I have the Bondi 7 and LOVE them! I’m sure the Bondi 8 are great too. Since I switched to Hoka my plantar fasciitis has gone away and never come back.
I just got home from the ER. 70% of the staff were wearing Hoka’s.I bought the black ones and they get delivered in 2 days.
As a Retired SneakerHead, The Bondi 7 might be the most comfortable sneaker I ever owned....On my feet for 12 hours at work and never have foot pain or fatigue when wearing the B7.
What kind of arche e does your foot have
@@infintyplus My bad on the late reply..I'm a have a flat foot 12D and they run true to size for me...The B7 and the Anacapa hike sneaker boot are amazing 10+ hours into the wear.
@@Mize2dx that's all right I have a high arch so I don't know if that matters
I work 12 hr shifts in the ER, I was rotating between crocs and Nike free’s, didn’t like either but the nikes were soft(ish) and the crocs had lots of toe room. I recently got the Altra escalante for work and love them! Got a pair of Bondi’s the same day for my distance runs and am very happy with them as well. We’ll see I might end up rotating between the two for work eventually!
These are totally awesome love the bondi’s! I haven’t tried the altras. Are they worth it?
@@Doctor_Jay definitely! Super lightweight, “zero drop” and have the wide toe that I like, feel high quality & they look great too and I got them for $120
But to shift focus back to the Bondi’s: I’ve put about 15 miles on them so far and am really enjoying the cushion and my body feels much less fatigued after the runs! Not as heavy as they look either which surprised me
@@mikereviews596 that’s awesome man! I feel like the bondis just keep getting more and more comfortable the more you break them in so I’m
Sure the best is still yet to come
It looks like the extended heel is part of the meta-rocker design of the sole. It is extended and slightly curved so when you foot strikes on the heel, the foot is allowed to roll all the way through to the toes on the push-off of your stride whether walking or running. I have been wearing the Bondi line of shoes for years and have found them the best and most healthy for my feet and legs.
Great info. They are awesome! I only found out about them this year believe it or not!
Just ordered a pair of the Bondi SR for nursing school. Not a ton of videos on the SR specifically but so far everything I've heard is good!
You’re right, basically same
Shoe as this except waterproof.
I purchased my first pair of Hokas a year ago. I purchased the Clifton 8. Loved how they formed to my foot and felt very comfortable walking around. I had plantar fasciitis at the time as well. The Clifton 8 really cut down my foot pain by more than half.
I just started working as a Phlebotomist working in a laboratory. Every day I am on my feet the majority of the time. Recently ordered myself the Bondi 8 shoes. Tomorrow I am going to be getting them. Super excited!
Thank you for a simple to the point review!
Wow. Amazing to hear and thank you for the support! I love these shoes and the bondis! I will be reviewing the Nike infinity run soon as they relate to being on our feet all day and plantar fasciitis. Make sure to check it out!
So far which shoe have you liked better?
Which did you like more Nicole
Hi! Would u mind telling me how they worked out for you! I’m also gonna be doing phlebotomy and am looking to find some comfortable shoes since I also have scoliosis
@Nicolehubbard88 I have plantar fasciitis and have been looking at new shoes. So, it's been almost a year since you posted, and I was wondering if those Hoka shoes are still helping you. Do you still suffer from the foot pain, or has it abated?
I was a patient at Cedars Sinai medical center in Beverly Hills, CA back in march and was advised by my orthopedic surgeon that these are fantastic for me. I had a hip replacement surgery and developed issues with my knees as a result. I stand for 8 hours a day at work and hope these will help. Thanks for the informative review!
No problem at all. These are great shoes and you’ll love them.
I am a healthcare worker as well. A Rad Tech (X-Ray in a hospital). I use some Sacony that have good support and cushion. My niece is in Med School and she said she heard from others at the hospital where she does clinical rotations that Hoka are great shoes for being on your feet at the hospital. I saw some for a big price discount online and ordered some and they should arrive tomorrow. I really look forward to trying them out. They are Bondi 7 but if I like them I will get some Bondi 8.
Bondi 7 are great shoes as well I still wear mine. Please let me know what you think!
