On the other side of the coin, I had my R3 out in the middle east desert in August. The temperature was 130+ F. The camera was so hot in the hand to the point I had to put it down.; It never stopped working!! Amazing piece of technology that's only getting better with firmware update 1.4.1. Sick! Disclamier.... I'm not getting rid of my 5D Mark IV!!!!!
I love my R3. It is very expensive and that is a major con, but I don't regret buying it. The images I've gotten off it and the fun of working with that camera makes it worth it. I recommend it whole heartly.
I love my R3. The biggest con for me goes along with what you were saying about the size, which for me is simply portability. It doesn’t fit well into a lot of bags, especially if you want to keep a lens on it. Granted, my set up is really not exactly compact anyway, usually running with the 28-70 f2 on the body most of the time, 85 f1.2, and usually my 100mm macro are in the bag, too. I’m looking for a proper backpack that balances being large enough for the R3 with the 28-70 attached, while not being a bulky backpack itself. Minor, minor con (can’t emphasize minor enough) is the megapixels. On very slight occasions I do want to crop in more and having more MP would be ideal. Although, as you said, the file size is much more appealing! Great vid again, sir! Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks for sharing your one year with the R3. You mentioned reasonable print size and wondered what you thought the size would be. R3 is one I’m looking at. Also Canon glass. Thanks!
I own an R3 and use it for sports. Yep you pretty much covered it lol. Especially the ridiculous battery charger. I wish it at least had a holder for the covers-I’d love to see a smarter design.
I was ready to buy an R3 to shoot alongside my R5 that replaced my 1DX MKII. When it was announced that it would come with a 24mp sensor, I put my money back in the bank, after shooting the R5, there's no way I could go back to a low resolution sensor camera ever again
I can appreciate your point of view. There is no doubt that if you don't need the speed and the stickiest autofocus available, the R5 is the best canon camera to go with. Those 45 megapixels are great! 💯📸
thanks brother ! love your video. I am currently a R5 and sony user and seriously thinking to upgrade R3. However, i use to find that the dynamic range of canon senor is abit behind other brand. Repeatedly, highlight area of picture i taken by R5 is over exposed and i can hardly pull it back in LR. i have switched on the D+ meterring function however the problem still mostly persist. May I know if such characteristics found in R3? thank you
Thank you for the comment my friend. I find that the dynamic range is great on these cameras. I uploaded a video giving an example of the file flexibility out of the Canon r3: ua-cam.com/video/8MMWw1VRLA4/v-deo.html
Im considering going back to my hobby which is video/photography. Currently thinking between canon R3 and Sony 7RV. Whats ur take on it ? Also for the canon thinking on take the 24-70 2.8f, to carry less lenses for video/photo shoots when i go hiking, street photography etc
Hey! I am biased to the R3! I can't speak for the 7RV but I know Sony makes very capable, top of the line camera. The R3 is a great hybrid camera, and if size isn't an issue I would go all in on the R3. The RF line is 👌
Go to Adorama used cameras sometime and count how many people are unloading their Sony A7's vs R5's and R6's. They have an essentially equal market share of cameras with interchangeable lenses, but 3 to 4 times as many A7's out there for sale. Something to think about.
Thanks for the feedback!! I've used both cameras at 4k 60fps and I'd say they are very comparable in terms of quality. This. Ideo was shot at 4k 60 on the Canon r5. I admittedly haven not utilized the 1080p on either camera as yet but it would make for a nice future comparison. Thanks!!📸💯👍
@@MilmidStudioslooks great! Maybe a video applying one of these bad boys would be great. I myself am thinking about jumping into the R3. I also owned the 1Dx mark 2 years ago. Understand the feeling of doing an unboxing
Thanks a lot!! Yes, without the vertical grip the form factor would be nice and compact but you just lose out on the redundant controls and epic battery life!
@@Lifetogo nearly. But I have exceptional eye sight and dislike the low resolution evf vs optical. R3 and r5 are okay but I really love the ovf sim on the R3. Also I'd like eye control focus. The other problem with R6 ii is the lcd screen doesn't have 'option 6' to turn it off easily, as per the r5.
Hahaha yes it's easy to spray and pray when you have the speed!! I always keep in the back of my mind that I have to go through the images afterwards, so my trigger finger tends to be a little tamed... haha 📸🤣💯
As far as having to pack a large charger goes, a serious R5 user probably carries a gang charger that charges several batteries at once. I don’t use the R3 charger, I plug it into a USB-C PD and charge the battery in camera.
Hi Milmid, hope you are doing well. I have been watching you for a while now, and I enjoy watching your content. I love so much street photography and portrait photography because I have worked for 2 summers in weddings, and I love that. I have incredible photos that I shoot with my iphone but thats not enough. Do you have any idea of how could I make my dream set up ( canon 650d and a 70-200mm f2.8 or f4), because here in Balkan where I live, making your dreams come true its a little bit of problem. Hope you and your gf are doing good, thanks in advance.
Hello my friend, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I also appreciate your support! I can only imagine the beautiful locations you are able to photograph in the Balkans! The new iphones have excellent cameras but yes, I agree, ideally you will want to get your hands on a camera body and a couple of good lenses. I can assure you that if you continue to strive towards your goals, you will achieve them. I began doing side jobs with mediocre cameras and working extra hours until I was able to upgrade. It will take time but one thing I can assure you is that hard work will pay off. Keep at it!! 👍📸💯 The journey is the reward.

