- Could Godzilla Beat Mechagodzilla?! Earlier this year, Legendary Pictures unveiled the long-awaited Godzilla VS Kong blockbuster, which had the atomic lizard face off against the cunning Gorilla, Kong. However, after the half-day-long iconic battle was over, a tired Godzilla had to face off against a new enemy, one that was mechanical and hell-bent on destroying everything around it, Mechagodzilla. Combined with the flexibility of his ape nemesis, his own iconic energy blast, and the malicious nature of King Ghidorah, Godzilla had to face a very strong enemy, unlike anything he had ever seen before.
Suffice to say, the robot clone of Godzilla managed to stomp out the real Godzilla and would have likely finished what Kong couldn't do. But how would the battle have gone if Godzilla hadn't fought Kong and hadn't spent a large portion of his energy in blasting a hole through the Hollow Earth? Would Godzilla still find himself outmatched, or would he be able to hold his own much better and possibly win in a few scenarios?
I analyze a ton of Monsterverse material to uncover the truth behind the important question; Could Godzilla Beat Mechagodzilla?!

Thanks for watching fellas! For the people saying that "the director said he would win/ would win easily". That was NEVER said. All Adam Wingard said was that he believed Godzilla was weakened and that the battle might have gone differently/ he might have won. There's a HUGE difference between saying "he might win/the battle would have gone differently" and "he would have won." All he said was that the battle was more up in the air. He never definitively said Godzilla would win. Please don't twist people's words to make an argument, lol.
Yes please 👌🏻
Sounds interesting

It’s been pretty much confirmed at this point to be a 50/50, Wingard literally says he has no idea who’d win and originally had tired Godzilla in GvK having a back and forth battle with mg.
wow I wasn't expecting you to be here lol
yep
No lmao. It's a massacre in favor of Mecha. You can't just create a Robotic Kaiju that's literally a counter to Godzilla in every single way, and then call it a 50-50.
@@prehistoriccreature1800 tell that to Mr. Wingard, staff the worked on GvK, and some lore. More actually points to Godzilla winning in most battles than MG.
@@HighFlyersTagTeam
I don't care what they say. If that's what they're implying, then they destroyed their own points while making the movie itself LMAO.
If we’re going by narrative, then Mechagodzilla would be squarely in the antagonist role given how (if I remember the movie correctly) it’s creation was what made Godzilla behave more violently, and was at least part of the reason they brought Kong along with them
Yeah ur right
Your completely right, sure it doesn’t sound the best to some people but to me it completely sets up why Godzilla and Kong had conflict with each other in the movie,
Precisely because he sensed Ghidorah's presence and came to finish the job and ended up finding Ghidorah in a mechanized godzilla suit
The brought kong to get them to the hollow earth, everything after that was godzilla challenging kong that why he blasted the a hole down to the hollow earth that's when kong jumped down.
Base Godzilla: Could go either way
Burning/Thermo Nuclear Godzilla: Hahahahahahaha Mecha Goes Boom
Thermo: *ALLAHU AKBAR*
@A u s t i n fair, legendary can only go thermo if he takes in more nuclear radiation then his body can take.
Yeah no, burning Godzilla isn't something Goji can just turn on and off, it's not super saiyan, he needs mothra's energy to trigger it, as we saw in King of the monsters
@@kingkurok3149 He dosent need mothra energy you clearly don’t understand how Godzilla went thermonuclear. Godzilla upon getting nuked was buffed and was reaching critical levels of radiation mothra dying gave him her radiation as well speeding up the burning process. All Godzilla has to do to go burning is absorb large amounts of radiation for example like from the hollow earth lair he has.
@@Aacezay and if the writers want him to, which is 50/50
How Godzilla behaved differently around Kong and MechaGodzilla was quite revealing. With Kong, Godzilla paced himself like a seasoned vet and seemed to be daydreaming about future fights with more experienced fighters. But when MechaGodzilla showed up? Godzilla went into a full rage-sprint! As for whether or not Godzilla could beat MechaGodzilla at full strength? That's difficult to say. MechaGodzilla shares Godzilla's power source, meaning MG's energy is equivalent to Big G. As Chuck noted in his ALPHA analysis, the novel states MG is faster and stronger than Godzilla (which made the situation direr because Godzilla was severely worn out), but that doesn't mean we'd declare MG victorious by default. Could MG withstand Godzilla's Super Atomic Breath? Probably not. So the question is can Godzilla buy enough time to power up and unleash atomic oblivion? That's what this comes down to. MG has the strength, speed, and weapons to bludgeon Godzilla into submission. It looks like it could go either way. Basically, whosoever screws up first shall possess the shame of defeat.
Honestly, I can't help but speculate that the ambiguity on who'd really win was intentional. Like, sequel hook-intentional if you know what I mean. Great video, Chuck!
Thank you very much!
@@Chuck Anytime, my man! Your content is great. Keep up the solid work!