How did it go James
@@dorawaje4427 I feel that my Hoka are the best athletic shoes I've ever owned. Great support and feel. They are still holding up well. I'm 6 foot tall and 240 pounds and most shoes after three months start to have the soles compress and not feel the same after three months but so far they are holding up. If I lost 40 pounds I believe most shoes soles would not compress so fast.
@@jamesgretsch4894 what's been reducing the pain for me is stretching out my legs. put one foot on a stool or the bed keep your leg straight lean forward and pull your foot towards you. three sets 30sec holds three times a day every. Also do the calf stretches against the wall and other stretches for the lower body, glutes hamstring quads all of it
@@jamesgretsch4894 also do foot strengthening exercises including walking around barefoot everyday
I just bought them and I am walking 15km a day. They are simply FANTASTIC 🤩
That’s so good to hear I’m glad you like them!
@@Doctor_Jay I would never have been able to walk so far, without having problems, if I hadn't had such an exceptional shoe.🙌🙌🙌
I have the Clifton 9’s and they are fantastic they are a good balance and more neutral.
The Bondi 7 are much more comfortable for standing and walking on your feet all day. The 8s have a harder foam, more clunky and tighter upper mesh. I just stocked up on more Bondi 7s before they are sold out.
I am wearing the bondi 7 as we speak. I actually found the bondi 8 more to be less of a hard foam. Interesting.
@@Doctor_Jaymore to be less? What does it mean? You’re actually disagreeing with the comment?
I agree with this comment. I love Bondi 7 much better than the 8.
"Look better"? I just want comfort.
Nowadays people care about looks too.
Same.
I also work as a health professional and I do also care about looks! I mean, think about it… you pay so much for a shoe that gives you comfort but, why can’t it look good? Is the same with cars, no one wants to buy an ugly car just because its comfy. You tend to buy the one you like on the outside too :)
@@keiansandoz3635 Yep same one picking someone to date you don’t choose someone just on their insides😂
I agree. 'Look better' ??? As someone who chronically has fallen arch / plantar fasciitis pain and potential stress fracture injuries. I personally could give 2 shits how it looks I just want the support and that they last a long time.
If people worried more about the health of their feet than if they looked good I think products would be better
These shoes are a lifesaver for hospital workers like me! Pushing people around on stretchers/beds all day can be tough, especially when they're too tall. But these shoes give me the extra height I need to see over them, even when patients want to sit up. No more tippy toes for me! I'm approximately 5'6" 5'7". The Bondi eights are also very comfortable-more comfortable for me than the sevens. That being said, I feel like it really depends on your foot shape and, like you said, what you do in the field. #healthcareheroes#comfyfeet
I just purchase those same ones for vacation long walks and standing. This was 1 of the 2 recommended shoes for my flat feet.
You’ll love them . As I said in the video don’t give up on them if they feel stiff At first. They will soften as you wear them. Let me know what you think
Working in healthcare , you really need a good & comfortable shoes as you will do a lot to walking seeing patients and seeing referral. People tend to recommend Skechers but i find them to be overrated and their midsole is mediocre. I tried Bondi at a shoe store but unfortunately it does not suits me. In the past i prefer ultraboost midsole shoe as i found then to be really comfortable. My new favourite is Nimbus 25 . It really feel soft and comfortable .
I will try those out for sure! Have you tried out the Clifton’s?
@@Doctor_Jay previously i have bought clifton 3 . It was a comfortable shoe to wear .
I have heel spurs on both heel and plantar being an athlete all my life and this is a life saver for my daily. + the hoka slippers
Wow! I love the hoka slippers as well. Any other shoes give you the same relief/comfort?
Running shoe has the softest and lightest foam, so it isn't only a Hoka thing. They are call max cushion foam shoes. New Balance has fresh foam (soft) 1080v12 or the bouncily New Balance Men's FuelCell Supercomp Trainer, Nike it is the invincible zoomX, Saucony for narrower feet is the Endorphin 3. Adidas boost series. brooks Gel.
Thanks. I’ve tried all these
@@Doctor_Jay1080v13 is way more comfy than Bondi 8 and the midsole is much more compliant . Also the Bondi 8 midsole is like a brick and feels like AF1s. I think the Bondi looks great but in terms of foam technology in the Bondi series they need to catch up.
