I think that's the part that shows just how out of touch they are. Probably a byproduct of how RR markets Deadpool, not realizing it hinges on the audience at the end of the day b
@@xosrakateox that’s what’s crazy! He forgot that it was the fans of comic Deadpool that got enough attention put on the “leaked” script to get it made. Without them he’s still doing teen comedies and romcoms. And absolutely nowhere near his current status socially and monetarily.
@sweetsour4823 no matter what it wasn't started by Margot Robie and Cilian Murphy. They didn't start the double feature idea. It was a meme that they picked up on.
I think she wanted to do what her husband does Ryan Reynolds always plays the same character, the happy go lucky generic action man, because it’s easy to promote his whiskey brand afterwards He’s the comedian with the whiskey, he’s not even an actor anymore, his movies are in function of his products Like can you even remember one of the latest Ryan Reynolds movies that are not deadpool? They often are so generic is remarkable Blake tried to do the same but with the horrific decision of doing it with a movie about DV
In the UK there is not directors cut of the film. Eg Justins version. I only found out that there was a directors cut after and would have waited to watch that but its not available in the UK cinema, I reccomend you still watch it if you can access the directors cut or pay for it online, because it is Justin Baldonis project and I would support him. :)
@user-pb5jt6xk2m I will 100% find out where I can see it. Only Blake and Co's version is available in theatre where I live, South Africa. Id absolutely love to support Justin & see his vision bc he spoke with so much passion. Blake n Ryan really tainted this film.
The internet noticed it, compiled it, and brought attention to it! All these stuff has been out here all this time! It was about time for her to face it!
Idk I thought she was alright, but I always had a disdain for Ryan Reynolds. He seemed demonic and like a tryhard, just found out his wife is the exact same 💀
He HAD to hire a PR manager especially when “sources” leaked that she felt she was fat shamed and the kissing too long thing. Those allegations in itself could have been really bad for him. Turned out he asked the trainers her weight. He never asked her. He has a history of back problems so asking about her weight and training for it is absolutely valid. As for the kissing scene, there was a video that turns out she was directing that scene and telling him how she wanted that scene done. This whole thing is just messy. Honestly Blake was the wrong person to cast as Lily. They didn’t need Blake and by extension Ryan to make money on this movie booktok/gram/twit would have all come out for it.
It seems like she’s an opportunist who would gladly step over anyone to elevate herself. He is new to movie-making and she is jealous that it isn’t her or her husband. He totally hired the wrong woman who is in over her head, despite how famous she is.
Hahaha! I was also appalled at this comment. BL and RR thought they were saying something profound when in fact this is just the basics of having humanity!
she said that then and still isnt able to be a critical thinker herself after all this time... so now i highly doubt they will raise their kids like that. its all lip service.
18:30 Justin Baldoni isn’t an A-list actor because he was too busy inspiring other men to heal their toxic masculinity. check his podcast Man Enough, I’ve been following him for years and can attest to how authentically he’s been fighting and how this movie was supposed to be a stepping stone into the SAME DIRECTION !
But some egomaniac B-list actress had to come and ruin what Baldoni had perfectly planned. I'm so mad that a movie which could have spoken about such serious topic had to have this kind of ending full of controversies.
He also wrote about toxic masculinity and I just can't believe he was the problem. He seems to have so much self work. I also appreciated how he handled the making and filming of 5 feet apart and how he to this day talks about Claire and CF. I truly cannot wrap my head around him being problematic
@reshmashrestha5694 Agreed when it comes to toxic masculinity you always Want Men calling it out. It sucks that the when a man who actually seems to care about it is now being punished for it because the Female Lead cares more about her promoting her Brand than DV.
Just because the women all “sided” with Blake doesn’t say anything about Justin. Blake has more power and influence in Hollywood. You don’t want to cross her or Ryan, like the screenwriter complimenting Ryan’s rewrite without her knowledge or involvement when what he did is a cardinal sin in creative work and ownership.
The biggest issue was at the time the alleged re-writes happened, the writers strike was occurring. No rewrites were supposed to be happening at all, the only reason films were supposed to be progressing is if they already had an established script they were sticking to. RR going behind people’s backs and overriding the writers work was not only rude, but also violating the strike terms, thus the (substantiated) claims of them being scabs
Let's not forget she also promoted her brand Betty Booze ( a cocktail company) at the it ends wit us events. She had drinks inspired by the movie; like come on, alcohol at a movie about DV. Money hungry much.
