The cover no one asked for, but everyone needed.
well said barack obama
This is what I said about most of the Metallica Blacklist.
Exactly
I want *BLACKENED.*
Random Channel oh my god that would get my dick so hard
No, master of puppets is better, or seek and destroy
Between the buried and me cover blackened rather well I've been going on a cover binge
I wanna hear them do Lords of Summer sometime, or I could go with Frayed Ends! Before Lords, my favorite from Metallica was Frayed!
Random Metalhead
I now have to listen to BLACKENED
I'm a die hard Metallica fan, and I absolutely love this cover.
Elie Siegal same
Elie Siegal me too
Elie Siegal same here. I still think the original is better tho
+Andrew Surowiec A cover is not meant to be better, it's a tribute
no, a tribute is a tribute, a cover is too compete with the original song
I would love to hear the Jason's DIE MOTHERFUCKER DIE part in Corey's Iowa period voice. That would be epic at least.
holy shit yes
FUCK YEAHH
I have his pick used at the West palm beach amp theater on the Justice tour on this song its string cuts into the plastic are fxxkin deep.. He fueled them like a supercharger...
Taylor's voice was destined for metal music
his cover of Rainbow in the Dark is fucking glorious
my god can I hear the bass.
***** what?
Angel Rivera no, I actually can really hear the bass. It does seem pretty loud to me.
...And Justice For Jason is quite a remix, man. It completely reinvents the whole album. Any bass player gotta love it lol
I miss listening bass playing in nowadays mixing...
Good for this one!
...And Justice for Jason is horribly mixed. James Mason made a better job remixing the album, check him on yt
That bass playing is fucking majestic!
Fucking legendary!!!
Lars is still throwing a tantrum about it.
Holy shit, what a great cover! This was unexpected. Many people throw shit at Slipknot or Stone Sour, but seriously, Corey is a talented singer, you have to admit it wether you like the bands or not.
Nrik Jrz Corey is hands down the best metal singer imo...
Probably not the best metal singer, but he is indeed amazingly talented.
Nrik Jrz Yep, Ive always loved his vocals from back when I first heard him on the first Stone Sour album.
He is definitely the best
Whether*
It was written in the sky that there was gonna be fucking war in the comments. Slipknot fans vs metallica fans. I personally love both bands, and think they made a pretty good job on the cover. They kept the original feel of the song while Corey addeed his own little touch.
Stop the hate guys. Don't like it, don't listen to it, is all. Both bands are composed of great respectable artists that contributed way more than their share to the world of music. Let's thank em both and make sure their music live on!
Sephyr ArtCore I could never get into Metallica except for that one song that was in Zombieland. But I love this cover.
Sephyr ArtCore same here, i have seen two bands live and that is Slipknot and Metallica, i love both of them. ass someone said to me, they are my Justin Bieber.
Jonas Lund Hahaha!
Sephyr ArtCore Glad someone finally fucking said it. Both bands are legendary in my opinion. Metallica was amazing back then. Slipknot is amazing now, and so is Stone Sour. [IMO]. Not a lot of people will agree with that Stone Sour bit, but they've always had increasingly good potential and sound quality. But let's face it. Corey Taylor is a good artist, author, and, well, an okay actor. He's a talented person, that much is undeniable. One of the greatest that's come a long in years. We're lucky to have him as one of the main inspirations to all of the rock/metal music out there.
Sephyr ArtCore 'Composed of great respectable artists'.... and Lars Ulrich
Corey doesn't need to sound like James... He sounds perfect as himself...
@Snap your fingers snap your neck Haven't you listened to Unforgiven III or Day that never comes? he sounds amazing as a singer there.
@Snap your fingers snap your neck I know that he used to be better, he lost the grittiness in his voice, but he ain't a bad singer either imo
That bass tone is just so brutal....love it!!!
creeping death is IMO the best metal song ever
What tha fuck is a imo?
Sam Baker in my opinion
BeRoyal37 For me its Cowboys from Hell by Pantera ^^
Goat I may say the original version from JP but ... Hell yeah I agree! Painkiller is indeed, the best metal song ever.
