Ed's explained that Dusty is about how he'd spend nights after Jamal (his best friend) died crying himself to sleep, but then bright and early the next morning his 2 year old daughter would wake him up, happy as can be, and want breakfast and music with her daddy (Ed). They have a morning routine of breakfast and listening to a vinyl record together. The particular morning he's writing about was when she randomly chose a Dusty Springfield (you were right!) record - Dusty in Nashville. "Drop the needle on Dusty" literally means dropping the needle of the record player on the vinyl so it starts playing. 🙂
Subtract really give me some plus vibes, both are my favorite albuns now, they are so similar, the image, with ed's face centralized and the math symbol on the lower right, the metaphors on the songs, the deep meaning of the words, the uniform theme of the album and the relatable ability of feel, the acoustic instrumentals, the sincerity, everything reminds me of plus
Loooooved your reaction video. I felt the same about all the songs as you. They have all made me cry. This is a masterpiece of an album. My favorite of his ever. Thanks for the Ed love.
Great reaction. Ed did videos for each song , I think you’d like it. Also Vega is the brightest start in the Lyra constellation. Lyra is the name of his first daughter
Can I just say - you are such a lovely, funny, sweet and thoughtful guy. This is the first time I’ve seen any of your videos but I immediately subscribed! I listened to Subtract for the first time when it was released 2 days ago and I fell in love. Such a masterpiece.
@teddyistheonlyone : I am listening to Dancashio and his reactions about Ed's new Album Subtract . He said that he could listen to the new Album with out crying well Dancashio lost that bit . And he loves ❤️ the songs 🎵 on this Album . Subtract is a very emotional Album and fantastic .Great Job Ed God Bless You Always Yours Laura @ All the songs on this Album is beautiful and ed put his heart and soul into writing these songs 🎵 ❤️ And the music was a blessing to my ears 👂..Dancashio loves Ed's voice and so do I 💋 💋 😘 Congrats on all your hard work with the Subtract Album .
If you watch the video for "Curtains", you will understand it differently. I mean, when i saw it i realised that is is about drugs stuff like an escape from reality. The whole video is like a trip from drugs so this "optimism" isnt real. What do u guys think about this exact song and its video?
I didn’t see it that way. It felt like exactly what he’s said, but the ups and downs of dealing with paranoia, depression, anxiety, etc. The blue during the verses feels like when you’re in the low, the people pulling and chasing after him feels like the paranoia. The orange/yellow during the chorus feels like when you’re in the absolute highs of the cycle, where you think “life is so fucking great hell yeah.” And you cycle through the low lows and the high highs trying to find that *normal* that everyone else seems to have, which you see in the end with the normal color without saturation. Watching that video and listening to borderline and curtains really just put into words and showed a real metaphors for what it feels like to struggle with this very specific mental health disorder. I can’t listen to either without balling my eyes out because I can finally explain it. I don’t think it’s about drugs at all.
"Multiply" will make YOU eat your words. Still, no offense, though. I'm not a fan of "Divide" and "Equals". Maybe the songs you don't like are from these two albums. "Multiply" is fire.

Salt Water is a masterpiece and my favourite on the album, it's just so bare and honest and emotional.
This album is the most Ed Sheeran album ever the most real album i heard in a long time. It's just amazing.

Finally! Someone who loves this album as much as I do💛
Also love how he made this a completely visual album. So every song has a corresponding music video
I love he’s back with a true singer/songwriter album!! ❤
in love with it

Salt Water might be his best song. This album is definitely his best album. So raw and true.
Great reaction. Ed did videos for each song , I think you’d like it. Also Vega is the brightest start in the Lyra constellation. Lyra is the name of his first daughter
By the way, he married a

oceans and we're obsessed WITH
their LOVE SONGS. 😭♥️
This is such a powerful and emotional album; imo, it is Ed's magnum opus, and one of the best albums I have heard in a very long time.