I work 12 hour shifts in a warehouse and have been experiencing the absolute worse pain in my right foot. I went to the Dr and they recommended I get a pair of Hokas but now I don't know which pair to get !
You should definitely try the Nike invincible run. It's a recovery running shoe. Super comfortable for long hour days, would be great for nurses or doctors. Plus they're less bulky and lighter than these hokas. The most comfortable shoes I've ever had on my feet
I like those shoes and will give them a better shot. I have heard that they break down quickly and that is a common complaint. I found them comfortable but almost too bouncy if that makes sense. But again I’ll try them!
@@Doctor_Jay interesting, I haven't had any wear problems. Even taking them well over 100 miles by now
@@yeet76231 I’ve heard specifically that the sole will separate form the rest of the shoe. Could just be for some people
@@Doctor_Jay yeah that might just be a quality control issue. But I get the idea of too bouncy
I own both. The Invincibles are like a waterbed and the Bondi are like a good quality firm bed. Hoka all the way !
I have a pair of Bondi 8's. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Definitely a great cushion shoe, but I don't have enough room in the toe box. I'm using shoe trees to try to stretch the toe box wider. The Clifton is supposed to have a wider toe box, but I need a stability shoe and I felt the Clifton didn't provide that for me. I like the New Balance More V3's (the V4 are the latest version). I have gone through 2 pairs of them and got over 500 miles on each pair. I heard one reviewer say they are more Clifton than Clifton. I noticed when I was a patient in the ICU one of the techs had Hokas on. I wasn't in any condition to talk a whole lot about shoes at the time 😀
Wow, thanks for the reply. I have to check those out. May be my next review.
@@Doctor_Jay You are welcome! I'll be curious to see what you think.
Hokas have good foam. This shoe Bondi 8 is nice but had one big problem, the outsole dug in my heel arch. It was very uncomfortable. I think different shoes fit different feet. If you want a max shoe, I would go for the new balance v more or ASICS gel nimbus 25 if you run into this problem with the Bondi 8. Otherwise the Bondi do feel nice like marshmallow feel. A little different from the previous version. They do run tight in width be aware. I would look into getting the EE or 4e depending how wide your foot is.
Thanks for your comment. I’m reviewing the NB fresh foams in a few days stay tuned
I seen a few reviews and the shoe seemed to have issues with stability meaning the sole collapsed slightly creating imbalance. Seeing that, I rejected the idea of the Hoka shoe. Your demonstration showed me different. I'm just looking for comfort since my foot surgery. Good review so thanks for that...
No problem. They’re not for everyone but I like them a lot.
@@Doctor_Jay They're excellent shoes but for me, a size 13, they look like canoes. As per your video, I tried on the Bondi 8's and they were more streamline and the cush on them was off putting at first but I walked around a bit and I actually dig them..thanks again for the demo..I appreciate what you do..take care of yourself..
if you suffer from Achilles tendonitis like I do, the Hokas are horrible choice. they only have a 4mm heel to toe rise which isn't enough to relief stress on that tendon. Hokas are really comfortable if your don't suffer from this issue though. I switched to some New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v12 which have a 8mm heel lift and its a HUGE difference. My Achilles tendon isn't flaring up anymore
That’s great. They make larger heels in other shoes and also you can always get a heel lift or custom orthotics go along with this.
Thanks 😊
With Hoka you really need to wear them often for over 3 months. When new they're pretty good but after broken into, they start degrading fast and on mine the arches collapsed after long distance power walks. Better shoes are Asics Nimbus, Kinsei and Novablast, or MBT anything. The most reliable Hoka is their Speedgoat 5 but prob not suitable for indoor use.
Agree. Those are all great shoes. I have worn my clifton 8’s and bondi 7’s for over 6 months indoor and on outdoor runs and both are holding up well. Everyone has a different experience due to different foot shapes and biomechanics.