Her stealing the movie low-key makes me rage. 💀 Why make it a romcom? To sell hair products and alcohol? What a joke. Justin's poster looks better too. Blake's poster shows how selfish she is.
To reach more people on this topic would a film that is more light or hard hitting bring more people into theaters? I know I don't want to go to theaters for sensitive topic or controversial issues - I'd rather wait and watch at home.
She tried to do what her husband always does If you notice Ryan Reynolds always plays the same character in every single movie he acts in now Just happy go lucky action protagonist, this because it’s perfect to also launch his products The Rock is doing a similar thing Both of them are not actors at this point, but products She tried to do this but without the happy go lucky action protagonist, so it looks so surreal to see her promoting herself while doing a movie about DV
@@eaglestown4609 Especially because none of these people are actually good actors. They can't be as committed to their craft as Meryl Streep or Leonardo DiCaprio can be, since poor things has no talent. So they have to become products, sell themselves based on their looks.
Blake and her co-Star bullying the interviewer is what did it for me. She’s just a nepo baby, rich girl who’s never been through any real hardship in her life. As a girl who has been bullied, I can’t stand with women who bring down other women like that. I hope this recent call out humbles Blake and how she treats people, it’s gross.
the fact that the only argument against Justin is a generalization of men while the arguments against Blake are literally her own words and actions makes it pretty damn clear who is in the wrong here
Yeah, the women at 39:30 was WILD for them opinions. Like, do you have any celebrities to use an examples for being "the worst perpetrators"? Wdym "men like Justin"? He seems like a man genuinely advocating for DV survivors and actually making a difference. It would be different if there was something he said or did to prove it but she literally just said "maybe he's a woman abuser" with no evidence of her claim. And if he was the problem, it would be creative differences on set, not him literally becoming an abuser.
Literally everything about Justin's version shows he "got" the material far more than Blake did. It's wild that only the most prominent and involved man in the project cared about the actual victims of domestic violence and actually put his money where his mouth is, while all the women involved basically dropped and abandoned both him and the victims and the entire message of the film.
He got it more than the actual writer. He acknowledged it as a serious topic. The writer uses DV as a cash grab having to add a "shock factor" to make her books "interesting"/"controversial"
Or she wanted the story to reach more people and softening the story does that? I know I def don't want to go to theaters for heavy hitting emotional or controversial pieces, I'd rather wait to watch at home.
As a Jewish woman, I always compare that using a plantation for a wedding venue is like using a concentration camp as a wedding venue. You would never use a concentration camp. So why would you use a plantation? It’s horrifying.
What an apt comparison! But I think a part of many things wrong with America - we pretty up the outside and never deal with the root problems. Cant let all those lush gardens and beautiful lanscaping and the dual staircase in the big house go to waste! It's just crying out for lining up 35 bridemaids for a photo. :(
Why was Ryan Reynolds writing a scene when he wasn’t a writer on the movie? This speaks volumes about what actually happened for me. Justin Baldoni was pushed around. He was disrespected by this powerhouse couple. Of course the rest of the cast would side with them or hurt their careers in the future. Blacklisted by Blake and Ryan. Especially Ryan. Justin has shown nothing but respect for the subject of the movie right from the start.
That reminds me of something Ryan Reynolds repeatedly mentioned during the promotion of The Voices, movie he was featured in: "Just because you're a beloved Hollywood celebrity, it doesn't mean you can't be a heartless sociopath behind the smile :) "
he should know. he must be talking about himself. he is a shrewd business guy who wields his good guy persona as both a weapon and a shield - as we can clearly see for that promo he did with his wife's co star and hugh jackman...
Barbenheimer worked because of public, it's natural. They weren't told to do it. If you have to tell people to do a Barbienheimer, you've already failed.
Also, the two movies had contrasting themes. One was bubbly and the other was a serious biopic. The marketing teams also worked together to focus on the contrasting themes while keeping the individuality of the movies intact. They didn't lie about the themes at all. But after watching the marketing fiasco of It Ends With Us, I was like "who came up with the idea to cross promote a DV movie and a Cheesy super hero movie?" Anyone with marketing knowledge knows it's a disaster.
It also worked really well because it was a way to bring in new audiences. Women went to Oppenheimer to appease their male counterparts and vice versa. It’s hard to force that ad you stated.