This, Domination by Pantera, Painkiller by Judas Priest, or Angel of Death by Slayer are my nominations for best metal song ever.
I hoped for a "motherfucker die" at 4:05
Jaja yo tmb!
Jaz Diesel GET THIS !
***** Rob does that live
fngoodmusic78 But not like Jason.
Jaz Diesel it wouldn't have fit on this version
That bass is punching through and sounds beastly!
Adrian Regan dang right
All hail the mighty Cliff Burton and Paul Gray!!!
+Tom Flake Paul Gray???? LMAO!!!!!!
Shaun Soto Why not Paul Gray.
+Tom Flake because he's not in this band, pretty sure he was dead at the time too. I don't pay attention to stone sour or slipknot but I can make that assumption
+Termo VOLTAGE Gotcha. I just know Corey Taylor and Paul Gray were in Slipknot together. My comment had nothing to do with Stone Sour but the people in the band.
+Tom Flake Google before you post.
Corey is talented......haters are gonna hate.....fact
Facts!
The guy has a fantastic voice and he's really good on guitar too.
As a Metallica and Stone Sour/Slipknot fan i must say: This is amazing!!!!
Who would like to hear Sour Stone cover Fade to Black!?!?
bb948555 To ruin another good Metallica track?I'll pass.
Sabol Kralj Fuck off
NipplerFister Did I hurt your feelings?
Sabol Kralj No, But you can fuck off.
bb948555 That would be amazing in my opinion if they made it their own and really bring the raw emotion out of it.
Some covers I've heard just rips any and all emotion out of it and we basically get a plastic cover with no heart in it, I won't name any particular band because I rather not get 200+ replies of people raging that I don't like their favorite bands cover or original song and I'd rather not deal with, "O! Thy did it btter thn Stne Sur!!! Thy wre mre brutool!!!" when the song doesn't call for brutality but raw emotion.
If you want to hear an example of what I'm talking about just listen to some of the tribute albums that only have generic post-hardcore and metalcore bands on it, not hating on those genres because I actually like those styles.
I wouldn't mind metalcore bands if they used bands that actually put heart into the music instead of one of the bands that labels throw out without even checking to make sure they know more than, "Chug, chug, chug! (generic breakdown) Chug, chug, chug!" followed with lyrics you can tell were manufactured by the label to sell.
Just my two cents.Have a great day/night and rock on! \m/
My one year old twin girls go nuts when I put this on. Now that's approval stone sour
What about the original?
This is what a cover should be. No one putting their "new vision" for a song over a classic, but a band showing love for one of their favorites.
that's why I love Disturbed and their covers. They're pretty good with their covers and of course people praised them for inputting a new addition to their classics
Lockslie That's one opinion but some covers don't do this carbon copy, more polished, approach and have also easily outshone the originals: Hurt by Johnny Cash, Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley, Man Who Sold The World by Nirvana, Sonic Reducer from Hard Core Logo, So What by Metallica, Blitzkrieg by Metallica, Stone Cold Crazy by Metallica... See what did there?
Thank you, a cover that tries to be better than the original often is much worse. It's covers like these, ones meant to emphasize how good the original was, that are good. Like Trivium's cover of Master, or BFMV's cover of Sanitarium.
Lockslie check out Corey Taylor's cover of rainbow in the dark by Dio. the completely changed the solo, but it was badass
This is what a cover should be...FOR YOU! Don't forget!
I love the aggressive tone and presence of the bass guitar in this mix. Well done.
Totally fuckin' awesome, anything Corey touches turns to gold! \m/
You say that like Creeping Death wasn't gold already
No, it wasn't meant like that, Creeping Death is actually my favorite Metallica song... I just meant that some singers / bands out there don't always do a good job on covering classics, but Corey does things like that amazingly ;)
MaggotChrisReloaded there is no other vocalist that has the talent that Corey has, his voice in both Slipknot and Stone Sour is incredible, Corey is a legend
555maggot666 lol you really believe this shit? Mike Patton kills him.
tuulenkoti Mike Patton is shit compared to Corey
The bass is destroying my mind, love it
Cliff Burton didn't died....God called for Bass lessons
Haha best blasphemy ever
I love you for saying that man ;)
Iron Lord he fucking sucked tho
Excuse me?
