I was going to purchase a Laveo toilet tonight and decided to hold off and look for other options after watching an other UA-cam video review stating that the reviewer tried calling the company, left voice messages and emails and has still never heard back from the company. This really worries me when there is no customer service after the sale. Has this been issue been resolved?
@@seanprolago9350 I’m not sure, but after having the laveo for about a year I am still a happy customer and never needed to call the company for anything! Hope this helps, but I love the toilet
Review pretty much sums it up. We’ve been using our Laveo dry flush toilet for 6 months now. Just carry it around in our Sprinter Cargo van for emergencies. It’s really made for limited use situations because each flush costs around $1.75 counting the cost of the cartridges, pee powder, shipping etc. You can use it multiple times for pee before flushing to get the cost per flush down to a more tolerable level. For day trips and short excursions it’s perfect. Not so much for long trips or full timing. You can use it for those kinds of uses if you take advantage of public bathrooms when available and limit the use to nighttime and emergencies. Even still the cost longterm may put you off. It has been perfect and reliable so far. Zero odor, clean and eliminates many of the negative downsides of other options like composting, chemical flush, Porta potty’s. Also you save a ton of water if your dry camping by not using a flush toilet. No more dumping a black tank or Porta putty. No cleaning out a composting toilet. It’s very convenient that way
Thank you so much for watching and giving your experience using the Laveo dry flush toilet! I apologize for the late response!! Very detailed comment, I appreciate it!! ❤️
Nope, all the plastic non degradable plastic products that are used are going offset all the good from "saving" water does. All that plastic garbage will never go away, and will pollute the environment forever!
What are the dimensions of storyteller shower basin? I believe it’s 16 inches wide 18 inches tall and 20 inches in depth! So one of the most compact toilets there is!
So the only recurring costs are the Mylar bag material which have about 17 flushes in them, I believe it is about 65 or $70 for the refill, but I think that may come with two packs. I’m not sure I can look it up when I get home. I think with most people using this system, they would mostly want to rely on public bathrooms or gym, bathrooms, and use this kind of more sparingly in cases of emergencies or if they want the luxury and don’t wanna leave their camper.
@@AntonMaroun - So… about $4 a poo. 💩 🤣 $2 if there are two packs in each. Depending on where, if you need to dump your tanks B/G and if you can’t find a free spot you’re spending $35-$100+ for the privilege. Life’s 🤬 expensive. I’m thinking that’s doable IF you get 2 packs. All I know is when ya gotta go, YA GOTTA GO! 🤣😳 Q. Are there any smells after use?
It’s not illegal, for the same reason we are allowed to throw baby diapers away in the trashcan, the only requirement is that human waste be thrown in plastic bags, in this case, it is a Mylar bag material that is also in a big black plastic bag that it comes with
a five or better yet a ten gallon bucket with a toilet seat and using plastic kitchen bags is the same idea , with far less cost - come on people think -
@@eric-c6x1b the only difference is that when you use a bucket like that it smells like crap, and with this you don’t smell a darn thing. luxury luxury… That’s like saying instead of buying a house you could just buy a tent and sleep outside it’s cheaper… It’s cheaper but definitely not as nice
@@eric-c6x1b that being said, you can also use a bucket and a trash bag, not dogging that, but each thing has its its place. And people have different preferences.
Same concept, but you'd have to throw that bag out ASAP otherwise the van would stink like shit... But hey if you're used to it from daily experience then no problem 😂😂
Hmmm you pee about 10 times per day ... so 10 bags per day? at that cost? If you flush maybe twice per day? What about the smell? Do the bags hold up? Doesn't sound like it'd be good for OFF-GRID camping.
No so you can pee 3 times per flush, and you use the pee powder to crystallize the liquid into a solid. The pee powder eliminates smell, and the Mylar bag eliminates the smell from going #2. It’s the perfect option for short off the grid spurts in terms of access to a trash can.
Ha ha ha!! Great to hear from you!, Heather! Seriously!! I had a lot going on life wise and it was getting tough to post on UA-cam, but now I’m finally getting back in a place where I would like to share again!!
Yes, but so is driving, and shopping, and flying anywhere, and also eating out. Everything can be considered “bad” environmentally. All in all this is not so bad Compared to a lot of other things.
Yep, and everything you do today is bad for the environment... using your electronics is bad, going to the bathroom is bad, driving your car is bad. Move on
I'm sorry, but for $2500 plus tax with the cartridges costing $41 for 15 flushes, I'm opting for the second option, a bucket, free groceries bags and a shovel. Here's the problem companies know that people who off-grid camp, fan life, etc. are desperate 4 options when it comes to waste, and they are taking advantage of us. You almost need to think on a small loan just to use the bathroom and to ask somebody for over $ 2500 dollars for a that box that takes batteries is highway robbery, insanity, and how dare you
@TheRubeeRose So based on my statement, would you say it was a fair statement. What's 2500 US dollars in Australia??? and maybe I'll just get an official quote
Honest and very good presentation. I am the President of Laveo and the price of the refills is going down in April.
Thank you for checking out this Video! Means a lot! I love the product! Would love to work with you guys one day!

How about reducing the price of the actual toilet? Paying a thousand dollars for a toilet is crazy!!!
I have received numerous emails and phone calls from both salespeople AND the president of the company. I will be purchasing one very soon!
New sub! I want this toilet! Thanks for the review! 😅

You answered the questions I’ve had. I’ve been wondering how much it can hold between flushes and if it’s good for full time.
Good review. Thanks Anton!
Daniel! Cousin, thank you for watching!!
Great review bro ❤
After a few uses and while you're driving or living in the van, does it smell or will the silver material lock in the smell
The Mylar bag material locks in the smell completely!!! vacuum seals it. It’s very nice!

Awesome!!
Thanks for the video, I've been trying to decide on off grid toilets and this was very helpful!

why does it go up first then spin seal? omg what if i dump 1000mm long and it come out
How much for the tefills
Can that fit in the Storyteller shower basin?

But is it legal to dispose of that mixture of poop and mylar in with ordinary waste?

Not legal in the UK
I was just in the website for the laveo dry flush in the UK.@loriAlessiroberts118
thank you!

Literally, basically this is where astronaut ice cream comes from.
I'm going to paint mine black too, good idea. The cream white is pretty ugly.
His was purchased in black. They also have blue
What we need to know is how you empty it
Reminds me of the "diaper genie"
Totally!!
It look good, but imagine this with a diverting system for pee, would be perfect
You don’t need a diverting system, that’s what the pee powder is for.