That’s a good catch. Godzilla probably lowered his BIQ by getting too emotional eventually being forced into a supporting role for Kong rather than Kong supporting him. Either way, if Godzilla could land a clean hit with max power atomic breathe then he’ll win
There is the rumor of how mechagodzilla was based on 2014 godzillas strenght and weaknesses therefore not counting on the upgrade he got in king of the monsters or his further power development in gvsk

I believe that a fresh base Godzilla would probably be able to beat Mecha Godzilla with a high amount of difficulty and it would by no means be an easy battle. Thermonuclear Godzilla would likely just melt Mecha Godzilla at the temperatures he would be putting out. The pulse he shoots out in that form could also likely act as a sort of EMP and either fully shut down Mecha G, or severely mess with its abilities in a simmilar fashion as to what happened in the movie with the human's help.
true someone with a good argument. it would be extremely hard for Godzilla to win, but will just barely win against mecha
Not even in dreams cry 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thermo nuclear Godzilla is basically a nuke. So he would create an EMP but it wouldn’t be as affective as an actual nuke. But it wouldn’t matter the temperatures would be so extreme it would melt mechs in one or 2 shots

I fell like Mechagodzilla's speed and agility would still push Godzilla to his limit even at full power. Don't see how Godzilla would be able to keep up with his speed and his beam can also damage Godzilla. The battle would be longer but Godzilla would have to strategized a new way to beat him and if he chooses to stick to close combat he'll lose.

@@wasafella4260 yeah that’d be a interesting turn. Considering we’ve followed their journey from king of the monsters to GVK.
The answer: absolutely. Kong’s interference is the only reason Big G man didn’t wipe the floor with MechaG
True cause godzilla could just go beast mode like what he did with kong and I reckon a 120,000 tonn titan going really fast and hard on mg21 he would stand a chance
Personally, I believe Godzilla would have won the battle given both the King and the Mech were in their top conditions.
Firstly, Godzilla is way more resistant than Mech. We could assume this basing on the fact, that Mech was heavily damaged by the Kongs axe even though Godzillas atomic breath was very weak at the end of the battle. Meanwhile, a fully charged axe, powered by both Hollow earth energy and Godzillas full power atomic breath, still could not penetrate big G's armour plates.
Consequently, Godzilla's full power atomic blast would have sliced Mech's armour easily, whereas Mechs lazer beam could not cut through G's scales.
Secondly, a full powered Godzilla would not concede in speed and agility, as he was able to easily chase and catch Kong during the battle being already exhausted.
Obviously, given Gojira is as agile as Mech, more resistant than Mech and has more powerful energy beam, he would have overpowered him in a close combat
Godzilla was never close to matching Kong or Mecha's speed I do not know where you are pulling that Godzilla becomes the flash at 100% but its wrong. Mecha was faster and more agile, not to mention able to move his limbs in ways Godzilla cannot. Mecha can't cut through Godzilla's hide well I agree. But He didn't really need too given how he was clearly going to kill Godzilla with a beam through the mouth.
Godzilla tossed around the Mutos which weighed about 60,000 tons when he weighed around 90K tons. In GvK he weighed closer to 100K and we know he didn't toss around Ghidorah he blew him over with his pulse attack and then stepped on him. Mecha was dragging Godzilla around like he was a doll at one point it looked like Godzilla was off the ground as he was swung around through buildings. Mecha has the edge in terms of Strength as we have never seen Godzilla use his strength like that on comparable weight.
Mecha also has edge in speed as well as we see him moving around far more agile than Godzilla. To be fair Godzilla is not very fast normally.
Godzilla has the edge in durability for sure, 100% but being a tank is not that great when the other guy can toss you around and you can't defend yourself.
Godzilla at full power's beam would be stronger this is true, but if Mecha can avoid it he can definitely make Godzilla's day a rough one. Mecha can't withstand a persistent beam from Godzilla this is true but even Kong survived a glancing blow with no lasting damage. I do believe Mecha's beam could hurt Godzilla is fired down through the mouth, at tissue that is not armored. So its a close fight but I think Mecha still wins because he could basically just wrestle Godzilla to the ground and wait for him to stop beaming before firing one down his gullet for the win.
Kong was the deciding factor in that fight because his weapon and agility were not taken into account in the design. He was hooking spots and slicing tubes and wires easily and he was able to wrench Mecha in ways Godzilla physically cannot do. Mecha was designed to fight Godzilla so was not designed to handle "What if a giant ape wrenched its head back in this way"
TheLastSane1 here said tons of facts, but let me correct you on a couple of things:
1st- Yes, Godzilla's throat isn't armored, but it is used to let nukes' radiation pass through without internal bleeding or overheating or cooked flesh, so i'm with you on the fact that Mechagodzilla's kiss of death would've killed Godzilla but just keep in mind that Godzilla's throat still has some insane durability and regeneration.
2nd- Godzilla has stronger legs than MechaG but weaker arms, yes, but remember that Goji carried Muto Prime and tossed Ghidorah as one of his first moves in the Boston battle, a titan that weighs 141'000 tons tossed (also using body momentum but still impressive) like nothing, so once again i agree with you but remember that Godzilla's arms are really strong.