He has taken so many great bassist he must be awesome by now
Corey Taylor never disappoints. He is one of the best vocalists ever !!
No, he is not 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@andreaserblin3205 opinions are funny things, wouldn't you say.
James Hetfield is my favorite singer of all time but damn Corey Taylor nailed this song
Yeah
Me too ❤
Who cares if you prefer this version or the original one?
It´s just a tribute. I love James Hetfield and Corey taylor both.
TheMentalita
I personally think Corey sounds better, but the original is still badass
@@demonguysayshi2666 Without a doubt he is better, Corey is a technically gifted singer and has worked hard to be one of the best and most versatile vocalists in the business. James is unique and good vocalist, I wouldn't put him in the same category as Corey, as they both have different aims in vocals, but James suits the tone of Metallica more, whereas Corey has too much projection for that tone, he needs the low-end that Metallica doesn't really have to stand out, otherwise it sounds off.
I would love to hear a version with both James and Corey on it.
Two of the best vocals in metal IMO.
is there anything Corey can't sing ????
love this one
jim van de velde Brutal Death??
***** No one knows...
jim van de velde He doesn't hit very high notes, but then, neither again can I. And I am not saying you need it to be good. Corey IS a great singer! Have you heard the cover of Rainbow In The Dark (Dio)
Phillip hanna ...if anything his vocals on this are more aggressive than the original vocals for this track.
theTYTAN3 pahuahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahah,nice joke.
Corey Taylor is definitely the truth on vocals I love everything he does
This is the best cover of this song I have ever heard bar none🔥
YEAH COREYYYYY!!!! God he's a talented singer
KBP effects? Ok...... but yeah he is really good singer
KPB*
Stone Sour should honestly do more Metallica covers cause this sounds amazing!
Damm Stone really does justice to this song!
RikuKH I think your thinking of an justice for all. This still album had cliff on it
Missing the "MOTHERFUCKER" from the end of the "Die" breakdown. 0/10 Would not listen again. (Kidding, the cover's fantastic....but Jason made it essential).
thumbs fucking up
Jason did not play Creeping Death originally. That was his predecessor and God , Cliff Burton.
+ITRIPPEDOVERTHELIVEFANTASTICANDITHURT Yeah, I'm aware. But I'm talking specifically about Jason's backing vocals regardless of who played in the band first or played the bass better.
+DashCat9 Live 1992 in San Diego. Fuck yeah!
+Mikhail Kruhlenko Saw them about half a dozen times with Jason and about half a dozen times without. Always a great show, but it hasn't been the same since he left.
Epic cover of an awesome song. This tribute is perfect and stay faithful to the original with Stone Sour style.
It's close, but the original is actually tuned to 444hz, about a quarter step above E standard.
One of the best metallica covers I've seen
I've never herad any cover of Metallica that's more epic than this!!! Fucking awesome!
Artashes Grigoryan Motorhead Whiplash, Primus The Thing That Should Not Be.
Limp bizkit sanitarium, bullet for my valentine master of puppets, korn one
Adam Travers He said "more epic" not "infinitely worse".
I didn't mention avril lavigne did I? So I avoid that one ;) Sebastian Lacroix
Artashes Grigoryan Sum 41 - Master of Puppets is pretty solid too, tbh.
here we have Corey Taylor from slipknot and he's singing about rainbows
Slipknot is nice.
I dont wanna go to rainbow land!
@HDFTW90219 who brought up Mushroomhead?
Eddie The Head how can you say horrible??
@@BFG-hv2ml it's something called "taste", maybe you've never heard of it?
