Putting a Wood Cook Stove together | Restoration Pt2

Hey guys!
In this episode I get back the broken pieces of cast iron from the welder. I lay out all the 40 or so parts and start to cement the stove back together.
It's a confusing and tense process.
I encounter another problem later on but luckily get quick help.

Did you use the furnace cement because you didn’t have a gasket between metal surfaces?

@miamigogreg The cement is used for an air tight seal so the smoke doesn't leak into the house.

I understand. Did your stove have a place for a gasket where parts meet, or was it metal against metal with no gasket?

@miamigogreg these antique stoves never came with a gasket. It's metal on metal.
