I was listening to Blurryface while falling asleep on a plane, and the "DON'T LET ME BE" was so intense that it legit made its way into my dreams, lmao. I was just kinda chilling in the park during my dream, then I started hearing the music when Tyler began screaming, the wind picked up, the sky went black, and the ground broke beneath my feet. I still get chills at that part, thinking about that dream.
This song hits hard when you’ve fought suicide for 12 years and still have thoughts daily . But can’t because your important to people here

hey, stranger. dont know if you will ever read this but i believe it's not a coincidence i saw your comment. my mental health was not good for years and only recently i felt what a peaceful life can be like. yet i still go back to negative thoughts, and desires that scare me. the last few days have been especially difficult. and then a random stranger on the internet offered a few kind words that stuck with me. and then i found this song i never listened too before wanting to release some pent-up anger and sadness. and here we are, so many people with their own stories here. it honestly hurts me that we are this way. but i am also happy because even in the darkness it gives us a possibility to connect. you are never alone. i hope you are alright. not for anyone else bt for yourself. cause you deserve it. you deserve all the kindness in the world.

In Goner 2012 Version, a noose is heard throughout the song with very slow, heartbroken melody which indicates Tyler gives up and let Blurryface win (Blurryface is a character Tyler created to show his fear, doubt, insecurity, struggle). The ending part of Goner 2012 Version is the beginning of Heavydirtysoul (the distorted scream which I think indicates Blurryface win). In this song, it picks up with where it left off. Blurryface is very loud, Tyler is praying for help, for Someone to save his soul. His fear of death inspires him to keep fighting Blurryface. Then it continues throughout the entire album, like a story about him fighting against his Blurryface. And in the end, the last song in the album, it's the new version of this song. He's determined to fight Blurryface once again, and it's evident he's much stronger than he was. During the buildup part of the song, you can hear a faint BF scream, it gets louder and louder, until Tyler screams "DONT LET ME BE--!!!" and the battle begins. Very loud banging, Blurryface is screaming again, but now Tyler literally screams back. And in the end... Tyler screams "I WANNA BE KNOWN BY... You." And as soon as he says "You," Blurryface stops. The banging stops. It goes silent because Tyler won. He finally beat Blurryface, and that's the end of the entire album. This song is so inspiring and deep...

The other version of Goner is so sad. This one is about Tyler defeating Blurryface. The other is Tyler being defeated by Blurryface (and maybe harming himself). That's why you hear a noose. However, you hear Heavydirtysoul at the end, which is a loop for the battle between Blurryface and Tyler.
The other Goner really shows Tyler at his worst, its scary. That's why this one has different feel for me, happier, but still...not all finished.

this song honestly scares me so much.
I saw something somewhere that made a lot of sense. So basically, there is two versions of this song. one when blurryface is defeated, and one when he wins. This whole album is Tyler trying to defeat blurryface and this version of goner is the last song on the album which is sort of the last battle between Tyler and his insecurities (blurryface). Throughout most of this version, if you listen, there are disorted voices under the music, which, I THINK, is blurryface and Tyler arguing. The voices continue and then tyler sings "Don't let me be gone" loudly and there is a loud underlying noise once he sings it, which is when Tyler attacking Blurryface. The song then becomes extremely louder compared to the rest of the song because Tyler and Blurryface are now at war. It goes on and then Tyler sings "You" for the last time and the noises stop and the song becomes quiet again which means Tyler has defeated Blurryface.
The next version, is the one Tyler and Josh uploaded of it when they were still working on it. It's the opposite of this version, one where Blurryface wins. In that version, there is no loud battle between the two, Tyler just gives up and lets Blurryface take over and win. Throughout the song, you can hear a loud eerie noise that sounds like a rope swining back and forth with something heavy tied to it, which could be Tylers body (gotta blast i'm starting to get emotional). This could mean Blurryface wins by pushing Tyler to commit suicide. At the end, the most scary part to me, Is the screech from Blurryface which is incredibly loud.
Twenty one pilots are amazing song writers, I can't even begin to put it into words. The lyrics Tyler writes are so deep and I think most of the clique can relate to them. Tyler is so poetic and he puts so much emotion into his songwriting. It truly is amazing, And I respect Tyler and Josh so much.

5 years ago today I discovered this album. Hearing this track at the end truly made my head go numb and leave me in awe with music. Before this point, I've never looked into music or learned how to play an instrument. After hearing this album, that all changed. I started learning drums, then bass, then guitar, and started trying to sing. Once I thought I was good enough, I wrote a bunch of songs. None of them were any good, but I had a blast making them. Fast forward 5 years later and while many things have changed, my love for music has only greatened and my ability to write songs is only thriving. So, I just wanted to stop by and say thank you. Thank you for these songs, thank you for your albums, thank you for being you. If it wasn't for twenty one pilots, I truly wouldn't be where I am today.

i actually hated 21 pilots until i actually really listened to them one day with out realizing it., all i ever had heard was the car radio and stressed out songs, then i heard tear in my heart and ride and their cover of can't help falling n love and i have been hooked ever since.
right. "21 pilots." if you were a real fan, you would know to at least spell it out.
Everyone has their own emotions and meaning behind this song. To me, this song reflects how I personally have two sides to myself, which is very similar to Tyler/Nico and his battles. There is my calm, more perfected, and hopeful side, then my depressed, anxiety-driven and self-harm inducing side. I'm constantly stuck in this pit of either faking it (in the trench) and being briefly positive, or being dragged into my thoughts (Dema). I am a goner, and I need to escape into the music that is constantly running through my head. Tyler and Josh have made some of the best music that reflects all of the inner demons I've been suffering with. I hope that one day I'll sever off my own ties with my depression and anxiety. And I haven't seen A SINGLE negative/ignorant/mean/unaccepting/disrespectful respond. And that make me so freaking happy you don't even understand.
