Last note: Worst case scenario, if you contract Covid-19 and it turns into an extended fight for your life, your hospital bill can range anywhere from $73k-$100k if you're not covered by insurance.

I blame Trump for the rise in cases in the south. Despite all the protesting here in NYC, our corona cases have been going down, which I'm thankful for and acknowledge our luck - but the south isn't so lucky, and they're endangering themselves.
I blame _mostly_ him for the high death rate _across the country,_ but I agree; it's no coincidence that most of the politically red states are still virally red states.
I completely see where you're coming from, but I think your media is the real issue. Ultimately they're the reason he's in power, but they're also the ones minimalizing the impacts of this virus. NYers (probably) suffered early because it's so dense, but the people are smart, and I like your governor. A lot people are told by the media not to worry and just accept it, until, ofc, it happens to them.

It is. Luckily I'm an introvert also living in AZ. But the worse part is that I really want to go outside again. My legs are weakening because of this epidemic. The other worse part is that my parents are in the medical field and it could pass on to me.
@@MARUJYOU8088 , There are safe methods to go outdoors and train. Fairly safe activities include going to hike or trail running or mountain bike ride because there is large amount of space with relatively few people using that space. Basic idea is that if you can find a place with relatively few people and keep your distance to other then you have found a safe outdoor activity.
Too bad most indoor training facilities run in usual manners would be high risk. Example a gym would have people touching same devices with wet surfaces. Gyms would require much reduced simultaneous admission and disinfectants applied between each customer to reduce the infection risk. I doubt gyms would manage restrictions well enough to limit infection risk to a reasonable level.

Bianca B. - It would be similar. Europe didn’t do as well as South Korea (especially the UK), but have obviously done much better than the US, where an imposter is running the country.
Europe was initially hit harder, but Europe has flattened the curve much better and acted far more serious.

Now granted, Europe has more people than the USA, but well, Western Europe on the whole has down worse than the USA so far even when you adjust to population.
And I didn't vote for Trump, but if the reason that the USA is doing badly is Trump, why is it that almost all the deaths so far have been in places that didn't vote for him? I mean, it seems disingenuous to blame Trump for US deaths when in the USA states are responsible for local health measures and the President doesn't have the constitutional authority to enact them, much less blame Trump when most of the deaths have been in blue states and blue counties.

that's still ~140000 additional new deaths.
Europe has 859000 active cases
Which means probably ~60000 deaths.
Furthermore Europe has more than double the population of the us 741,4 million against 328,2 million.
last, sadly the number of daily new cases is rising in the US and luckily declining in Europe (except in russia) in the moment.

Also look at a map that shows population density in the US and compare that with a map that shows covid cases and you have the answer to your second question.

Currently every day 5.5k people die globally, so for the end of Sept. COVID would be worse than previous pandemic like asian flu, HK flu or Russian flu..

We've most likely already surpassed swine flu's actual death toll tbh it's not even comparable. Like there was no lockdown or economy breaking due to the flu like covid.

Love your videos but this one hurt my head to follow with two graphs running side by side and states falling in and out like they were.
I like most videos from Abacaba, but this time I totally agree on it too. That video was more like some video effects in the background for accompanying nice music.
I always watch in 0.75 of 0.5 speed for every video. Try that.
I like the quick blurbs about what is going on in each graph and explaining between the two graphs.

will you ever make another video comparing covid-19 with other pan/epidemics with updated data. They are really good :)
Next time, can you use two week rolling averages instead? It accounts for testing capabilities in different days of the week and my head hurts from the jumping bars.
The US has over 130,000 deaths. South Korea has less than 300.
The South Korean approach was to do testing with contact tracing, and the people wore masks. The US approach was to call the virus a hoax and predict it would soon "disappear like a miracle". Different countries, different leadership.

I can't get over how polished and clean your videos are. Did you program the software that creates these graphs?
It may be wise to focus on deaths, to better speak to the accusation that increased testing has led to a disproportionate spike in those countries doing more testing. Even deaths may be inaccurate but it is harder to deny that a spike in death rate is not real.
Arizona resident here. It's ridiculous how inactive our state government has been with our abnormally high cases. Our governor said 1 month ago that we were "on the other side" and his staff believed that our summer temps of ~110 °F would reduce cases; we were not, and it has not. Now, our governor is refusing to enact a statewide mandate on masks, leaving it up to the cities to pass legislation on this. This has only caused great confusion-for example, where I live, masks are not required, but where I work, they are in any public place. As a result, many people simply don't wear masks as the per-city legislation is inconsistent and poorly enforced. Please, if your state/region hasn't seen a significant uptick yet, stay at home when you can, *always* wear a mask in public, and petition your government to take action if they have not, or else this virus will catch up with you in a strong way.

There is a lag time between testing positive, having symptoms, requiring hospitalization and death, but no graph shows this correlation. So for sample could you slide the graph lines so that the number of new cases for June 1st appeared over the number of new hospitalization for June 22nd, which appeared over the number of new deaths for July 14th. This display would account for the time lag.

I've been to the US a total of two weeks and South Korea a grand total of never, so I could be completely wrong, but I feel like South Korea is a lot more urbanized, giving it a disadvantage against viruses compared to the United States, so you'd expect the US to be doing better per capita, all else being equal. Clearly, all else is not equal.
abacaba choose them first as their pandemic started in the same day (so no season excuses) and they are on the same geographic level (so no climate excuse). But nothing, definitely nothing else is equal. In SK there are no so many swarzes and latinos (ppl that have much slower VitD buildup), and they have much more previous experience, and they are following their own dreams, and not the money, and so on. Many differences on every level (technological, social, infrastructural, mental, biological, logical, cultural, ethnical, enviroinmental, economical, educational ... really every level).If you wish to put on fire the whole planet, you definitely will get the cows with you (as they are doing this for more than 200 years now). If you wish to stay and prosper, you will get eastern asians (with Vietnam the best winning country vs the CoVID19). There are different countries for different tasks.

In January and early February it looked like south korea was worse off, but in reality it was because America wasn't testing, so while America looked good at the beginning, all of those unreported cases caused the spike in us
to be honest: NJ was 2nd bad state until now. I understand you got this data some where else. but NJ was told we were 2nd bad state next to NY because NYC. I'm shocked to see NJ was lower placing during this whole time on this. my heart and prayers goes out TX,CA, AZ and other hard hit states. I live in NJ. and I know its very stressful and scary. please stay safe ,