What?? I am a woman and was not interested in Barbie movie lol. Who would go for that garbage. Me and my husband enjoyed Oppenheimer. There was nothing in Barbie that drew me in. Yes the 2000s Barbie movies were better. So don't be like women went to appease their male counterparts or whatever. People irrespective of gender are interested in history@@relativexistence505
I actually have a solid theory for why some of the crew and actors sides with Blake: she was supposed to direct the sequel. They want to get hired again. Lol. Simple as that.
She's the producer so she's literally their boss. Even more so than the director, whoever is financing a movie gets the final say. Of course they're siding with her.
Justin is a co-producer and co-financed it, so… I think since CoHo and Blake are buddies, and CoHo is literally the author of the book, the cast sided with them thinking they’ll get more spotlight that way. Also maybe they wanted a chick flick like Blake and thought Justin’s darker vision wouldn’t bring them enough attention.
I think Lively's both bulletproof and utterly tone deaf. She's not going to get that she's the problem, and she will never understand why she's the problem, and if she were capable of understanding then she just wouldn't care. If you tried to explain it to her she'd just stick her fingers in her ears and repeat, 'La-la-la.'
True it feels like watching a dystopian movie of detached celebrities... But it's real life. 😅 She's creating / reinforcing a stereotype for celebrities at the "top."
she was because she felt too comfortable hiding behind her husband's reputation thinking he's untouchable because of how the public perceived him to be "the nice guy"...but we see through that as well
@@Itsbabygirltthere were articles in magazines about her and Leighton clashing on set but I liked the way Leighton handled it. She was basically like, we're coworkers and don't really hangout after work. Meanwhile Blake just gave a band-aid kinda answer to how she and her costars mainly Leighton got along.
she also called leighton a monkey in an interview. it was a mean-spirited joke that no one laughed at and you could see how much it hurt leighton’s feelings
@@gingermcmahon3479I’ve seen that clip and ahhh it’s so bad! She even had to say “It was a joke! Come on” after because no one was having it. Almost nothing makes me cringe as much as situations like that
Rom coms usually have disturbing subject matter especially when it comes to the false lead and very often just as bad as this. Everyone did this with Lessons in Chemistry, not a rom com but same target audience. She was almost certainly advertising it as she was contractually obliged to do, and if she had instead promoted it as a serious Own Voices trauma story, audiences would feel betrayed that it has tons of rom com tropes, except for book fans who know that is what it is.
True... But Justin wanted to direct it a certain way, he bought the rights, it was his vision. And he wanted to do something amazing with it. What woman wants to turn an important message to uplift women (she's a crown straightener apparently) into something casual. @@reesescreases
It irritates me how much Blake just decided that this was HER movie. She is an actress not a writer and director so, hijacking the production like that is such a weird, self-centered power grab. Rubs me the wrong way that an actor gets famous enough that they think they can step over anyone to get things their way
The plantation wedding soured me on them from the beginning. Just absolutely insensitive and horrifying. I'm Black and Jewish, so I've described it to non-Black people as if someone wanted to get married at Auschwitz because they liked the beautiful greenery it was surrounded by. People were t*rtured and m*rdered there. I appreciate their apology and donation, but how are you going to "raise your children as anti-racist, critical thinkers", when you couldn't even do that yourselves? It made everything coming out about them now completely unsurprising to me.
People (even in the comments) will justify slave plantations but will never justify places like Auschwitz’s even though they’re both places of torture and pain. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
Her major mistake was thinking she could ice him out like she did to that one reporter during that interview like the mean girl she is, then she thought because she was ryan's wife that she could manipulate this whole thing to make Justin look bad. But she didn't account with the fact that Justin truly is only out here trying to raise awareness about stuff like CF, he met Claire and then made a whole fucking movie about CF in her honor. He, to this day, talks about her and how she changed his life (five feet apart). Then he goes on to write and start a podcast about toxic masculinity and tries to help men with that shit because it not only hurts people around them but themselves (man enough) and then he decided to adapt this book becasue he wanted to help women get out of toxic relationships and show men that behavior like that isnt okay. Like sorry, blake, you may be married to Deadpool, but this man has done so much self work and dovocacy for you to paint him as something he is not. He has a history of compassion and kindness and even knows that while you act like a high school mean girl, he somehow rises above and keeps it pushing with respect

She based it off of a real situation her mother was in. So it’s really messy
Blake tries to be like Scarlett johansson and Taylor swift but she can never be them, no matter how much of a nepo baby she is (and has siblings that are actors but better reputations than her). I can't forgive Scarlett for playing an asian character in yellowface and stealing roles from asian women, but I can acknowledge that she is a well-known actress with a lot of fans. Taylor swift has her own problems as well, but she is at least business-savvy, talented in her musical craft, and has huge young female, queer, and progressive fanbases to keep her in check. Blake has none of that. All Blake has is her family connection (that most people don't even know about lol) and ryan reynolds.Reynolds. I know Taylor and Blake supposedly "friends", but honestly, seems like Blake is using Taylor since Blake was nowhere when Taylor was getting defamed by kanye and Kim kardashian.
