Kudos to Eminent for sponsoring Matty and going against the grain by offering more bike for less!!! Having ridden with Matty at Trestle on his eminent the bike gets after it! (Matty is not bad either). Looking forward to see what this brand has in store for the future.
matty that eminent is cool i wish i had 3000 laying around i live on a budget being retired navy i dont have a lot of money but iam trying to swing it love the video
Whoa thanks Matty I never seen this bike Carbon with components for its price 3k with Bomber Z1 Enduro Bike 170/160mm. It is a steal this usually cost 5k
This was a great segment Matty. However just to note, and I'm sure you heard this already, TIRES. You're riding Enduro tires with soft compound and they grip like crazy but are typically slow. All the tech described in the video is so that a full suspension bike can climb more like a hardtail. Anti squat and anti rise doesn't exist in a hardtail. So don't think the Roscoe is slow. Its just a tire change away from greatness. Now as a Full Suspension, the Onset is a pretty sick bike :) Ive been around since the first Trek Marlin. Great to see the progress of the channel !
Man I just bought an Onset from Archer's Bikes in Prescott, Arizona this morning! First carbon full suspension bike for me. Really enjoying the ride, I just wish I'd known they were out of business before I bought one!
Our Onset has been out since 2019... and no issues of crackiing there. We use an extremely strong premium grade uni-directional carbon for all of our bikes (normally you can't get this level of carbon until you get up in the pricing area of an S-Works by Specialized or Yeti, for comparative examples). No tendencies of cracking there... we can attest to that!
Great Video... I like the price.. hope to get one... hope they still have the sale when I gots the money. I dont see to many new videos on this bike, I know your riding the Roscoe more:)
I was looking for a new bike back in June and I definitely would've looked more into these bikes If I had known about them, but there is pretty much no mention of them over here in the UK. That bike was inside my budget as well, I ended up getting a full carbon Intense Primer in a sale...Oh well maybe next time. :-)
Lots of good reviews on this bike. I checked out the price for a frame and fork and it was $1650. That really is a fantastic price considering most frames alone are 3 grand. Congratulations on the sponsorship Matty and thanks for the video. 👍
Haha nope! Still have my Roscoe at the top. I just think this bike is something special and wanted to share it with you guys and get it out there because it’s only 3k right now!
Sweet Price ... and just messing around .. can't wait for your next racing video.. your riding is already at a bad ass level.... glad to have been a witness to your journey ... 👊🏼
dude, don't buy a plastic bike!!!! carbon aint noth'in but renforced plastic!! you wreck it , it will break. i have seen too many carbon mt bikes get broken frames. i would not have any kind of carbon bike. everybody talks about how strong carbon is, but the bike shop guys are going around and saying stuff like , hey don' lean your bike against that bike , its carbon. or hey be real careful around that bike. its carbon. wtf!!! RULE #1 stay away from carbon
Hi, it sounds like you have been a bit misinformed. Most carbon bikes are far more than reinforced plastic, though the quality of the carbon and the structural design is very much dependent on the manufacture. I cannot speak for all bike brands, but we overbuild our carbon frames using only uni-directional carbon, laid up in ways to create an extra stiff and stronger frames than a majority of other manufactures. I spent almost two decades working in bikes shops, 10 years on the manufacturing side of the bike industry, and I can tell you from experience, that I have seen more broken aluminum frames than carbon frames. The majority of broken carbon frames come from crashes, and in those types of crashes, aluminum would also fail, or dent beyond it being structurally sound. When the bikes do break from impact, carbon can be repaired, where aluminum is only ready for recycling. We also offer crash replacement discounts on parts if you do crash and break them. I've been riding Onset for 4 years now all over the country, from bike parks to trail riding, east coast, west coast, Rocky Mountains to Sedona, Boot Leg Canyon to Durango, and during this time, I've done my fair share of crashing and the bike has taken a lot of rock impacts, with no structural damage. I've gotten loads of scratches, but now I install RideWrap before my first ride to keep the bike free from most scratches. In the end, it is up to the rider on what type of material they ride and the budget they have to spend on their bikes. In the bike world I live my rule, "don't knock it, till you've knocked it." Have a great day, and keep the rubber side down!
@@bikellama well, good story dude!! but plastic is plastic. take one look at at the sub implosion that caused the titanic sub crew to die. the carbon fiber hull imploaded under pressure. it went down on several excursions, and on this last one ,it imploaded. they said the carbon fiber burst under pressure. i do realize that our military uses carbon fiber a lot on the planes and jets. but i still don't like it. i will only use it on bike forks and seat post. you have to be real careful with it. it rides good4 sho. i just think of carbon fiber like fiber glass. it spider webs , and sometimes microscopically, so you cant tell its broken until it fails. I have seen carbon fiber handle bars break causing wrecks. no alloy bars would break. but thanks for your story. I don't trust carbon fiber. i ride steel. steel is for real. nothing beats the ride qaulity of steel. and you get a good steel frame bike, its bullet proof. But i am talking gravel and touring bikes here . not mt bikes.
Wow, Matty! It’s fun seeing something go from a hobby to a passion to a career.

Designed in the USA but not made
Stunning frame… You’re gonna get me kicked out the house with yet another n+1.

Matty Active + Eminent Cycles = Win Win
I have a PhD in Physics, and I approve of this formula

I still love the onset! I plan to make my next video about it!
They didn't tell you they were out of business?!?!?

That was an awesome Video Brother, you could go into to Broadcasting too when you start another Career down the Road........🤝🏾🇺🇸💪🏾👍🏾
Nice! I just got one and did a review of it from a bigger guys perspective.
Man if I had that money for the lowest spec I'd insta buy it just because of how it checks everything I have wished for a bike
Matty when you come to some South Florida Trails hit me up so I test the Eminent.
What are your thoughts on the intense 951 trail? They are a costco bike but they also sell them on their website.
I’ve heard great things about them
But I’ve never actually ridden an intense. They sell them at one of my local bike shops also and they love them
I was looking for a new bike back in June and I definitely would've looked more into these bikes If I had known about them, but there is pretty much no mention of them over here in the UK. That bike was inside my budget as well, I ended up getting a full carbon Intense Primer in a sale...Oh well maybe next time. :-)
Your Roscoe just got it's heart broken, hehe But seriously this is a nice bike, but I know your Roscoe 9 is your first love :)
Haha the Roscoe still has the top spot
This company went bust.

just goes to show how the bike companies rip consumers.
Thanks for video. Great job ❤
That rear brake setup is definitely different.. never seen that yet
How much does it weight
Sick bike! How much does it weigh ?
Awesome bike for sure! Around 32 pound’s depending on size and build.
Congratulations man!!!

I was at a independent lbs and they have a guy who's only job is repairing carbon frames!!