3rd- Overall i agree on most of the things that you said and i also think that Mechagodzilla would've won 1v1 even if Godzilla was in top shape, you're really good at speaking Kaiju facts and being careful at the details of fights that might avoid a misconception or a misunderstanding, let me know what you think
He didn't even use his tail which could be one of the most dangerous weapons which wasn't mentioned. The legs would not be able to be used in battle as for hitting unless mecha was on the ground flat, although mostly likely still stronger. You guys are better than me at this stuff, you're like experts in my pov.@@MonsterVerse_scientist-CnlDscr
CYBERNETIC ROBOT WILL WIN.. METAL TRUMPS FLESH
@@MonsterVerse_scientist-CnlDscr Godzilla fullcharge would melt MechaG, Godzilla is pretty much nerfed on GvK to level it down with kong, He still has thermonuclear mode but probably less powerful than KOTM, but i still think with 100% of his energy he should be able to spam less powerful thermonuclear pulse but would be enough to melt sa metals in MG, he did spam thermonuclear pulse while fighting Muto Prime, so that shouldn't be discounted
I personally don't agree because of a few reasons that I can think of but the fact that you're so chill and not toxic whenever explaining why you think Mecha Godzilla would win still is enough to make me actually feel like hearing this out.
Like I'm glad I'm able to find someone that I can disagree with that isn't being super duper toxic and just overhyping the kind you that they are talking about.
Not for my reasons why I think Godzilla would still win.
Keep in mind I am taking from all monsterverse Godzilla media at least a little bit because even though there are parts that are largely not canon certain things like kaijudu durability or feats are still Canon at least until they go back and rewrite certain things after all even the film seem to slightly alter the continuity each time a new one releases.
Terms of raw physical strength it is confirmed that Mechagodzilla isn't actually stronger than Godzilla he's only really faster and is able to stay a step ahead in terms of combat so long as it's something that Godzilla has done before if anything they even slightly hint to the fact that Godzilla might be physically stronger both before and after this film though it's not by a whole whole lot (like that time that Godzilla lifted 130,000 tons with his energy draining out and his spine partially damaged which is already really close to the amount of weight that Mecca Godzilla was throwing around which is about 90,000 tuns)
In terms of durability Godzilla also takes this again Michael Godzilla is still able to utilize his battle intelligence but he's only made of titanium with some sort of tungsten alloyed over the surface of his body that means anything that titanium can be destroyed by if you can get through mechagodzillas thin shield coatings will also easily destroy Mechagodzilla. This means for instance if Godzilla were to stomp on Mecca Godzilla's tale somehow this would break it right off the 90,000 ton weight combined with Godzilla's great strength would be enough to easily crush titanium in spite of having a very high durability because like I've just mentioned it's possible that Godzilla is physically stronger than Mecha Godzilla even if it's just by a little.
There's also the fact that it's confirmed Mecha Godzilla can only survive short-term blasts of Godzilla's regular atomic breath before his outer coating gets destroyed. And titanium itself melts at only slightly over 1,000 degrees Celsius.
This means that if Godzilla decide to use the hollow Earth breath on Mechagodzilla not only would he win the beam battle but if you actually do the calculations the hollow Earth breath would have to be as hot or at the very least comparable to the heat of the sun to be able to incinerate all the materials that could be found underground in China without there being so much lava and flags at on both sides of the Hollow Earth tunnel he created.
So of course I'm pretty sure that with the hollow Earth breath he could just shoot off and make a Godzilla's head and call it a day.
This doesn't mean that Mecca Godzilla doesn't stain the chance due to being a comparable strength that Godzilla as well as being faster and having a proton screen that's similar in power to Godzilla's regular atomic breath he stands a pretty good chance after all instead of being super powerful guys every single one of Godzilla's kryptonites in mind but this doesn't mean that there's no chance for Godzilla to win.
Basically put Godzilla's first time fighting Mecha Godzilla make a Godzilla has a big enough advantage that he could win but if Godzilla survives the encounter and learns that he needs to use the hollow Earth breath and full power then Godzilla would win.
@@memyselfandijo2526 pretty much sums up how I think full power Legendary godzilla would fare against Mecha G.
This movies Mecha quickly became one of my favorite iterations. He just came in and stole the show as soon as he was introduced. I also liked Kong in this movie, poor man just wanted to be left alone.
Narratively speaking, this Mechagodzilla seems like he was designed to win in a Solo fight. The concept seemingly from the beginning was King Kong and Godzilla versus Mechagodzilla. It would take both to win. Again, just based on what the movie seems to depict in the story.
that’s what i thought too. imo mechagodzilla would’ve beaten both weakened kong and godzilla (without humans saving them) with ease but if he faced both of them at 100% power he’d be overwhelmed
also forgot to add i think he’d beat either of them at full power if it was a 1v1
@@TwocanToucan I would point out that Mecha was not said to be 100% complete he was still in testing phase right? It was not the plan for him to fight Godzilla just yet but they where going to try. So what would a completed Mecha look like? Could it take on both?
TheLastSane1 with how badly godzilla got beaten by an uncomplete mechagodzilla, i think so
@@TwocanToucan godzilla was technically really tired of consecutive fights and travelling all over the world, aswell being hunted all throughout the movie without rest aswell as wasting soo much energy blasting a hole through the center of the earth, and spamming breaths, easy to say he was far from his best state, and yet he tanked much more hits, Godzilla would outlast Mecha in a fight, not considering the fact that mecha seems more fragile which is why he was given speed.
Lore wise.