Have u ever had sketchers? I'm looking for new shoes atm, because sketchers are like "fine" but never seems to last long
I have 2 pairs of them and they didn’t last long. I work mostly 52 hours per week and alternate the pairs every shift. The heel is too soft and the shoe didn’t last 6 months. Working as an RRT
I actually found myself going back and wearing my Clifton 8 over these for durability reasons. Bondi 7 lasts long too
I love them as I'm a chef and work long hours on my feet
I tried this shoe, I loved the cushion more than any other shoe i've tried. Unfortunately, all Hoka brand shoes cause me to get hit with static electric shock periodically during the day when I'm working in the hospital. Additionally, the arch rubs up in my flat feet and irritates them after a few hours, which doesn't work well on 13/14 hour shifts, so I had to return them. BUT I seem to have similar cushion experience with new balance fresh foam x v4.
Only issue with those is they have this slight "rocker movement when standing as they were designed with running/jogging in mind. But at least I don't get shocked in this brand and I've tried at least two other hoka designs with the same static shock problem. I'm 6'3 and about 260 lbs so this is my review as someone who is somewhat heavy. Currently have saucony triumph 20's brand new for trial, but won't know the verdict until I trial them at work when I go back Monday. But they feel great walking around the house in as far as cushion, but i'd buy them a half to full size higher than you usually wear.
Maybe you could review the new balance and saucony shoes I mentioned as they're very popular for cushion purposes in the runner community.
I get the shock too. I was working valet when I was in school and shocked all the customers accidentally lol
I did review new balance!
@@Doctor_Jay Yeah, I've had other medical staff shock me when making contact with me while wearing those, and the triumph I mentioned. I ended up settling on the nike invincible run 3 and new balance rebel v3. Don't get shocked wearing either. invincible run have perfect cushion without being too soft. NB rebel are slightly softer but the cushion is thin enough for the softness not to cause ankle rolling issues when I'm walking 13 hours at work.
No way! Bondi 8 you can have it!
Haha tell me more, what issues did you experience?
Back in the days,, we used Nike acg boots with insoles to walk and run on cement floors in the jails.. Sometimes 16 hours a day.. Plus fighting..
I work in the o.r and on my feet almost 10hrs a day. I've just ordered my first pair and hope they feel as good as the pair I tried on.
Perfect for the OR i see a lot of scrub techs, OR nurses and other staff wearing these a lot. Hope you like them. Where did you end up ordering from?
@@Doctor_Jay their main site!
Hoka Bondi SR are made specifically for this purpose.
Yes hoka’s are the best for the hospital!!
Totally agree!!
These looks like they have a TON of cushion! I need to try
Totally!! Unlike anything I’d ever tried before
Wow i love the new ones and the platform!!!
Yeah me too! They look so much better
I had the Bondi 7 and they put a little pressure on the outside of my wide-ish feet. If Hoka fits you, Bondi is probably great for heavier people. Lighter people may prefer Clifton. I'm a 130 lb. male and I never felt I was really compressing the Bondi foam. They also felt a little bottom heavy. The Clifton is a light shoe for having so much stack. For a similar stack with a wider toe box, I'd recommend the New Balance Fresh Foam More. I wear them for work in the ICU and I run in them, too, and they feel lighter on foot than they are.
I have to try the fresh foam. Agree with everything you said!
I've tried the More v4 and for me they were better if I was going to run in them.. They just had that rocking sensation & the drop in the shoe that made it less suitable for my walking style
@@Kmmc2011 Actually, my original comment was based on the More v3. I also have the v4 and I didn't like them for work. They're too squishy.
@@kuriosites Makes sense! Tried the Asics Nimbus at the store today and found them pretty comfortable at first go.
Would this be good for toe space? I’m starting a job in the emergency room. I have to be on my feet for 12 hr… please help, i have a normal arch. Just looking for great comfort.
Yes these have great sized toe box and good for standing for long periods of time.
Hoka carbon X3 or Bondi8 is good gor Plantar Fasciitis (for feet and back support)
Which colors are accepted at most hospital facilities in Canada/AU/USA?