for me, as a polish person, weddings at plantations sound suspiciously like wanting a wedding at Auschwitz or other camps like that which is mind-blowing.
Because not all plantations had slaves? Plus they have more history and purpose vs the entire point of a concentration camp was to irradicate another race. Your argument is like saying don't have a wedding on earth because at some point in history that spot had a death or injustice on it. Better not honeymoon in Egypt to see the pyramids right? 🙄
And "we like antebellum architecture" is such a lame excuse. Like, it's a wood-shingled square building with columns. You could throw a rock in any town built before 1900 and hit a building exactly like it.
Ya I never heard about them doing that till this video. When she first said they got married at a plantation I thought she meant a normal farm and maybe people just got offended because of the link between slaves and plantations but no they LITERALLY got married at historical slave plantation 😭
Oh wow!! I had no idea the screenwriter of the movie had given her own interview about writing that scene and how proud she was of it only for Blake to come out and say her husband re-wrote it. She must’ve been so blindsided!! That’s so unprofessional.
I get that they have money and connections...but Blake Lively was so toxic on this. Why would anyone even want to work with her when you know that she's just going to stab you in the back and steal your project?! Her and her husband's entitlement is breathtaking, really.
Her reciting the “crown straightener” statement is just so embarrassing. She is going out of her way to SAY she’s a great person rather than putting the energy into BEING a good person.
I feel sorry for the main actor of her last film Justin Baldoni who is the director of the film and holds the rights to adapt the book to the cinema. She acts he doesn't exist in a very disrespectfully and unprofessional way. As the film was hers. Very disrespectful this actress who wanted to take over his film he has been working for years. She and her husband did it. He talks about domestic violence, she's more about selling the film like Barbie with flowers and selling the beverage products and hair products along with the film's premiere. And the book writer selling nail polish and colouring books. The movie poster she produced ( her face and flowers), there isn't his name either. He is a class act, mature with high emotional inteligence. His interviews of the film are the best. In his interviews, he shows the reality of the film and speaks out against domestic violence very accurately.
I agree! I feel really bad for him, and i was surprised (in a good way) that he actually addresses the serious themes of the movie in interviews and on the movie poster
my homeroom teacher went to the same high school as ryan reynolds and told us that he was bullied by him so i’m not really surprised that everyone is realizing that he’s kind of a jerk
The poor screenwriter, she clearly HAD to say that she was thankful to Ryan (as if he is some great Christopher Nolan), otherwise she would never get another writing opportunity again.
Bottom line. Blake and the cast made the movie for money, Justin and the crew made it to save lives, to spread a message, and the art of making movies.
As someone who has back issues(permanent disability but gratefully, highly functioning), if I am an actor and my job in a scene is to carry a person, I want to how much they weigh so I may prepare and train appropriately for the scene, or, decipher if it is too risky. Asking for the weight of someone that I am supposed to carry in my role for an extended period is not “fat shaming”. I would ask the weight of man, woman or heavy object etc that I was expected to carry. People without lifelong back injuries do not understand this, or would never have to even consider the question (how self absorbed people are these days, jumping on defence and assuming everything is a personal attack). Obviously, I assume, and I HOPE, there was tact and explanation when enquiring about the weight of the female actor. That would be the only right way to enquire about this of course. How blessed those without injuries go about living their lives with no consideration for any physical activity they have to accomplish. Thankyou for the effort in your video 🙏🏻
Blake really wants a Barbie moment lol I'm so glad things went bad for her. Ryan and Blake are a very strange couple, and they really seem to be the same person. they talk the same and make the same jokes. we were tired of seeing them.
I remember how she turned up to Barbie screening. A little too overdressed. She was just a guest of a supporting actor in the movie. She should have dressed accordingly.