This is an epic cover album. Corey can sing to any music whether it's Awesome covers, original Stone Sour music or Slipnot... They all KICK MAJOR ASS!!!!
My speaker......it just won't go any louder!!!! Dammit!!! This shit is awesome! Blew my mind. And for you critics on here, this is the original pace of the song. This is the definition of a perfect cover. Good job Corey
Corey....what a talented guy. I love the sound too.
Mind blowin' cover. Stone Sour definitely honored the Metal Gods of old and at the top of the Pantheon.H ave listened to it 4 times in a row. Rock on Stone Sour.🤘🤘🤘
Huge Metallica Fan Here, Corey Taylor is this generation's greatest vocalist
Jimmy The Clown sorry but i have to say that’s not true, the greatest by far is serj tankian, even though he lost his awesome vocals or he doesn’t want to sing metal anymore!
Knives. Yes that’s almost true but his voice can get a little annoying time after time (IMO) and the fact that he isn’t gonna stick to the genre that made him popular is why I think Corey Taylor is better :/
Nope. Mike Patton and Maynard James Keenan ftw
@@juniortavera weka sisosjrjdpdnejmekaup
@@NanoverseProductions fr, keenan is a better vocalist than Serj, as much as I love him
Звук бас-гитары просто убийственный 🤟
Holy damn, this is great. The drop in tuning makes it seem so much more... Metal. his voice just adds on to the badassery.
This is the original tempo of the song, nothing is slow.
Metallica plays faster live, but you kids wouldn't know that, would you?
Well it's not faster live really is it? Considering one of the most famous live versions in Moscow is over a minute longer than the original, but you ignorant fanboys wouldn't know that would you?
what the fuck is wrong with you
hamidou rais Nope. This is the same as the original
okay, thanks man
It is longer because they they do the whole die thing with the crowd, that section adds a lot of time..
OMG THIS IS THE MOST EPIC THING EVER!! I'd love to hear a Slipknot cover of Angel Of Death by Slayer
look up the Carnifex cover of angel of death its brutal they also covered the heretic anthem
I want Sanitarium
Also great cover, Corey's vocals are amazing.
Limp Bizkit lol
@@davidska29
Was thinking the same but didn't assume someone already did the trolling XD
pretty dope
now imagine if Corey sing this with Iowa's voice
Thats what i thought at least on the DIE part, at least i always imagine it on my mind hahaha
David Campos DDDDIIIIIIIIEEE
We need more Metallica covers from Stone Sour. This is great
cool cover !
wooooow!! is a fantastic performance..great sound and great voice..corey you are the best!!
bass is so loud..... I LOVE IT
one of the best covers i have ever listened to,along with the real me-wasp and you really got me-van halen
SLAP "Like" if you can hear the BASS
Under rated comment. S L A P like now, or it will remain so.
No davie
@@SROWilkerson smoll pp
I need bass
How is this not the most thumbed up comment on UA-cam???? People are truly deaf…. Or they have horrible taste in music XD
PERFECT tempo, PERFECT Sound, love it!!!
It was already gold.
Amazing cover, and very respectful to the original. It´s clear that the Stone Sour members are big Metallica fans.
Also, I have to admit that Corey impresses me everytime I listen to his vocals. He can sing powerful as this cover, growl or deliver mellow vocals in amazing ballads. He´s a beast of a singer.
Wow... The vocals here are amazing, same power as James, but I can understand more xD
The music is great, too. Love this cover!
Born and raised Metallica fan 👌 perfect 10/10
How in gods name have a never heard this until now?! This is fantastic. The production value alone is superb! And Corey’s singing does it justice. Man this is great. The guitar and drums are both super on point to the original as well. And the base...Jesus, it’s prominence makes me salivate! Very well done by the stone sour boys
Take No Prisioners could be a perfect cover by Corey.
agreed
of course megadeth!! (y)
Oh my god you are a genius man
Man EVERY COVER THEY DO sounds fkn amazing!!!! Keep it up Boys!!👍👍🤙
Early Metallica is like warm honey. And, this cover is perfection. The tones are spot on. And the bass player!!!