Godzilla resembles Gia better. ( The living consciousness of the world)
Mothra is more of a Alaya ( Protector of the human race)
Mecha was designed to specifically target godzilla and had everything to counter the beast even at it’s full powered state… but Godzilla has insane durability and tenacity… he has been here for millions of years, nature already created a perfect counter to Godzilla MUTO & MUTO prime, they gave him a tough time but this Godzilla came out on top by sheer tenacity .. Mecha would’ve run out of energy and his body would eventually give up… I doubt that his energy beam would just vaporise Godzilla, if that were the case, humans would just create a big ass canon with that energy beam, instead of designing this massive complicated machine… it’s not like Godzilla is hard to be shot at
The burning form Godzilla showed in the king of monsters was actually a last line of defense for his species. It called radioactive pulse which uses his atomic breath to generate extreme heat across his skin and dorsal fin.
I do think that if Godzilla was at full power, he would have defeated mechagodzilla, albeit with much difficulty. Godzilla is a representation of nature while mechagodzilla is a representation of technology. No matter what advances in technology humanity achieves, humanity can't control or surpass forces of nature. Plus Godzilla's atomic breath which reached the hollow earth surpassed mechagodzilla's beam by far.
Godzilla's breath was inconsistent in GvK.
@@frivolousarguments8578 I respectfully disagree. Godzilla's atomic breath towards the hollow earth was most likely at maximum power, and it was confirmed that Godzilla lost some power after that. Adam Wingard also confirmed that Godzilla was not taking Kong seriously until after Kong used the axe to slam Godzilla with his own energy from his atomic breath.
Although, mecha g didn't use his tail which could be way more lethal than the other weapons, also being if they did beam clash, mecha Godzilla can disorient with missiles. **Most likely**@@StareachValcin

The Designer stated Godzilla at full power would beat MechaGodzilla, and plus His punches weren’t doing any damages at all to a weaken Godzilla, the only thing that was able to do some sort of Damage to Godzilla was his Proton scream. Adam also said it would be a back and forth except the Beam Clash
yeah “some sort of damage” sent him flying and left him with a giant scorch mark, and with only 3 seconds of contact. Mg21 is built to defeat him and has him beat in many categories, Godzilla at full power wouldn’t defeat him
@@user-mc3if9xs7w bruh, his punches weren’t doing jack shit to Godzilla, He’s fighting an exhausted Godzilla, and yet he wasn’t able to make him bleed, the only thing that Damaged him was His Proton Scream. He needed to use more power to over power a 50% Godzilla in a beam clash. At full Power MechaGodzilla would only last 3.1 seconds against Godzilla’s Atomic Breath. He may have gotten thrash around building’s anf dragged to the floor, still no blood, scratches. bruises nothing.
@ because his punches aren’t meant to damage him on the outside, they’re meant to internally damage him and wear him down. MG21 has endless energy as stated in the novel so Godzilla hasn’t a hope in the world of defeating him even in the beam clash let alone a melee battle. Endless energy, he can literally fight forever while Godzilla can only fight for a limited time, and since he’s a mechanical entity he doesn’t have the flaws of an actual titan. not to mention the missiles also easily stun him as shown so say he’s charging up his atomic breath, missiles will stun him out of it. Mg21 literally blitzed him and got behind him before Godzilla even realized so. He’s got the speed, strength, and quite frankly the durability to take him on. Since he easily shrugged off Godzilla throwing his entire body at him, and getting slammed through a building by both kong and Godzilla without a scratch on him. He counters him in every way.
and the designer also said mg21 weighs 1 trillion tons. Do you also take that as canon? The movie outright states him to be his superior and it’s very evident.
@@user-mc3if9xs7w bruh, I’ve seen the calcs and feats, statements, Godzilla would win against MechaGodzilla, he got pushed back by Godzilla when they tackled each other, and needed weapons to get a weakened Kong & Godzilla off of him, a weaken Godzilla was over powering him, and the director stated he visualize a 50% Godzilla going back and forth with MechaGodzilla, and even said a beaten down Godzilla could still come back. Godzilla is physically stronger & more durable than MechaGodzilla. There’s even statements from a Japanese Guide book stating GvK Godzilla is weaker than the 2014 Godzilla, and the novel starte Godzilla has not gotten any rest because he kept sensing Ghidorah. The director even stated a full power Godzilla would win in a beam clash. His plasma punches weren’t able to make him gag out blood, or spit out blood. So no MechaGodzilla would not beat a full Power MechaGodzilla.
@ gvk Godzilla is not weaker than 2014. Not sure where you got that from. Godzilla patrolled for 2 years, and slept for 3 years feeding on radiation. He is nowhere near as slow or as weak as g14. For the last time, mechagodzillas punches are made to wear him out, damage him internally, and stun him.
also, what is your point of “he needed weapons to get kong and Godzilla off of him”? He just played it smart, stunned Godzilla for a moment, threw kong, bashed Godzilla. Mechagodzilla threw kong with little to no effort, and dragged Godzilla along with throwing him through an entire building. all of my points are in the other one above, I’m not repeating myself.
Adam wingard is a Godzilla fanboy, what do you expect from him? And that’s retconned because as I stated before, endless energy. Godzilla has limited energy. Connect the dots m8.
The director said Godzilla would have won only the beam battle if at %100 so when Godzilla would he would blast mecha down and then Godzilla would have time to go and attack him and possibly end him so I’d say it’s 50/50

But in the end though, with the help of the human assistance (from Madison and Jia), it was Godzilla + Kong teaming up and using their great intelligence (instead of their brute strength) to overpower the robotic Titan that saved the day.🦖🦍👍😉🎄🌌
Adam Wingard the director himself said that the battle would have been very different had Godzilla been at full power
when?