@@foxesofautumnDon't forget Scarlett johansson, the woman ryan was married to while having an affair with blake. Also, seems like blake felt threatened by isabella (the one who played young lily) because blake had 100% control over what isabella wore to rhe premiere instead of letting a professional stylist do that. Apparently, Justin was an executive producer of one of scarlett's movies, which could be one of the reasons why blake lashed out at him.
She can't act w/o producing..maybe because she's really not that good of an actor, the only way for her to still star in films is her u to produce and cast herself ..

I wish you would have addressed the fact that she also used this movie to promote her alcohol brand, all the while the DV perpetrator in this film is an alcoholic… that’s WAY more problematic to me than even the hair care cross promotion. It literally made me sick to see her name drinks after the characters. Who does that?!?!
I have always thought Blake thinks to highly of herself. I like Ryan but NO ONE is that "nice" really, you also don't get that rich by being nice, you hurt people and step on people on the way.
Boone Hall Plantation still has intact brick cabins that are called "slave street". How can you still claim ignorance when the horrible history is spelled out for you? Considering Blake's bullying and her total disregard for DV survivors through the marketing campaign, I'm pretty sure she simply didn't care.
Yeah, I'm not buying that they didn't know. There's no way that you don't hear the word plantation or see the stuff you mentioned at all during the process of renting it out. They knew.
Finally the masses are waking Up to overpaid famous people who are not inherently good cos they are rich / famous…. Many times is the opposite. … stop idolizing humans only cos they are famous!!! Judge their actions and character!!!
I agree that we all need to wake up and stop idolizing regular humans, any other human regardless of what they do for a living or how good they are at being human. However, they are getting paid in relation with the revenue they bring to the movie industry. If you entertain millions of people, that is worth something equivalent to the enjoyment and the amount of people who enjoy watching. That’s why they get paid millions of dollars for what they do. That’s why you see social media “starts” making a lot of money. Perhaps it will change someday, but that is the incentive of being in show business.
Even ignored the true talented Celine Dione or maybe because insecure of Celine’s great voice. I’ve never seen a singer worth a billion who couldn’t sing. But they have a big cult followers so that’s why.
I mean that swings the other way into not hating famous folks because of something they did or said one time. Like dont get me wrong people like jkr who are actively putting people in danger deserve it but to use a random example people still hate ariana grande for licking a donut one time and like… why do we care??? Why do we have so much energy for people who dont know us?
Scarlett johansson isn't even Ryan's first wife. His first wife was Alanis morrisnette. Wonder what happened there. Also, ryan and blake got married on a plantation. Yup Ryan is way over rated. He is funny but he also strikes me as a great actor and thats the face the public sees. The fact he went with such a toxic mean woman who is now his best friend speaks volumes about who he really is
She is a living, breathing ditzy blonde. I think Ryan instigated tension between Blake and Justin to ensure sparks didn’t fly onset because….he knows how that goes.
@@allys744 There are rumors that they both cheated on their partners before they got together. Maybe not on Justin's side, but I can see why Ryan would be insecure that something might happen.
I feel SO bad for Justin who spent literal years purchasing the rights, planning, and getting funding for this passion project of his, being asked to star in it due to his acting ability and devotion to this topic, only to be steam rolled by Blake (and unfortunately Ryan too) with their influence, money, bullying and entitlement. He was the director! The fact that Blake created so much conflict that it changed the creative control, the vision, the movie posters, even the writing of different scenes! Just shows what a controlling, entitled nightmare she must have been to attempt to work with and have just "act" a role in this film. I cant imagine the disappointed to have this passion project just turned into a nightmare by one overbearing crappy actress, I hope Justin has another opportunity that allows him to freely execute his vision and projects in the future, hes very talented.

Depictions of DV and other forms of ab*se must be handled with discretion, tact, respect and sensitivity. The book it is based on didn't do this, either. I'm honestly shocked it was given a film adaption, since Colleen Hoover's problematic, insensitive books have been very widely scrutinized for good reasons. Once Reynolds became a billionaire, that did change my perspective on him a lot.