I love how loud the bass sounds!!
Great job on this one! Sorry, i've never been a fan of you guys - probably because i'm old lol - BUT I do have a new respect for you guys after hearing this almost perfectly note for note cover. Well done.
STONESOUR absolutely fuckin nailed it.AWSOME 💀😈 💀
love the bass tone
Best bass tone/mixing I've ever heard in metal, period
Well done, Gentlemen! You did the original version justice.
Why are some comments talking abut Jason's part in this song? He wasn't in the band 'til AJFA. 'Cause ya know, Cliff died after Master of Puppets. Unless they're talking about a live thing. Then I don't know since I only listen to the albums.
+Apollo Blackblood Definitely a live thing.
+Apollo Blackblood they are refereing to the fact that Jason added alot to this song live. doesnt matter that cliff was the better more talented bass player and writer because jason was amazing and badass live
+nappa sayian People underrate Jason, a lot. He had some really tricky shit on AJFA.
Great cover. Awesome how they added their style to a classic
Thanks for the upload guys. Great job \m/
Y'all should re-do Master Of Puppets, with Corey Taylor's scream.. oh my god.
stargazer _099
Not a scream per se, but I've covered the song before and adding extra rasp in certain places does make the song sound better.
Really Amazing!" (10/10) ⭐️
Stone Sour honored the metal gods of old and at the top of Pantheon. And holy sh*t out performed them. I didn't think it could be done. Rock on Stone Sour. Well done
Have listened to this four times in a row and am totally stunned and blown away. Very Bi**ching.
GREAAAAT!!!! Especially "So let it be written, so let it be done" part. Corey's voice here is fantastic!!!
Actually a lot better than I thought it'd be.
WOW, I'm not a big fan of Metallica covers, but this one is really kicking asses.... Respect for Corey beacouse of his vocal as allways.
Love the bass 🔊
Very Excellent Work, Gentlemen. You have great talent and respect, thank you
I keep waiting for jason newsed to sing the final chorus
That would be cool if he was on this track
Taylor Amazing Voice
identical riffs...real singer...LOVE it!!!
one of the best covers I have ever heard..tight as...
It's sad that people can't just learn to respect artists and what they do. Especially an artist like Corey Taylor. We don't have a lot of those artists around anymore. He's actually someone who cares about the music he makes, someone who tries his best with each track, and you can definitely hear it.
Awesome Talent
Corey Taylor
Corey never ceases to amaze me. Awesome job man. Great cover of a great song.
love it great cover
play this at x1.25 and it's like Metallica version but live
Good cover. Might have sounded a bit better if they played it faster.
hardrocknguy I agree, but that might be because we're spoiled by Metallica's live renditions. The studio version was played at the same speed.
hardrocknguy yes, it would be better if they play this at the same speed that Trivium played this in some shows, it was faster than this version..
HugoRBMarques true!
I agree!
hardrocknguy If you use Chrome, try changing the speed to 1.25. It distorts the sound a bit, but I guess it's closer to the result you're looking for.
seriously creeping death is my favorite metallica song. im actually impressed how good this is
I love the bass on that cover
Fk The 'tallica haters, really. You try to rock half as hard as they can for as long as they can, it takes a toll. The new album is solid. Death Magnetic was too. St. Anger was, well it had a few good songs. Load and Reload are some of my favs. And Justice will always be my favorite though as I believe at last count I had bought 10 cassettes and 5 cds to keep it in my collection. Sound track of my teen years :D
I absolutely think Corey Taylor is the best metal vocalist in the last 20 years, but NO ONE, BIGGER NO ONE, can make a classic Metallica song better.
This is a damn good cover yes, but not BETTER, but on level with original.
Corey killing vocals.
This is just downright awesome!!
This cover is just musical gold.
Can Corey Taylor please just cover every song in my itunes library? I want to see even more covers by Stone Sour, they do them really well haha Slipknot is my favorite band though, Corey is the common denominator.
