    OMG!! Sam you won't believe this.... I installed my check valve backwards as well and luckily Mario from Cimaf caught it when he was tuning my head to my KX080, it had too much pressure on it and he caught it. Sorry to hear that for you though. The FAE head looks good.

    Question: Do you have an Aux hyd pump on that excavator? How can you produce enough flow on that little Kubota to run a masticator? I havd a Bradco on a 299C Cat high flow, and it can just barely keep up. I don't understand how a mini ex has enough flow to make those heads go. Heck, I've see 325's with Aux pumps for similar size heads. What's the secret my friend? Genuinely curious.

    OMG, it’s like looking through my front door😳. You can see why I mounted mine all the way back to use the thumb, never really considered the head weight balance🙄. I hope I’m not hurting anything or sacrificing control issues. I am very happy with my set up and have no problems and love seeing another one in operation! It helps validate a major purchase with a done of research. UA-cam channels rock and I consider yours one of the best! Keep up the great work and it was nice to see a bit more of your dad👍👍👍

    I see no advantage of the Fae over your cimaf? Darn sure none over cem36 from Fecon! My cem36 will hold rpms under load longer than that appears too? thanks for sharing

    We have inch and half and 2 inch hydraulic quick connects at my job. They do start to drip after a few times of " connecting" but what really kills them is when the oil gets hot in the machine.

    I ran one a few years back didn’t not like it one bit. FAE makes awesome heads for skid steers and large carriers not for excavators in my opinion, but from my time running excavators and mulching heads Cimaf is hard to beat just by its narrow width design, it’s as wide as it’s drum so it allows you to attack from both sides effectively also the tilt is awsome. All you need to do now is add a small 100HP power pack and you’ll be knocking stuff down quicker then your TL12

    • @VBELTandSON
      @VBELTandSON  5 років тому +2

      Midstate Land Clearing and Forestry Mulching maybe someday when I will the lottery I’ll get a power pack for it but hell it cost as much as the 12. I kinda enjoyed this new head. Felt like a low hp mini version of the skid steer model. Time will tell for me and yeah Cimaf is a stud on the bigger stuff

    I'm in the process of adding an FAE to a KX080, and have seen them
    installed turned both ways around. FAE is telling me I should install
    with the belt drive towards the 080, and hose connections away from the
    080. But I see you have yours the other way around with the hose
    connections towards the 080 and the belt drive away. Any particular
    reason you did it that way?

    were you thinking of Cattail? I noticed the recover time was faster with the FAE head. I guess you learn this stuff as you go along. You could always sell the CMAF head and recoup some of the money for the new head.I live in the same town as Reed Flake, in fact he announced at a rodeo near where I live last night (6th).

    Why not a fecon fmx 36? I'm doing my research and they look lighter with less moving parts. That fae looks like a lot of technology that could break.

    • @VBELTandSON
      @VBELTandSON  3 роки тому

      Hardly much tech in the Fae. Two cylinders that will open and close doors to allow you to either contain or spread the mulch. I refuse to buy a mulcher head that doesn’t come with a door to contain the mulch. To risky working around homes and road ways. Zero break downs on this Fae head or any of our other 4 Fae mulcher heads.

    I'm in the process of sourcing a head for my KX080-3 and am trying to decide between a FAE (same model as yours) and a Fecon FMX36. I'm leaning towards the Fecon as it comes standard with a DCR and a variable displacement motor where the FAE obviously doesn't have DCR nor variable displacement motor (at least here in New Zealand), it does have gates though. Did you consider a Fecon before purchasing your FAE? If so, what made you choose the FAE. Awesome video!

    I told somebody this yesterday (Nuts319 I think it was) you learn something every day, and the day you stop learning is the day you should hang up whatever profession you're in because your head ain't in it. The other thing that speaks volumes in this is the fact that you documented and accepted your mistake with the Cimaf head in the check valve..........you may not think it's a big deal but you showed the world you are human literally and I got nothin but respect for someone who can admit fault, fix it, and move forward. Sadly most people can't do this, if I screw up I'll be the first one to tell you I F-ed up.........I can't stand wasting time on the "oh I don't know what happened, that was like that when I found it" crap! Get over yourself, we're all human and you WILL fail at something and a funny thing about life is the good lord will keep you humbled if you can't do it for yourself so as bad as you want to be or think you are.......you ain't perfect so the sooner you accept it the better lol. Good on you Sam for realizing and sharing your mistake which may have helped the know enough to be dangerous mechanics like myself lmao!
    Oh......on a side note, how far from crescent city and the redwoods area of Cali are you? Our trip a couple weeks ago that we were going to loop from Utah to Yosemite and the big trees got changed to Utah and straight home and I think we're shooting for labor day weekend to head for the redwoods and sequoias, might try and meet up with you or somethin if you don't have any big time UA-cam plans already lmfao.

      @@VBELTandSON Matey you will not believe my Story, I bought the Cat brand new 3 months ago and yesterday I actually put the head on it to run it and get familiar with it, I am strange that while its clean and Beautiful its new But you got to go to work eventually, Mine has Cat Branding and I think I paid a Fortune more for it. But anyway, I cannot slew downhill at all and pull in or out is terrible as everything is going to the head and nothing to the machine. I am liking it but I will need to figure that out, But having said that, I am really impressed with the head with full pressure to it. My first ever head and my first experience so I am loving your videos with your Dad and learning allot as I go. My Work is actually removing material and then processing not so much mulching in Situ. Thanks for taking the time to respond I really appreciate it allot. Yours Truly Garry

    The steel the adapter plate on the head is not hard; The annular cutter you first used to make the holes was running WAY too fast which is why it burnt-up. The speed on the large drill bit was also WAY too fast.
