- He's a multi-platinum selling singer songwriter, funny Scotsman, and just all round nice guy. But away from the stage, Lewis Capaldi has faced personal struggles. In a new tell-all Netflix documentary, the hitmaker is exploring his struggles with anxiety, and his recent tourettes diagnosis. He joins us in the studio today to tell us how he’s battled against his mental health struggles, to bring together his hotly anticipated new album.

We watched this with our son, and it was great being able to explain that having a disability or metal illness shouldn't hold you back. Lewis is an inspiration, talented, funny and a genuinely nice guy.

After watching the documentary on Lewis and his illness. I freaking love this down to earth human being. He is such an inspiration to all plus he is just a great guy. Quit stressing in creating number one hits, your voice touches souls and changes lives. As we all get older, we come to an understanding that all that really matters in life are people and relationships. Lewis, your life is a Grammy in my eyes. Well done Lewis Capaldi.

Have to say I like Lewis in interviews but I seen him live in Arizona and wasn’t impressed- didn’t even give us “one more tune “ at the end
I'm not a fan of his music because I don't keep up with what the popular music is nowadays, I haven't for years. He seems like a cool young guy though. I'll probably watch his documentary. And I highly recommend the Lewis Capaldi branded pizzas from Lidl!
I just watch his docu in netflix and i like him..the funniest and realist artist as he speaks his mind in a funny way..i have been listening to his song..i hope he gets well..
I love Lewis, he is absolutely hilarious. He has health anxiety, I have it too. Its very scary and you truly believe when your sick that you will die.

I have vertigo everyday and it sucks. It’s called FND due to anxiety and stress. Much Love Lewis x It’s SO Hard to battle with yourself, no one will ever understand unless they’ve been through it. xx

@@paulgal i’ve had it for the last 10 years, they’ve tried almost everything, but I’ve now been put on a trial for EMDR. I don’t get the normal type of vertigo with spinning dizzy, I did at the beginning but it quickly turned into a feeling of imbalance the floor moving up and down, feeling like I’m being pushed from side to side. It’s really scary, especially when accompanied with feeling of weakness down one side etc. Unfortunately physio didnt’ help me, so I am really hoping this does. Thanks so much for responding.

@@emmahammond4338 Did they test your inner ear for anything? Inner ear can cause vertigo. Also, if the spinal problems, and (as is the case with many) life in general; I get PTSD panic attacks sometimes, and when I feel it starting I take one 0.5 mg of Ativan. That helps immensely. I'm in the U.S. (God help me) and if that isn't stress enough. . . anyway, as a nurse here those are 3 things to consider off the top of my head. I hope you find relief soon Emma. Not fun to live with, I know..
@@dlkirkwood1446 oh yes had all those tests, I even had to sit in a capsule and be spun In a chair whilst the ENT specialist asked me questions 😂 then follow the red dot, green dog etc. I take Sertraline max dose 200mg, I take quetiapine which are supposed to boost the SSRI and I take Diazepam 5mg during the day and 10 mg at night.
I wish I’d was my ears, regrettably early life trauma, a poorly nan & grandad a life time of abuse as a child and adult and my brain just had enough so if started of new physical physical symptoms when I was under a lot of strain. I had a good 17yrs on a SSRI called peroxatine/Paxil but unfortunately they stopped being so effective hence the vertigo and grinding of my teeth, that I just couldn’t sleep. I’ve got to eventually come off all this medication but I also fear the discontinuation crap you have to endure.
Anyway enough of my ickness’
I think panic attacks are cruel (it all is) whether it’s from time to time, or your first, tenth or millionth, you never get used to them and each one is as scary as the one before.
If you are interested in finding out why traumatic events can lead to this type of thing, I would highly recommend a book called ‘The Body Keeps The Score’ by Prof Bessel van Der Kolk’ it’s seriously insightful.
II’ve done NLP, CBT, DIT, regular talking therapy and now I’m under a neuro-Psychiatrist I’m hoping EMDR treatment works 🫶

@@emmahammond4338 Ahhh, okay. Alright then what you need to do next. Talk to your pharmacist, one that is very very smart and keeps up-to-date on all drugs, and ask him or her if the medications that you're taking together maybe interacting with each other.... Or if any of these medications and which ones could potentially be causing it.
You have no idea how many medications even over-the-counter medications can cause what is also misinterpreted as a symptom.
For example that little blue pill that men take maybe helping with their problem of getting it up however if they're taking blood pressure medication that is what causes much of the erectile dysfunction and all they would have to do is prescribed a different blood pressure medicine .... But in America they love to give drugs. Because one may just create a situation where they could order you another one and then add there IRAs.
So talk to a trusted, educated pharmacist...
He is so funny, even though I know he is going through his own mental health stuff. I have severe anxiety to the point that I feel like I'm having a damn heart attack sometimes. I watched a psychology video that talked about how insulting ourselves as a form of comedy, is kind of a therapeutic thing. I do it all the time because I have so many insecurities but I LOVE making people laugh. Even at my own expense. He's such a great guy and I love that he is so open.

Vertigo has nothing to do with heights and is so underrated as as debilitating problem, been suffering for about 12 years now on and off just have to keep going.