Dude the mech wasn’t at full power it broke 😂
Idk if I completely agree, for starters at full power, godzilla could blast through the crust and mantle of the earth with one breath, if that blast hit mechagodzilla, I do believe the mecha would die. There is also the point that I don't believe godzilla has reached his full power yet as we have yet to witness his red spiral breath.
Your forgetting that how Godzilla can use the atomic pulse while normal, also the pulse never came from mothra! He had always had it. Proved in Godzilla comic thing!
Thr directors also confirmed that Godzilla spent 50% of his full power with him drilling to Holloe Earth
If he had lots of plot armor, then yeah
lmao
It would have been a tough and hard fight for Godzilla, just like all the apparently superior kaijus he had faced before (Muto Prime exists to kill Godzilla). Mechagodzilla did not get a single hit from the Atomic breath, convenient for plot purposes. But in all honesty, it is pretty clear that all of Mechagodzilla's strenght at the end is given by the booster, yes, but mostly because it is basically Ghidorah in disguise, not just a halo. Without that particular, the machine would have been still super powerful and tough to fight against, but guided by Ren Serizawa. At the end of the day, it was still amazing, and the whole purpose of it was to simply let Kong get his own victorious moment despite losing against Godzilla and having them team up. Great video! I think the only way Godzilla could have defeated Apex's MechaGodzilla is if he was fresh and fully powered with energy. Plus if Godzilla was able to use that enormous nuclear energy blast that he used to Kill King Ghidorah at the King Of The Monsters film from 2019, he would be able to Kill MechaGodzilla.
Yo chuck, just a video suggestion maybe you could do a hypothetical mechagodzilla battle royal? This would include mechagodzillas with actual feats like kiryu, monster verse, heisei and showa (godzilla earth doesn't count for being just a nano city). Really like your videos and would love to see this, keep up the great work!
I believe that one of the filmmakers said in an interview that Godzilla might have beaten mechagodzilla if he was at full strength but I can’t remember where it was said or where I saw it. All I remember is that it was said, somewhere. Now, who do you think would win between mechagodzilla and ghidorah?
MechaGodzilla would win 6/10 against Chidorah, i mean Godzilla at full power had a fair chance against Ghidorah in the movie and held itself decently before it got hit by Oxygen Destroyer even tho Ghidorah was more powerful Godzilla at that said moment had the advantage in the water, MechaGodzilla is not only stronger than Godzilla at full power but its faster, adapts very quickly and has infinte stamina basically its Godzilla 2.0 not to mention that it can fight equally as good in the water just as on land. So without any human interuption and in a fair 1v1 fight MechaG takes this.
@@ILrukiamaxim55 Yeah, you could also make the argument that ghidorah could just fly and fire it’s gravity beams at a safe distance, destroying any incoming missiles and avoiding mechaG’s beams. It would still probably end in mechaG winning due to stamina but I could see and argument for ghidorah if it plays it safe
@@-Hikaru._.Tykon- True but i dont think Ghidorahs pride would allow this tactic since Ghidorah thinks that it is the strongest there is, so that kinda would be out of character for Ghidorah.
The main question is how Ghidorah's gravity beams would effect him, if the beams could mess with his systems he could really struggle
@@ILrukiamaxim55 Wait... stronger than Godzilla at Full Power ? Boi could defeat Muto Prime who alone would pretty much almost defeat Mecha
Lot of people are getting Wingard’s and Krichevsky’s words mixed up. Wingard said that at full power Godzilla would have won the beam battle and the overall fight may have played out differently. Krichevsky said that at full power Godzilla could beat Mechagodzilla but just barely. Neither one of them said Godzilla is guaranteed to win.
Exactly
I don't think that statement really says goji could won the beam as he said ' at one shot where Godzilla and Mechagodzilla fire thier beams at each other and Mechagodzilla actually overpowers Godzilla and i don't think that would be the same case if Godzilla was comming in fresh I think he was weakened a bit ' this could be mean he is talking about the overall fight would be played differently not the beam fight and even if you say that beam fight will play differently it doesn't mean Atomic Breath will win against Proton Scream as it doesn't mention goji will win it just say that wouldn't be same case so it can be a draw or the other beam wins against another

Really good video once again !
Glad you think so!
If he wasn't exhausted from his battle with Kong, maybe.
He would win ig he hadnt waste all of his energy against kong
Normal me: Oooooh…… I’m dead
Thermonuclear:……….😈 your dead…..
Mecha Gojira:😢
I love how this mecha Godzilla combines all my favorite elements into one, its built around the consciousness of a powerful titan like Kiyru but its the mind of a villain like the original mecha g was.
My opinion is that even if Godzilla was full strength he would have lost. For one, we've never really seen Godzilla be fatigued, in any of his movies, and just because the director says he was exhausted, it doesn't carry much weight for me, or the source material, not to mention Godzilla's cells constantly regenerate so who's to say he wasn't already full power at least physically, perhaps not radioactively.
