One horrible fact is that Tvorchi, the group competing in 2023 got news that russia bombed their hometown shortly before their performance. Wouldn't surprise me if the russians did that on purpose.
Ukraine always does better when they send female powerful divas with amazing bangers. This is one of my favorites countries in the co test alongside with Sweden and Israel.
so 2005 was about the Orange Revolution (mass protests over Ukraine's then very corrupt pro-Russian oligarch government) Verka before Eurovision was (and still is) very popular in Russia and Ukraine and is very beloved by the Eurofandom to this day. My personal winner for 2007 tbh Also some context for Ukraine's history in Eurovision - So before Russia's invasion and annexation of Crimea in 2014, they sent entries that were more on the "silly" side and from 2016 to now they've been more focused on making showcasing Ukrainian culture, especially since the war started in 2022. Their 2016 was actually partially in Crimean Tatar and about Jamala's grandma who as a child was deported from Crimea to Central Asia by the Soviet Union in 1944 and her sister (Jamala's great aunt) sadly died en route. It's not everyone's cup of tea music wise but it's a very beautiful song nonetheless.
The 2005 entry was about the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, big protest against mass coruption and influence of Russia (therefore the chains). The 2007 entry is mocking Russia, Lasha Tumbai sounds like Russia Goodbye. The comedian behind the act was banned entry into Russia.
The 2019 withdrawal was due to a controversy regarding Maruv scheduling concerts in Russia. The Ukrainian broadcaster wanted her to sign a contract which forbid her to hold concerts in Russia among other things, which she refused. When it was clear Maruv was out, the runner-up and third place-finisher in the national final also rejected the offer to represent Ukraine. In 2022 there was also a disqualification over a Russia-related controversy. Kalush Orchestra was the runner-up, but the national final winner Alina Pash was accused of entering Crimea from Russian territory which was against the rules (she later admitted to forging her travel documents).
Ukraine has a difficult democratic political process, like an every young country in political meaning. But only it's problem are the russian neighbors

Well, they really did. It's terrorussia, what else can one expect?

Thanks for sharing 👍
Banned to entry Russia? Hahaha. That’s why he performed in Sochi for Russian oligarchs in 2015?

Thanks for clarifying 👍
gotta agree outside of Scandinavia Ukraine is probably the most consistent with sending good acts
Glory to UKRAINIAN HEROES.

Тут приймаємо , там спостувуємо, а тут гідні перемоги😂
Where is Eurovosion Queen Verka Serduchka?
UA-cam blocked certain songs so I had to trim them out. Unfortunately it happens on most of these eurovision videos I react to.
Ваші, коментаріїї, в більшості, правильні)
Thanks for your review, Kev.Please make video for Italy.. This country is also a powerhouse of Eurovision alongside with Sweden and Ukraine.
I have one for Italy.. it can be found in my eurovision playlist 😀
You missed 2007 (2nd place), 2015, 2018 and 2021 (5th place). You either don't show anything at all or you show everything. Shame on you!
UA-cam blocked them.. I had to trim them out.
Glory Ukraine !!!

пропустить Сердючку и Тину Кароль... ??? нуну
❤KRYLATA
Ukraine is the only country that got their worst results when they are hosting contest. 2005(19) and 2017(24)
И что?
I like Ukraine but they’re usually having political problems. Usually not their fault but it’s pretty constant.
neighborhood with russia = political problems
Ну пишите точно, что проблемы из за России. Это страна террорист
Ukraine has a difficult democratic political process, like an every young country in political meaning. But only it's problem are the russian neighbors
Last 2 wins were sooo political both cause of russian attacks
