@@dinostacherules2728 Agreed completely. My parents have warmed up to metal over time because of me playing it, but they just can't do Slayer. They'll do a good amount of death metal, but Slayer still makes them uncomfortable. I've always said that they have an "evil vibe" that can't really be explained
Nice cover, and about the guitar solo...this is a very close interpretation, considering Kerry King solos. (play once in studio, never played again in the same way live...). The Jeff part, was very close, I just missed the last harmonic. The details are amazing, the double voices are correct, drums are very close to Dave Style (gong included). C'mon guys, this is not a easy thing to do, considering all the "Tribute" albums out there, this is an amazing version.
+Andres Moore actually when doing a cover, the point is not to sound exact, or else what's the point. if you really think about it, what are you trying to accomplish by sounding exact? although this cover was real good and sounded real the same... it's like at that point, that's when people start to critisize, which is what your doing right now. however imagine if the solos were different, what is there critisize? nothing cause it's different. it's their own way. I have my own band, and personally when i do a cover, i would rather be criticized on MY way of playing, and my tone, versus how i sound exact with the other band.
samuel santos my comment was about stone sour playing seasons. I agree with your point of view, maybe this is more a rendition than a cover, but its freaking close to the original, and very well played.
It's not bad by any means, but I do agree that I, too, was disappointed. But it's hard to cover, so all and all, he pulled it off pretty nicely, even if I expected more.
The problem is Tom Araya actually screamed this, so it's hard to actually pull off a good sound safely. As for screaming, Corey's screams are usually far heavier than what sounds good with slayer.

Amazing cover! "Seasons In The Abyss" is my favorite Slayer song of all time (and I'm not even a big fan of Slayer), so I got rather excited when I came across this, since Stone Sour's one of my fave bands and they've done great covers. I almost prefer this over the original! Almost because they're tied XD
+Vincent Medina I kinda agree with you. the cover is not bad, the instrumental is pretty fine, but the vocals sounds outta place. if he sang the way he does in slipknot I think it would've been better
+Filipe Beltrami Idk about that though because Tom's vocals are more high pitched than the vocals Corey does for Slipknot. I personally think that stone sour matched better, but thats just my opinion. I bet it would sound pretty sick though.
This cover is an excellent compliment to the original. Other bands ruin covers by dropping too low and trying to change the music to fit their style 100%. Great job. I like it.
My best friend mayla always covers this song she loves it.Of course shes a huge fan of corey taylor like i am. After her introducing me to stonesour im a fan of both bands now. I like the pace to this song & the lyrics so i can see why its her favorite song.
I doubted this, but holy shit, this is actually really fucking good, really accurate, brilliant sound, wow yeah, i can get behind this. Good job guys. Wicked, a brilliant tribute to the mighty Slayer from a superb band. What was i doubting? Awesome!
"Lithium" is a good track, but I think that "Breed" and or "School" would be a better fit for his vocal style... but then again he could go in the opposite direction and cover something like "Polly". ^__^ \m/
To everyone complaining about the vocals, corey is literally doing what Tom Araya is doing on tape. They're different vocalists, so they're going to sound different. As someone who takes a lot of vocal inspiration from Corey, I will tell you that Corey's rougher vocals wouldn't go well with slayer
+Betty Spaghetti Honestly, Tom is extremely monotonous. His greatest vocal part was his Halford scream in Angel Of Death. And Matt Drake of Evile actually sounds similar. Well... The closest I've seen. Like in the song Thrasher and Bathe In Blood
+Betty Spaghetti I love Slayer but Tom Araya can't sing at all hehe. He has even said that him self. As fare as my Slayer knowledge goes, it wasn't even intended that Tom should have been the singer.
Drescher1984 Vladislav Zolotov I never said Tom was a good "singer", but as far as his harrowing vocals go, Corey isn't able to match the intensity and the sheer pain that Tom has, especially with this song, which was Tom in his prime back in the 80s.