Also, narratively speaking it wouldn't make sense if he was weaker than a full powered Godzilla because they probably would have mentioned it at some point, if that was his handicap or reason for losing. Plus, the director didn't say he would have won if he was full powered anyhow.
Let's not forget too, that historically Mechagodzilla has been stronger than Godzilla (or non amped). They have had 5 encounters prior to this one, and Godzilla has only beaten Mechagodzilla on his own one time, in 1975, which was going to be his final movie plus he had already killed him in the last movie, knowing his weaknesses and learning his fighting style. In fact, Mechagodzilla is the only kaiju to legit kill Godzilla, in the Heisei era he did kill Godzilla, he destroyed his heart, only Rodan revived him, but yeah, he killed him no tricks, no team ups, no other kaiju has done that
Legendary Godzilla is badass and insanely strong, but so are the antagonists. It took Kong, Godzilla, humans, and a mystical amped battle axe from hollow earth to beat him, In my eyes the narrative is telling us he is the strongest.
I do however think Godzilla would win under water, and of course if he is in his burning state
I wonder if mecha Godzilla is just as fast underwater tho he was made to mimic Godzilla and man is rocket propelled
So you never seen Godzilla go to sleep at the end of 2014 in the middle of the city as he was shattered. The Oxygen destroyer depleted all his energy as well in KOTM. He clearly has energy levels and he used a lot before he fought MG.
"My opinion is that even if Godzilla was full strength he would have lost"
vs.
"I do however think Godzilla would win under water, and of course if he is in his burning state"
True mech is still better
That version of Godzilla that went nuclear against Ghidorah was over the top. It literally melted buildings so I'd have to believe it would reduce Mecha to nothing but ash.
But that version is with a lot of outside help. Mostly a Nuke directly to the face to charge him and Mothra adding their radiation to speed up Burning Mode before it could bleeding off. If we are allowing outside help than of course Godzilla would win but thats kind of not a 1v1
Thank for making this video chuck I love your Godzilla videos ❤️
Thank you very much!

Thermonuclear: haha metal me go brrrrrrrrnnnn
I’d really like to see a Destoryah powerscale
Fosho in my plans!
You all need to remember Godzilla doesn't give up ever.
Great analysis of it all and I agree to it all but there's a small key factor your mainly forgot to input it into the equation, if Kong didn't go to hollow earth then mech-G would still be scrapped metal and a wasted project, apart from the your whole aspect to this was spot on
Godzilla's atomic breath also looked like the 2014 version where it was weakened by the MUTO's during the beam lock.
Electric magnetic pulse
Hey Chuck love your vids, hope you read this, could you please make a video on Sauron and morgoth from the legendarium of Tolkien. Or the Valar and Mayar as a whole.
Okay so I haven’t watch the video yet. But I’m pretty sure that the reason Godzilla couldn’t beat MechaGodzilla by himself, is because Godzilla was tired after drilling a hole into the middle of the earth and fighting Kong. And Godzilla had no idea on who MechaGodzilla was because it’s not a real kaiju. So that’s why Godzilla wasn’t able to beat MechaGodzilla by himself.
Edit: btw MechaGodzilla knew who Godzilla was because it was king ghidorah aka monster zero controlling MechaGodzilla, so MechaGodzilla knew Godzilla’s weaknesses and attacks.
7:03
Although he probably has an excellent battle IQ, this is likely the King Gidora part of his mixed consciousness remembering his battles with Godzilla.
You can also compare the light that glows up on Godzillas dorsal plates are dimmer when he clashes breath with MechaG than how brighter it is compared to when he blasteed that hole to hollow earth
If Godzilla was not fighting Kong he would of beat mechagodzilla.
Haha nice joke
What the fluff u talking about.
Mech would win anyway
If he was fully charged and he wasn't fighting Kong and didn't use 50% of his energy he would of won
Still no
The director said godzilla is stronger, its literally confirmed
Are we going to forget the director of the literal movie said if Godzilla didn’t do the hollow earth thing he would have been able to beat mecha Godzilla
No, he didn't. All he said was that he was weakened in the fight.
@@Chuck on a different video it specifically says if Godzilla didn’t do the hollow earth thing he would’ve won
As I've always had to point out, he never said Godzilla would 100% win against MG.
@Dean, No, he didn't. There's a difference between "the fight would have gone differently/he might win" and "he would have won".
Optimas prime: u have no soul
Galvatron: thats why ihave no fear
4:03 This makes me wonder how Godzilla 2029 (pre-nuke) would fare against Kong 2021. This version of Godzilla seems to be representative of the power level of an average member of the species, so it would be an average Godzilla vs. an average Kong rather than a super powered Godzilla vs an average Kong.
It was confirmed by the creators that Mechagodzilla would've gotten ripped apart if Godzilla was fully rested, not even needing Kong
Read the pinned comment goober
Exactly, only in the first lightning strike, and please read the title and thumbnail of the video well and also read the pinned comment godzilla fan
Godzilla used enough of his Atomic Breath to drill a hole all the way to Hollow Earth.
A peak Godzilla would've overpowered and roasted Mechagodzilla at first shot.
Drilling a hole down to the Hollow Earth is obviously a very impressive feat, but that alone doesn't make a solid case for it being capable of one-shotting Mecha. Apex literally designed this thing to perfectly counter and defeat Godzilla. Do you not think they'd have gone an extra mile or two to ensure it would be able to withstand the primary weapon of what it's being constructed to kill?