I’m loving my Canon R3! Mostly for wildlife and the pixels are enough for me. It’s just a fun hobby/pastime for me.
Thanks for sharing! I have to agree with you. Also, the modest 24 megapixels is what allows us to have that ridiculous speed! 💯📸
I love my R3, I think you nailed it. I've only had mine for a little over a month but love it.
Thanks for sharing!! It's such a great system! 📸🙏🏽💯
Brilliant video 👍👍 I have the R5 and have just purchased an R3 to use on my 600mm and 300mm I use my RF 100-500 on the r5
Sounds like an amazing set up!!! Thanks for sharing 📸💯🎯
I bought the R3 just over 6 months ago, and I've loved everything about it. I don't even mind the size, yes, costly but worth it.
An absolutely wonderful camera indeed. Thanks for sharing!💯📸👍
any overheat in 6k 60p and 4k 120p?

What about the overheating issue when it comes to 6k 60p or 4k 120p ?
Loved the video!
Hey! How did you do the dual tone blue on the R3?👍🏻
Hello friend! Thanks for checking out that video🫡 I used a camera wrap from www.alphagvrd.com . The color I have is Obsidian Blue. Cheers!
I bought an R3 here in the UK from a grey import site with a 3 year warranty for £4090 fantastic bit of kit
Plz do 4K 120fbs continuous recording and let me know how many minutes it comes before heats up shutdown
R3 has a glass-break trigger compared to what I had on the 5D-MkIV. Not spongey, very fast. Great for sports. ... and you can dial it up even faster!
I love it so much that seriously considering buying a 2nd one to replace either my R6 or R5 lol. Seriously!

Would love to hear more about the video capabilities. Like even how it stacks up vs your R5. Like even the quality of 1080p…

Yes! It is a vinyl wrap from Alphagvrd.com. The color is ‘Obsidian Blue’. 👌🏽👌🏽

Good details thanks. R3 would be my perfect camera if it came without the vertical grip.
Isn't this the R6 II ?
I'd say pretty close!

I so want this…im just running from going through a tome of photos. Knowing me, when I get access to a camera with a fast FPS, I’m trigger happy lol

Bruh you can charge via usb-c too…. I have a Canon charger that came with my R5 or I just use my MacBook block with a usb-c cord.
Same here!
How is this one blue?
Hello! I used a vinyl wrap by the company alphagvrd. They have many different colors👌👍
Just saw it on one of your earlier videos but thanks for your answer. 🙂

bought the canon R3 when it first came out, sold it not too long after. A year later, biggest regret of my life.
It's no doubt a massive investment!!! You can make it right by getting the R1! 🤣👌💯

Canon R3 user here… you gonna do street photography, get yourself a fuji! 😂
Hahaha NOTED 🤣📸
nice
Hmmm where did you steal that 📸