Betty Spaghetti I get what you're saying I think. Sort of how Phil Anselmo sort does his vocals. Not really for the singing, but that harsh and aggressive effect. I agree
+Vladislav Zolotov woah woah woah. yes phil's greatest attribute is his power and grit, but he is one of the best singers to ever live, dont forget that.
Actually it is a very good Slayer cover in Stone Sour style. Covers are always there to sound slightly different, that's what it makes it interesting to listen to. Personally, i like it.
I love all the metal elitist in the comments slagging this off. Okay Corey's vocals aren't quite on the same wavelength but the instruments are easily on par if not better. That's modern recording technology for you! We've really moved on from the whole "Les Paul into a Marshall = perfect tone" mind set. (I am aware that a Les Paul was probably not used in the original recording)
Wow, this is the best Stone Sour song. The original version is my favorite Slayer song. I still prefer the original, but, damn! You guys did a great job!
About as close as it could get to the original, minus the vocals though. Tom Araya adds a certain loudness to the vocal part of slayer's sound signature, making his singing style almost inimitable.
The process thru which stone comes out called Harpick(t)-Naieve, excellent work, Don't Know Jasshuua-Steve"RhodRigik-Stephana(Pan)" or may be due to Alice for his last concert in Jul,2017, in collaboration with Phill Coolen of Def Leppard. It's like Without any sound (Bina Dhoni). Festic "Pohora Bririrae"Festic.Memory of 75's Sheikh Mujib "Gono Dhoni" Dissappear.
all you butthurts complaining about Taylor's vocals need to stop. he obviously doesn't have the same voice Araya does so take it for what it's worth, which is a pretty solid cover.
So I can safely assume that you knew Jeff On a personal level then? Fucking jackass. He would be shaking his head at your dumb ass for being such an idiot.
The evil vibe is missing.. good cover though.
Sounds like a metallica black album cover
JeLQ
No one can recreat that vibe though
I like it way more than the original.

+Andres Moore Making a cover has nothing to do with making an exact copy of style or techniques... or the technical side in general.
+EximiusDux this cover? 100% to do with that.

+Andres Moore very true..I just hate that it's soo compressed..sounds too digital.
I think Corey killed it. Best cover I've ever heard.
Tight cover I just wished he would've sang it with anger like when he was with slipknot. I wanted him to go crazy like Henry rollins on it.
+Phillip Hill idk I liked it. I prefer slipknot Corey but somehow this worked for me.
from the drums, to the guitars. this has got to be by far the best Slayer cover song ever \m/
Kind of disappointed with the vocals. Corey should've done a more angrier approach. It's like slayer went glam vocally.
It's not bad by any means, but I do agree that I, too, was disappointed. But it's hard to cover, so all and all, he pulled it off pretty nicely, even if I expected more.
It’s funny because he’s the lead singer of slipknot also
Artan McManus everyone on planet earth fucking knows that
The problem is Tom Araya actually screamed this, so it's hard to actually pull off a good sound safely.
As for screaming, Corey's screams are usually far heavier than what sounds good with slayer.
Mayorga as usual, delivers 100%.....amazing drum tracks.
Andres Moore I’m gonna be really interested to see how he does with Hellyeah
Good Cover especially the drums...nailed it!!!!
Thank you guys so effing much. This was the album that turned me on and you couldn’t have done it better than SLAYER!
RIP JEFF HANIMAN….
This cover is the best Season In the Abyss cover ever
Razors edge
Outlines the dead
Incisions in my head
Anticipation the stimulation
To kill the exhilaration
Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die
Close your eyes
And forget your name
Step outside yourself
And let your thoughts drain
As you go insane... go insane
Innate seed
To watch you bleed
A demanding physical need
Desecrated eviscerated
Time perpetuated
Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die
Close your eyes
And forget your name
Step outside yourself
And let your thoughts drain
As you go insane... go insane
Inert flesh a bloody tomb
A decorated splatter brightens the room
An execution a sadist ritual
Mad intervals of mind residuals
Close your eyes
Look deep in your soul
Step outside yourself
And let your mind go
Frozen eyes stare deep in your mind as you die
Close your eyes
And forget your name
Step outside yourself
And let your thoughts drain
As you go insane... go insane
imagine if slipknot covered pantera’s the great southern trendkill or revolution is my name
I've since realised
Ya know, meaning since two years ago lmao
These guys did an amazing job on the guitars here
Critics suck. They Rock!!