@@yessir2048 Mechagodzilla easily got sliced apart with Kong's charged axe.
Let's low ball it and say the axe does twice the damage of Godzilla's Atomic Breath and Kong can rip MG appart after MG's durability is reduced to... 5%.
Kong's arm strength is 10% of Godzilla's Atomic Breath that drilled the hole to Hollow Earth? FUCK NO.
@@Fubukio It's an axe, being swung with all the force of Kong's strength, AND it was supercharged... of course it was able to slice through MechaGodzilla. Go heat the head of an axe and swing it at a tree, then try to slice through that same tree using only the source of the heat that you used for the axe. I think you'll find the outcome interesting.
The blunt force of the axe is what made the difference when it cut through MechaGodzilla. Godzilla's atomic breath obviously supercharged it and played a significant role in it seeing as Kong wasn't able to cut through with it prior, but it comes down to the fact that it's an axe in the end.
And even if we put that aside, do you seriously believe that MechaGodzilla would just stand still and let Godzilla blast him with his atomic breath long enough for it to cause that kind of damage? Agility was one of the most important factors in their fight, Godzilla couldn't beat MechaGodzilla because he couldn't hit him. He couldn't hit him because Mecha was designed for that very purpose, to be able to counter and be one step ahead of him in combat. That's why Kong WAS able to land shots when Godzilla wasn't.
@@yessir2048 Kong swung an uncharged axe and it bounced off Mechagodzilla's metal body. The reason why a charged axe can slice so easily cause Mechagodzilla's body can't handle the heat.
The axe vs. heat source against a tree argument doesn't really work unless you're using a heat source that can drill through things cause that's what Godzilla's Atomic Breath can do, heat sources like fire from a flamethrower can't.
As for Mechagodzilla's agility... I honestly don't know what you're talking about. Mechagodzilla's speed is similar to Godzilla's, plus some rocket boosters for boosting forward short distances. MG does not have the speed nor agile movement that Kong has, not even close, so aiming Atomic Breath at MG wouldn't be a problem at long distance, and since peak Godzilla can drill miles deep all the way into Hollow Earth, his peak Atomic Breath can easily overpower Mechagodzilla's beam, push it back and fatally cripple MG if not outright destroy it.
@@Fubukio The axe vs heat source argument 100% works. We can compare Godzilla's atomic breath to a modern day flamethrower. Obviously not in terms of power or output, but in functionality. The atomic breath and a flamethrower expell heat through an exit point and in both cases, they're used almost like projectiles. The difference that you mentioned, that a flamethrower can't drill directly through things, is only a difference because of the amount of force being used, not because of the way they operate. Technically speaking, if there was enough pressure being applied, a flamethrower could do the same thing. When an axe is used, the vast majority of force is concentrated to one specific area, and because of the axe's blade, obviously it's going to slice through effectively. Heat just being expelled directly isn't usually as concentrated, so the force gets spread out upon impact, causing less direct damage to any one specific spot but more damage overall due to the spreading of the force. So for Godzilla to be able to pierce Mecha, he'd need to be able to fire his atomic breath and maintain contact with it for at least a little bit. Could Godzilla's atomic breath do it under those circumstances? Of course it could. But are those circumstances likely? Logically speaking, no, they aren't.
Speed and agility are two completely different things. You can be slow and still be extremely agile. Mecha utilizes his rocket propellors in that fight to evade Godzilla's strikes and put himself in position to counter. That's literally what you see happening throughout the whole fight. On paper, you're absolutely right, Kong is much more agile than Mecha is, but what you seemingly keep forgetting to take into account is the fact that MechaGodzilla was b u i l t to counter Godzilla. His entire arsenal, every tool, every little detail, literally everything to do with that machine was designed with the intent of destroying Godzilla. Kong has superior generalized agility, against virtually any other opponent Kong would look more agile than Mecha would, but against Godzilla in particular, that's where Mecha's shines because that's what he was made for.
Awesome unbiased opinion! Really enjoyed this! Thanks!
I personally believe that mechagodzillas armor can handle the atomic breath for more than just a short burst atomic breath, since one of mechagodzilla creators said he can't handle a prolonged atomic breath not a long term atomic breath. Meaning mechagodzilla armor can hold for long periods but not too much exposure.
This is the power scaling we need
I think a fight between full power Godzilla and Mecha Godzilla would come down to the arena. On land Mecha Godzilla’s speed advantage would almost certainly be able to counter Godzilla’s atomic breath which is his win condition in this fight. In the water of Godzilla would become far more agile while Mecha Godzilla would like see a reduction in speed and mobility, this would be enough to give Godzilla the edge in my opinion.
in the next movie 🎥 🎥 there going to explain the origin of Monster's and kaiju and maybe they show us about Kong VS Godzilla war and that's a prediction
Without mention that the novel let it to one to decide if Ghidorah managed to absorb the memories and abilities from Ren if not use his body as the third head.
Wingard confirmed himself that godzilla wasnt 100% the whole movie and was tired after fighting kong for a whole night, godzilla slams.