Yeah. What she decided is crazy when you look at DV statistics and alcohol statistics. Like, how ignorant and awful of a human do you have to be, to ignore the huge DV point of the film you're promoting, and then ALSO promote alcohol. Here's a couple excerpts of studies I read: The 1st: "Research indicates that approximately 62% of assaults are linked to alcohol consumption. Alcohol can impair judgment, reduce inhibitions, and increase aggression, which can contribute to violent behaviors." And the 2nd: "13% of adult men had an alcohol use disorder compared with 9% of adult women." So, whether it's a man or woman- roughly 1 in 10 people are an alcoholic. And assuming the audience are as tone-deaf and oblivious and Blake, 10% of the audience would be enticed to drink. And of that 10%, 62% would assault their partners. Which, as the lead actress of a film, where her character is a DV victim, suffering and escaping from a DV situation.. you'd think she wouldn't. And yeah, this might sound like a lot of overthinking. But I guarantee that if you asked your friends whether they thought more alcoholics or sober people assaulted their partners, they'd say "alcoholics". It's just common sense. If someone's intoxicated, they'd have less restraint. *Why she thought that encouraging people to be intoxicated, in the same setting as "encouraging" people to flee intoxicated assailants is a fucking conundrum.* (I say "encourage" in quotes because she really isn't encourage DV awareness and supporting victims.)
Blake lost my regard when she bullied HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales. There are things you just don’t do if you have any semblance of manners. Bullying is first. Have the year you deserve, Blake.
I remember a lot of people, myself included, genuinely concerned about a royal cover-up (like trafficking or murder) when it was revealed that Princess Kate's picture was photoshopped. I am just happy that Kate is alive and being treated for her illness.
Why Catherine did a photoshop at the first place. Catherine herself is a bully . "They are just regular people" ... Actually they are not. And that is the problem. (Please do not encourage audiences to see them this way). Not with this amount of money, narrative control, industry control, Nepotism, etc. They are not regular people. And it's been lovely to see 'regular people' calling out Blakes bad behavior. Because in the past her status (not a regular person) shielded on-going bad behavior.
I think you misunderstood. They’re not regular people in the sense that they’re average people living non-celebrity lives. They’re just regular people in the sense that they’re human just like everyone else. They can be kind, mean, funny, rude, jerks and everything in between-they’re just people.

Tbh I never saw Blake as an it girl, she would come in and out of the spot light and show up with “nice” outfits, definitely not an it girl based on her acting career because she’s never been know to be a good actor.
I feel like I've heard people call out blake lively before but can't remember about what. It feels like every time she goes to a met gala, people suddenly forget all about her controversies
I think the writer was being gracious by thanking Ryan after finding out he meddled with it because she's fully aware of the power dynamics at play. She's not going to risk her career by going off in an interview about how unprofessional Ryan and Blake were to rewrite the scene behind her back. I find the whole thing pretty gross tbh. Ryan and Blake are using their positions to strong arm their way through.
I hope they recast the role of Lily for the sequel. Nobody wanted Blake to begin with and now she has proven to be extremely difficult and narcissistic. OMG, Blake is coming off as so shallow & insensitive. I love Justin's message & look forward to more of his films.
That lady is so right. I too have felt that Ryan is always in performance mode. He does not seem genuine at all. Also I don't like his eyes, you can tell he is a jerk. No wonder husband and wife get along well. Imagine being married in a place where people went through hell. Its such a bad vibe and energy that will make any normal person recoil. But not these two superficial jerks. Can't stand them anymore.
lol you’re right we’re staying on topic and calling her out for her behavior and lack of education and sensitivity to real life issues. i promise i know 😭 i just had to get it off my chest 🫶🏻
It’s clear to see she was a miscast, she isn’t right for a serious role. I’m not a fan but this amount of hate is crazyyyy. She’s obviously more suited to comedy….
I watched it ends with us because of Justin and Justin’s vision he directed it and it was done in a way that was respectful and not too graphic as I cannot watch violence in films. Justin was the director as well as the main character in the film he has the rights to both books ❤
While she's wrong for more than one thing, the way the internet does a 180 and starts hating on someone everyone seemed to adore yesterday gives me whiplash. No, she's not the devil incarnate, she's a flawed person you've put on a pedestal for some reason. Maybe this should teach us to not do it again.
No, what this teaches us is that everything eventually comes out. If you are a crappy person, you can’t just pretend to be a good person when it’s convenient for you. Actions have consequences and I’m glad people are finally able to see who the “perfect” celebrities they looked up to really are. No one is saying they must loose their platform all together but the public has the right to know who their idolizing.
Right? I feel like all this drama just brought more attention to the movie 🥴 I think it would've been better if people just dismissed the movie after the initial criticism and started promoting other books and movies about dv that are actually impactful. I saw this amazing italian movie about da/dv a few weeks ago called There's Still Tomorrow and it would be neat if people started discovering films like that instead of just latching onto this (in the grand scheme of things pretty insignificant) drama between hollywood people.
