Do you guys ever do any gravel driveways with the blowers? I got a Normand inverted last year for my 1/4 mile driveway and had a hard time keeping it from swallowing up and shooting out all the gravel lol! Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Adjust your toplink and lean your blower back so that you aren't scraping the gravel off the driveway. Also make sure there is a base built before servicing.
My worries about about grinding down the main edge is now you will be leaving a skim of packed snow on the driveways. I agree doing this on the corners but concerned on how well it will scrape clean the snow from the surface. I have heard many complaints from contractors that the inverted blower leaves a skim of snow on the drives, and their clients are unhappy about this.
This method was taught to me by Jim Mackenzie. He runs 85 tractors this same way and has worked well for him. I took his advise and tried the same method he proposed to me!
@@Stefano_NarducciI am not knocking your suggestion, just pointing out you will be giving up some quality of scrape for reduction of scratching. Rounding out the corners is a brilliant idea. We only used poly cutting edges on both the wings and main cutting edge to eliminate scratching, but it came at a cost of not scraping down to bare pavement.
Yes I do agree, dulling the edge will certainly result in less of scrape. However I wanted to have the best of both worlds. Less scratches with better scrape quality and I think this is going to make a world of a difference as we have been using Polly and rubber for years…

We have in contracts not responsable for any damage to driveway as snow is unprdictable and ice build up can cause other damages to driveway not caused by company or employees. For our large lots we use carbide edges on pushers and a truck . Lasts forever. 5 years on one edge is well worth the 1700$ . Our supplier is going to fab us up one for the 92" blower by next fall after some r&d is done.
I dunno man. Stainless even with the grindined edges is definitley going to damage driveways. Ive never once had any damage with rubber or tivar. Id rather have a little less scrape then a damaged driveway but thats just me.
Hey im trying to find Accumulators for a 4066r where do I get them? Part number? I’m just starting up in Alaska and it the only thing I need! Much appreciated!
Can you do a video or speak on whether you service homes with a gravel driveway and any tips you could recommend if you do service them?
I was wondering how are the Stainless doing and did you change all your blower from Hevea cutting edges To Stainless? Thank you
Yes the entire fleet has been changed to stainless. They have been doing an incredible job compared to the hevea edges we used last year.

@Stefano_Narducci Thanks man, I'll give that a try! And congrats on all your success, it seems well deserved! 👍
@dizzyd726 thank you so much!
It really sucks that there is no skid shoe to raise the cutting edge slightly off the ground for gravel

Stefano. Do you recommend grinding the corners and edges for any metal cutting edge or is this only for stainless steel? Thanks.
I would only recommend doing this to stainless steel cutting edges.

I will consider making a video on these topics

Let me know how i can get my hands on one to try!
What type of disc are you using on the grinder?
I think a steel and metal grinder disk but i may be wrong, ill have to ask Erik my mechanic.