Love this version! Even prefer it over the original, but that's because the singer did an amazing job. Good job all around, guys!
Way better than I expected.
my thoughts exactly 2021 🤘 slaaaaaayyyyyerrrrrr
It's funny how I just started loving this song then Stone Sour cover it...its fate...fucking love this
Damn their covers are awesome
awesome cover.. i was just waiting for vocals.. when i heard directly i pressed"Like" i really like thanks for the cover
Corey Taylor will say to his kids YOU LISTEN TO SLAYER AND YOU WILL LOVE IT, any metahead parents should say that to their kids, I would do the same 😃
jay42metalrockhead. i was disappointed by slayer live
you say loudwires video !! i guess??
@MC Crit What the fuck😂
This cover is spot on!
"I automatically hate it because it's that Slipknot guy and it's not real metal". ^
I bet it would sound pretty sick though.
spot on what? winger?
This cover is an excellent compliment to the original. Other bands ruin covers by dropping too low and trying to change the music to fit their style 100%. Great job. I like it.
What the fuck is with all this "Corey should have sounded like this or that"...call me crazy but i think they nailed it xd
My best friend mayla always covers this song she loves it.Of course shes a huge fan of corey taylor like i am. After her introducing me to stonesour im a fan of both bands now. I like the pace to this song & the lyrics so i can see why its her favorite song.

Much better than I was anticipating.
Loving the covers! Cover some more Metallica or maybe Lithium by Nirvana!
Yeah a cover from Nirvana would be nice!
"Lithium" is a good track, but I think that "Breed" and or "School" would be a better fit for his vocal style... but then again he could go in the opposite direction and cover something like "Polly". ^__^ \m/
+Chris Seljestad-Furúkawá true.btw have you ever heard Fear Factory's cover of School, its the last track on Archeytype and its AWESOME!!!!
They've covered creeping death
This one got me man perfectly done! One of my favorite tunes of all time. Fuck yeaa!!
They nailed it
To everyone complaining about the vocals, corey is literally doing what Tom Araya is doing on tape. They're different vocalists, so they're going to sound different. As someone who takes a lot of vocal inspiration from Corey, I will tell you that Corey's rougher vocals wouldn't go well with slayer
Solo was spot on
sensacional!!!!!
The Greatest Drum Cover ever Made!
nothing can replace Dave Lombardo
Good attempt, of course when you're attempting to match Tom Araya you're bound to fall short.

Please do a cover of Pantera's God Dam Electric.
This is amazing
Remarkable cover of my all time favorite Slayer song.
I think the drumming is superb..but lombardo is the best drummer ever!!!
Yes he is the same style I play
Sry, but I think Joey Jordison is better
But Gene Hoglan tho
Vinnie Coliuta?
Don't forget Pete "Commando" Sandoval.
Obra de arte metalera, este cover de Stone sour lml
Amazing!!
Actually it is a very good Slayer cover in Stone Sour style. Covers are always there to sound slightly different, that's what it makes it interesting to listen to. Personally, i like it.
Stone sour could cover Slipknot's Heretic Anthem
Youre aware Corey is the lead singer for Slipknot yeah?
+Apprentice Satan you're aware sarcasm exists, yeah?
+MrCheesenipboy
Mate, its the internet.Who knows if youre being sarcastic...
I don't think Corey could match the vocals..
The Cory now could never match the 2000 2001 Vocals
1:00 the bass disappeared. Even in the original version you can hear Tom's bass...
