Kind of says a lot about how talented Corey is for me,many people disagree of course but for me he is a contender in every genre.He might not be a Paul Stanley,Ronnie James Dio,James Hetfield and many more but he definitely is one of a kind of this. generation.

Wow! I feel so old!!!! I bought the Kiss album, "Love Gun" back in 1977. I was only 8 years old, but still feel older than dirt! Stone Sour did the song justice!
I was around til the early 80s but I know how you feel hearing alot of classics being redone. Certain ones should be left alone but Stone Sour definately throws down serious justice on old favorites. Check out their covers of "Running Free" by Maiden, "Gimme Shelter" by the Stones, "Heading Out To The Highway" by Priest and even "Creeping Death" by Metallica. Might be up your alley too ;)

There's a huge difference between singing live on tour, and recording vocals in a studio...
In a studio, it's generally more laid back, he can put more effort into technique and breathing properly, not to mention he can take breaks between takes and do them over if he thought it wasn't good enough... And let's not forget post processing/production...
Meanwhile live, he has to entertain, his adrenaline is up, he's moving around, playing instruments, going back and forth with the crowd etc, he can't focus solely on technique, and he has to pace himself because he's playing other shows within a couple days to a week, so he can't put 100% in every show, otherwise he'd blow out his voice after the first couple shows and he'll sound like complete shit the rest of the tour because he didn't have enough time to heal fully before performing again... And so he only puts in moderate effort to save his voice... This happens to ALL touring vocalists, they take it easy when playing live and usually save their best vocal performance for the studio...
Because he's not human. The man is a vocal god, and the rest of the world better start recognizingit.

I don't know about all that. He is very good.
Corey Taylor is definitely great but you can't nobody else that kind of talent. Jonathan Davis, Maynard James Keenan, Sully Erna, Rob Zombie and Ivan Moody immediately come to mind as having a unique one of a kind voice that you can recognize right away. That in of itself is great talent.
Ya gotta admit.....for a guy that's had A LOT of damage on his voice singing for Slipknot....this is INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Probably my favorite cover they did. :)
Seth Frazer Hey does have a voice that doesn't quit. He is an awesome artist and musician. Stonesour and Slipnot are 2 of my favs for sure.
He also smokes a LOT! O-O if he didn't smoke, he would sound a LOT better. But still, I agree with you, he's fookin amazing in this! :D

I was really impressed with 2:55 and 3:15, I think he never hit notes like that before, or at least tried to sing that way on other albums, the closest note like that was one head voice note at sillyworld, but this was something unbelievable

I just read an article on the 'best' KISS tune covers. Holy crap what an audio trainwreck that was EXCEPT for this one. Well done, well done. I don't follow Stone Sour and have no idea about the members but the singer even sounded a bit like Paul. You guys did a great job with this and stayed pretty close to the original. Bravo. I should check out some of your own stuff.
I gotta say this about one of the other covers in that article though; white zombies cover of God of Thunder was so disgusting I had to go to you tube to comment but comments were turned off. I wonder why. LOL Gotta wonder how much KY they went through to have been allowed to record that disaster.
