I told a guy that works at homeland security the problem. He said he will meantion it in his meetings. Yes we need strict laws passed!! ID photo must be scanned to pick up food and rideshare. Some sorta scan card.
This is insane. He obviously could not get on the platform of his own accord. I bet his record is a mile long. The company, the driver that shot the dog and the woman who sold or rented her account all need to go to jail. And the man who shot her dog is also guilty of animal cruelty. I very much enjoyed Angie Harmon's acting. She's obviously a sweet woman who raised a sweet dog. Rest in peace Oliver.
If you cant pass a American background check you shouldn't be on any GIG platform especial if your an illegal immigrant or not the account holder
Yep, the states should pass laws in which drivers MUST get a GIG LICENSE in order to operate. That way only people that had a background check can operate. Here's a list that I think should be done.
A) fingerprint FBI background check, only Government entities can do this
B) Warrant check
C) 5 Panel Drug test
D) Prove citizenship or Immigration Papers
E) Obtain General Business Insurance ( since these people claim to be Independent Contractors )
Now will this prevent incidents from happening? NO!!!
But at least it will minimize these types of incidents and MAXIMIZE protections for the public, the drivers, as well as the Companies.

Why does Instacart allow driver's to hire other drivers under their account? If they still have to go through the same process, why not work for themselves? I dont get that.

I wonder how many other deliveries "Merle" made prior to this one. What if Merle was carjacked or met some other untimely demise and now you have a predator looking for opportunity to get into a gated community, locked apartment building or your home? If your delivery/rideshare driver doesn't match the profile provided by the platform it is imperative that it be reported and NEVER get in a vehicle without confirming your driver. I tell my passengers, when it comes up in conversation about safety, you may not have been what the predator was looking for, but the next rider may never be seen again.
I ordered some food from door dash the other day. Anna was supposed to be delivering it. Well yes a guy stepped up and delivered my pizzas….
Same thing happened to me, was supposed to be a lady and a dude... that couldn't speak ANY English showed up
People keep talking about "renting/sharing" accounts, but think about it...
As 1099 employees, we have to pay back the IRS 30-40% of our income at the end of the year.
If I had an account that I was renting to some random person, I'd have to be charging them 40% of their income to cover taxes, BEFORE profit...
My question IS and has ALWAYS been: who the heck are all these tens of thousands of people who are risking tax fraud, JUST to maybe make an extra hundred or two per month renting out a food delivery account to a stranger? Doesn't make any sense at all.
Same time, there are news reports of people getting hit with the IRS telling them they owe sometimes tens of thousands on delivery accounts they never made and didn't know about.
It's KNOWN that a lot of these accounts are using stolen identities, not rented ones, but the government (namely, Democrats) don't want to admit that their precious "asylum seekers" are working with cartels to screw over their own citizens.
For what?? Who's really profiting off of this nonsense?
Exactly these gig companies have a lot of new employees to work at the slave labor rate. They just crossed over the border and took everyone else’s jobs.

Dogs who bite have a past history of this type of behavior, and it clearly looks like Oliver did not. If this story doesn't break the whole illegal "renting account" thing going on, then nothing will.
I'm somewhat surprised that there are no cameras at her place. But with that said I don't think trespassing will fly even though it was not the right person. She was having an Instacart shopper coming over to drop off groceries. She is responsible with keeping all animals lock up or not able to go and play or attack workers. The Instacart could get a lawyer for her actings for not securing the animal.

just telling you the facts of the matter. Doesn't matter if it was the wrong to use Instacart as not being the correct Shopper. They actresses knew a Shopper was coming over and they did not keep the dog secured at the time of the delivery. If the person felt scared of their life of the animal then they could use deadly force on them. There are other matters that the person can get in legal trouble as in not having a licensing firearm or legal stats. But thinking this actress doesn't have any blame for not s
secure their animal. I will see Instacart paying her for what happens to keep them away but that's perfectly much it. But she will get a lawsuit against her for this too.