I love all the metal elitist in the comments slagging this off. Okay Corey's vocals aren't quite on the same wavelength but the instruments are easily on par if not better. That's modern recording technology for you! We've really moved on from the whole "Les Paul into a Marshall = perfect tone" mind set. impressive take on seasons,
different sound n more refined but still a thrompin good sound!
one o my fave Slayer tracks!
Roy Mayorga Nailed it
i want IN MY DARKEST HOUR
im ten seconds in and have goose bumps oh man bring it heavy boys
Sounds like Slayer if Stone Sour were Slayer
Wow, this is the best Stone Sour song. The original version is my favorite Slayer song. I still prefer the original, but, damn! You guys did a great job!
spot on!
epic beyond proportions
Wow this is really good
perfect cover
Amazing!
Great music cover. I love Corey but dude drop the vocal effects. Your voice is amazing without all the added fluff.
yup
He should've done this with Slipknot
+Sava Jevtić You couldn't be more right. All of them are fans of slayer and both bands are all friends too xD
Sava Jevtić True I think it would've been better with Slipknot.
Shayne Capps slipknot doesnt do covers. lol
Love this one 😱❤️
NO FUGGIN CLUE THEY COVERED THIS!! AND IT DAMN SURE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! 🤘💀🤘
About as close as it could get to the original, minus the vocals though. Tom Araya adds a certain loudness to the vocal part of slayer's sound signature, making his singing style almost inimitable.
Fuck yall on about? This cover is wicked!
Great cover!
Love this track so dam much! Seen Stone Sour live but never Slipknot!
awesome cover
Yeah 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Must say, they nailed that fucking intro
The process thru which stone comes out called Harpick(t)-Naieve, excellent work, Don't Know Jasshuua-Steve"RhodRigik-Stephana(Pan)" or may be due to Alice for his last concert in Jul,2017, in collaboration with Phill Coolen of Def Leppard. This is like if a boyband covered Slayer.
Excelent Cover :'3
severo cover!
It would be amazing for them to cover Tornado of Souls by Megadeth. PLEASE, I need this.
Corey has great harsh vocals, I don't know why he didn't use it in this song... Vocals here are too clean for a Slayer cover :(
Both are good singer's
awesome
This is actually good. 😊
this song should be played whenever shits about to go down.
The guitar tone is beautiful but I feel his vox are just a tad weak. Overall it's a really good cover.
Good job!
Freakin badass man!
bout time some respect shown 2 Metal 2 an from Metal xxx ahhh yeah gettin my pull !!!
Nice cover!!!
NICE
I love Stone Sour but when did Ozzy start singing for them.
Love this one!! \m/
not bad
I was literally listening to this song thinking "damn that would sound great with corey's voice" and then I googled it on a whim and whaddya know
all you butthurts complaining about Taylor's vocals need to stop. he obviously doesn't have the same voice Araya does so take it for what it's worth, which is a pretty solid cover.
Jeff Hanneman is shaking his head at this shit
So I can safely assume that you knew Jeff On a personal level then? Fucking jackass. He would be shaking his head at your dumb ass for being such an idiot.
By 'shaking his head' you mean getting whiplash?? lol
I don't think he'd care tbh
awesome cover, not one of slayers darker heavier songs but im sure corey could do those too, most gifted singer, ever.maggot 4 life.
Good cover guys
In 1990 when we saw A Slayer Video ( Seasons) on MTV at 330 in the afternoon, we were all worried they would sell out and go limp..Never happened..
The masked guy from slipknot sounds like the singer of stone sour...
la reprise, y a le feu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yaaaaaaaahhhh
When in doubt, Crank Slayer! \m/ 😎 \m/
I think they did a good job considering with what they had to work with. I mean come on, covering most Slayer songs is no easy task.
stone 🎶💕
I don't know this song and this is still awesome
SLAYERRR
strong as always
If I didn't know any better, I'd think it is their first day being evil.