Just because he said that doesn’t mean he slams. He never even said Godzilla would win easily all he said was that Godzilla was tired 🤦
@@Juve_Fan2601The director said godzilla is stronger, its literally confirmed

@majicogarcia8417 you trying to debate? Back yourself up
I do agree that MG does win even with Godzilla at full power because like we saw in KOTM and GvK, Godzilla really struggles against fast and agile opponents such as kong and ghidorah
Mecha claps regardless, but not without difficultly obviously just as you've stated
@ I smell a very distinct sent of bias
@@nottuhs5192 how when it’s logic based not bias based to say a full power Godzilla is winning
@@Aacezay The only thing Godzilla has going for him is his superior beam, that's literally it, figure out the rest it isn't hard.
@Neelak Sanyal Durability wise depends, MG21 took those axe hits like scratches, something Godzilla's skin may not be able to do. Strength wise is a bit confusing considering how both the designer and novelist have different sayings. Though I'd still consider MG21 too actually be physically stronger due to what we actually see instead of taking commentary.
@Neelak Sanyal The axe did hit Godzilla, but it didn't have time to actually sink in because of well, the damn explosion which is likely what knocked out Godzilla in the first place
*Mecha Godzilla casually sucking up the souls of the dead.*
It really depends, if MechaG gets energy from hollow earth then MechaG would in 10/10 battles but of it is controlled by human then Godzilla is most likely to win
Godzilla at full energy, or even just a bit more energy (ya know, a fight with Kong that doesn't involve blasting a hole through the earth.) , could easily beat this version of mechagodzilla. EVERY real Godzilla fan knows the more Godzilla uses his atomic breath the more weak he gets and then has to run back to the ocean to sleep for a day or whatever. We just watched him not only nearly kill Kong but he nearly killed Kong after using his breath to practically cut the earth in half. That's like majority of his energy gone right there. The perfect chance for even the weakest version of mechagodzilla to kill Godzilla.. when he is weak.. otherwise Godzillas breath would have easily overpowered mechagodzillas breath beam.. Godzilla at full power typically can beat any version of mechagodzilla made by humans.
NOW, Cyborg Alien mechagodzilla, the one from the 70s? The one with unlimited alien tech firepower that does severe damage to Godzilla, flight of up go Mach 3 while using that firepower, force fields where he can't be touched physically or by any ranged attacks, and space titanium armor that's impervious to Godzilla's breath all together a titanium that can't be destroyed only disassembled manually at the joints where the metal meets such as the head to the shoulders a metal where it's pretty much the equivalent of Marvel's Vibranium. That's a whole different story. Godzilla would easily die from that mechagodzilla and only won against him in the 70s because of plot armor.
Imagine if some random human cómes and nukes godzilla in the final battle against mecha
The most intelligent human even tho the protagonist would be dead
It’s like 2 people that ran a marathon having to run another one with people who haven’t done one that day
Yes. The god damn director confirmed that Godzilla would beat Mecha if he was at 100%

Depends on the story plot. Mechagodzilla was introduced between the fight of gvk. So mecha definitely would have an edge for team ups to be made.
Kong wasn't really about to die he had just got a super charge
Always got to love the mortal Kombat deception theme song in the background 🙏🙏🙏😁😁
Lmao who tf thinks this would be close if Godzilla wasn’t tired is a mecha Godzilla metal rider, it wasn’t stated Godzilla was 50% power while fighting Godzilla, they said Godzilla used 50% of his power in the hollow earth blast, this means than not only he was aldready at 50% in the Tokyo fight, but that he could still beamclash mecha g even after all the breathspamming against Kong(albeit he lost the beamclash) we can CLEARLY see in the beamclash Godzilla’s beam resembling his 2014 beam, it’s stated that his beam was HEAVELY nerfed by the mutos EMP. Godzilla would have DOMINATED the beamclash, also as stated in the video the designer himself said MG couldn’t last a long blast so this battle ends at the beamclash(maybe even before if Godzilla spams like against Kong) where Godzilla overpowers mg, mg gets blown back even worse than Godzilla did then as he has proven to be completely capable of he keeps the beam on MG even after MG gets blown away and he just destroys him.
I'll be honest man you had a great explanation but in my opinion Mecha G was fighting more like human boxer/wrestler
Will you do the death battle review for Goku black vs Reverse flash?
Remember when in Godzilla after shock, Godzilla lifted muto prime on his back and exploded his back? Could he just do that with mechaGodzilla? At least if he were to weaken him first?
If Godzilla can bust a giant hole through the planet into hollow earth with reserved power thereafter, then Godzilla at full power could more than likely own MechaG with atomic breath.
It’s called plot.
Godzilla won the fight in the ocean against Kong (human interference saved Kong from Godzilla drowning him) and Godzilla also won the fight in the city.
Kong even almost lost against a Warbat in the movie and the humans had to interfere with that one as well. They set it up nicely so it shows Godzilla being at nowhere near full strength against MechaG while giving Kong his shining moment in the movie.
If Big G was fully charged like during Mothra's healing scene where he was LITERALLY A PULSING ATOMIC BOMB, I don't think a Mecha G would survive. Plus I don't know what Mecha G is made out of, but it's safe to assume Godzilla was as hot as an atomic bomb. I won't say which or how much tons of tnt (you probably already know anyway considering the origins of Godzilla) but these temperatures can be as hot as the core of the sun for very brief periods. NOTHING can withstand that.