Usually neutral colors are best, black or grey. But many hospitals will allow any color
Great video I need an all black pair for work
They have an all black pair on the hoka site I believe. There is a cheaper alternative the clifton 8 in my other video that has a great all black pair too
@@Doctor_Jay u said the Clifton is better for walking eh ? I stand for an hour then walk around for a couple of hours then stand again for an hour I’m a security guard do you think the Clifton would be better for me ? Thanks dr Jay
@@goat8252 hey so a couple of things to say back to this. 1) I would say go with clifton if you are walking 8,000+ steps per day and the bondi if you are just doing a lot of standing but less walking. So depends on your number. 2) it’s a great idea with these shoes to switch your shoes and only wear them every other day instead of every day. The expensive foams in these shoes act like a sponge and can’t do their job if they don’t have time to “ re- inflate “ AKA it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get both of these shoes!
@@goat8252 if it’s too expensive, the clifton 8 is a bit cheaper and you can also opt for the bondi 7 (earlier model) to save a little money
@@Doctor_Jay that’s not a bad idea Jay I think I’ll do that have you tried the bondi sr I think it’s called ?
I tried Hokas and the problem for me was the meta rocker feature. They felt nice and soft and squishy but I felt that the meta rocker helped propel me forward. I need more stability in a shoe since I've had balance issues. I prefer Brooks for this reason.
QHBPMGAD diabetic shoes are designed for elderly people. Soft and comfortable shoes!
Will look into doing a review on brooke
The Hoka bondi 8 hurt my back from being on my feet for 12 + hours and usually 16 hour shifts best shoes I found so far is the New Balance fresh foam x more v4 and New Balance fuelcell super comp trainer omg best shoes ever. I tried hoka with 3 pair bondi 7 and two different bondi 8s after that I threw in the Towel.
Everyone just needs to find their shoe! Happy you found yours.
Will be reviewing fresh foams soon! Stay tuned
Just ordered a pair!
Wow! Nice lol
I want to try them but they look so huge. But if they will help with these cement floors at work. There worth it.
They are bulky but it is by design. If they’re too bulky for you test out the Clifton’s instead. A lot of the same benefits. I have a video on it too if you want to check it out.
I wonder what you would think about the Bondi SR? I'm avoiding the Bondi 7/8 because I'm worried about fluids. It seems with the SR that might not be as big an issue.
SR is a great option, similar to these. Probably better if u are around spills often
@@Doctor_Jayisn’t Bondi SR better for the healthcare workers? They can always buy a few and simply put their soiled / contaminated shoes into the washer and soaker?
@@prescribemorecowbell it depends what you will be around, SR is less breathable and cushiony due to sturdy material, but will protect from spills better.
The 7s are way better than the 8s all the way around from the construction to the comfort.Dont fix what's not broken
I have the 7’s and I wear them more, but they are without a doubt, not a good looking shoe 🤷🏼♂️
@@Doctor_Jay the 8s look less elderly than the 7s lol. I’m upgrading from my 6s, are the 7s way more comfortable than the 8s?
Have you tried the Brooks glycerin 20? Any thoughts on it? I hear they are quite comfortable too
They're nice but the Adrenaline are softer.
I love my glycerin 20. they are great for cement floors.
I don't get it. Is it one shoe or two
What
How do you compare this to Asics Nimbus 25?
Better and more fashionable
I'm looking soft, light and comfortable shoes whatt you recommend for walking.i like softy
.thanks
If you want light shoes, I would go with the clifton 9 or the new balance 1080 V12. Pick whichever style of those 2 you like better and go with that
@@Doctor_Jay thanks i will
These are $200 in Canada 🇨🇦 😢
That’s actually good! Because 200 CAD is about 144 USD
I can't decide whether to get the Bondi 8's or the Clifton's. Im standing and walking around all day sometimes 12/14 hours for work, which would be better overall? Please help me!
I say depends on your build, clifton is more of a “ one size fits all “ where many people over 180 lbs may benefit more from bondi
@@Doctor_Jay im only 5"8 and 132lbs, I just want maximum comfort and relief from foot pain, any idea which one?
@@lolxmi_2344 I would do clifton 8 or 9 to begin. They’re both super similar, and both are “ max cushion “ design

Do u have a specific new balance you want me to cover or should I just try the most popular one?
@@Doctor_Jay no,Dr .jay, i don't have either, just need ur opinion on this.thanks for your reply.
