrocious, but I am glad you use what works for you. Its obviously effective! "People are allowed to like different things" is a concept I wish more folks understood.
Thanks, Ever since I switched to snipers my base hasn't been attacked once. It's not the rifle it's that snipers have a larger sight radius meaning every single guard can see you from a platform away almost. It's kind of stupid bcuz I would like to use other types but don't want to be at a disadvantage
I’m getting started on my FOB journey thanks in part to you and your guides. I’ve got 1 fob built slowly working towards making each platform out one by one
Seeing this, and seeing assault, it reminded me of this one time that I accidentally put on my full destruction loadout with grenade launchers, brennan, and a bunch of high powered lethal equipment, and somehow managed to not get detected at all during an fob mission lmao
Love you all guys! Keep this game alive, I'm still playing too but still sck at fob infiltration lol I finish it either showered in blood or as a corpse so I'm watching this video after years again 😂😂
Also great guide. Alot of this stuff most of us have to learn over time. Planning ahead goes a long way towards winning. Also like you say, keep your load outs cheap in case you get invaded by a defender.
Watching in 2023, just picked it up on ps4 since my Xbox I was about to die, via hdmi plug being loose in the circuit board. Loved it on xb1, so nice refresher thanks.
If forgetting about one good tactic that I used and that is knock out the defender and carry him all the way to the core because he cannot wake up while you’re carrying him neutralizing the problem just dump him at the door.
Can you do a tutorial video on weapon customization? I always hear people talking about using certain barrels and pieces to make a weapon into something that acts as another weapon. My biggest problem is that I do not fully understand enpugh about guns to really effectively use the customize feature. You are one of the few youtubers still covering this game, and I really want more indepth explainations for some of the games' features like FOB, Customization and Stealing Nukes.
Zaku Guriin what you're talking about exploited a bug that has been patched long ago. People were able to add sniper barrels to grenade launchers etc before the patch. For customization, focus on making the gun quiet, auto aim, and accuracy for long range guns.
I know it’s an old guide but ya didn’t mention wearing the square fatigues, which is like 5x better for a ghost player to wear as the sneak suit only increases health regen and some very minor defense up, it offers no camo whatsoever. The squares give you good camo on FOB and makes guards take longer to spot you.
I never did a FOB before this newest event bc I wasn’t high enough level, but I just got decent stuff and now I can’t do any FOB because everyone is extremely high level aka s++, best weapons, uniforms, security upgrades. Maybe I just have to get the best items in the game.
Keep checking the attack menus, just to see if you get any lower opponents. It's possible that your ESP rank is too high, or maybe more people have been using hacks lately.
You missed Direct Contract which prevents your character from KIA. I lost 2 of my best S++ staff in FOB missions and was a little confused about why I was suddenly playing as Snake again. I got the definitive experience yesterday and I thought that makes your staff killable (Transfer). I started using new staff to upgrade their stats and I thought direct contract just locks them in the staff roster so they don't move to another platform. I had no idea that protects them as well when playing as them
The definitive experience btw was on sale for $4 so why not get everything. I also got an unexpected 2000 MP so that was also a very nice bonus. There is still much I need to learn but I'm not exactly new, just haven't played as much. I'm currently on my third waters FOB building that up 2/4 for each, dangerous but I'm trying to grind for materials for 3/4 so I can at least breathe without the fear of raids
I also made the noob mistake of making a nuke with a command platform 1/4. The intruder got killed but they got the nuke. Though I think they are either a hacker, or someone that's been playing from day one. Espg. Rank 726, PF Rank 1914, all S++ staff mainly, with 2+ million in each resource. Everything is maxed out as well. LV.75. I have no hope of retaliating against them but I was watching your video to find out everything I can do to at least get back at them. Might capture as many S++ staff as I can
Great work, very helpful. I played most of the story before touching fob missions, assumed it was some shitty micro transaction cookie clicker shit that konami forced in. As I got better at the game, I said I wished there was a hard mode and more old school infiltration and stealth. Then I finally tried fob missions, which is all of that. It almost feels like a separate mgs game made in the same engine. I'm sure konami would sell it as a full priced separate game if they had thought of it.
do i actually need to worry about my fob? i spent hours combing through side missions early game and saved up so much resource and people, are they all at risk now im past mission 21? i dont want to spend too much cash on my fob yet but i can see how much stuff i have stored online and its making me anxious. thank you for the video!
Good question, actually. The game may not list your FOB online until you perform the initial configurations after Mission 21, but even if you aren't exposed you should be aware that having an active FOB benefits you by upgrading your force capabilities. So while stockpiling resources is nice, you can do more with better equipment which you'll need to research, and you can only do that with higher-leveled teams.
there this one guy lu_do_vic he keep attacking me and one day i just had enough of it and go full panther mode kill bunch of his staff steal couple of his rss and dint get spotted xD after that i never see him again xD
I'm a real FOB noob. I understood the entire concept of all that stuff, but the tips you mentioned were VERY helpful. I can't find your video on Security on your channel, could I get a link?
would have liked to play FOBs, but 50% of the time i reach the core the game doesnt give any rewards and steals 3000 points because it couldnt get reconnected to the hamster powered konami servers. Still great video 'tho.
Also to have a good ghost infiltration you cannot destroy the FOB‘s cameras or sensors or drones or kill anybody because if you do it automatically opens a retaliatory wormhole.

So many questions ... None of my content covers the global events in detail, but I'm sure there are other channels that do. Unique rewards to prioritize will usually be weapon upgrades or max tier staff, which are by-far easiest to earn through the events versus abducting them off bases with top security. If all you do is earn enough points to grab a few S++ staff, you're doing right. Events tend to rotate every 2-3 weeks and last I checked there are 5 events: New World Order, Bound Dragons, Freedom from Oppression, Skulls Attack, and Mosquito's Legacy. That's also the order. And currently there isn't any Discord for my channel but I plan to eventually make one. I'd prefer to break 2K subs first :D
Fantastic guide! I just picked this up the other week for $20 on PSN and I'm loving it; kinda sad I missed out on the height of the FOB activity but I'm hoping I bump into some current PS4 players one complaint - take those blue boxes off the screen after a few seconds so I can see what you are doing! A little more video of gameplay of you utilizing the styles while you talk about them would go a long way - great job otherwise
also glad I spent like 60 hours before I even got to the FOBs lol, I avoided any spoilers and had no idea what I was missing out on, but I came into it with almost all the guard specific stuff maxed lol