I've always hated hated and Ryan since their early days. Ryan is in the same level as The Rock. When you pay to see his films, you pay to see a product instead of a passionate actor. And Blake always had drama around being a bully since her gossip girl days.
Me too, @Alyssa-pv6ki .I also going to see Beetlejuice and looking forward to see Sonic The Hedgehog 3. This movie looks like a shitty romcom book instead of DV book
I went on a plantation tour in Louisiana (the Whitney was one of them) and it was such an emotional experience for me. After the tour, one YT woman actually complained that the tour talked too much about the slaves! I was shook. Edit to add I'm a fan of both Blake and Ryan but she has come out of this whole thing looking sus.
i will say, if the “fatshaming” incident happened as reported and we’re not missing anything… blake, girl, that isn’t fatshaming 😭 the way it’s described (and again, acknowledging that there could be more that isn’t reported) is the most innocuous exchange i could think of. asking the set trainer if you’re safe and in shape to lift a particular weight is completely normal even if he didn’t have a history of back problems, not only for his own safety but for blake’s as well. and how is he supposed to know if he’s good to go for her weight if he doesn’t know what that weight is? he didn’t even ask her directly, which could be considered rude, he asked the set trainer in the context of the set trainer doing their fucking job. i understand and sympathize with the fact that blake could just be uncomfortable with *any* discussion of her weight, regardless of the context, but that doesn’t make it fatshaming.
Lol no one cares that you judge someone just cause someone else they know did something dumb. It just say that you are keen to judge people without thinking twice. Bye no one cares.

Great thinking there
I think if she had taken that route it would have totally worked out
Yeah she wanted so bad her film to be lighthearted and fun, when it was a film of dark themes like DV

Ryan Reynolds always plays the same character, the happy go lucky generic action man, because it’s easy to promote his whiskey brand afterwards
He’s the comedian with the whiskey, he’s not even an actor anymore, his movies are in function of his products
Like can you even remember one of the latest Ryan Reynolds movies that are not deadpool? They often are so generic is remarkable
Blake tried to do the same but with the horrific decision of doing it with a movie about DV
The minute she uttered "grab your friends, wear your florals" I decided not to see this film in theatre.

How narcissistic making his back problems about her. Making the movie that’s supposed to be about DV about her hair care and alcohol line.

🎯🎯🎯
Yep. Ryan and Blake are actual SCABS. I have absolutely no respect for that.
i think a lot of women dont side with her. it's what her pr team wanna leak to get the traction going.
No it's not. This is very common on a movie set. Scripts are changed all the time and are rewritten or reworked. I'm surprised people don't know this.
And it’s been reported that Blake doesn’t even drink alcohol! Makes her seem phony and greedy.
And her new hair care line too!
From what I have read, it’s not alchohol. They are mocktails which are alcohol free
One drink was named after the abuser Ryle.
this is a textbook case study of what happens when no one in their pr team has the power to say no.
I know I don't want to go to theaters for sensitive topic or controversial issues - I'd rather wait and watch at home.

the fact that the only argument against Justin is a generalization of men while the arguments against Blake are literally her own words and actions makes it pretty damn clear who is in the wrong here
Well said!
The writer uses DV as a cash grab having to add a "shock factor" to make her books "interesting"/"controversial"
i don't think it's that wild (though definitely unfortunate) because blake has a LOT more influence in hollywood especially with ryan

What an apt comparison! But I think a part of many things wrong with America - we pretty up the outside and never deal with the root problems.
Wow. Sick
Pretty amazing that’s literally the exact same vibe I’ve always gotten from him

If you have to tell people to do a Barbienheimer, you've already failed.
Also, the two movies had contrasting themes. One was bubbly and the other was a serious biopic. The marketing teams also worked together to focus on the contrasting themes while keeping the individuality of the movies intact. They didn't lie about the themes at all. But after watching the marketing fiasco of It Ends With Us, I was like "who came up with the idea to cross promote a DV movie and a Cheesy super hero movie?" Justin is a co-producer and co-financed it, so… I think since CoHo and Blake are buddies, and CoHo is literally the author of the book, the cast sided with them thinking they’ll get more spotlight that way.
Her reciting the “crown straightener” statement is just so embarrassing. She is going out of her way to SAY she’s a great person rather than putting the energy into BEING a good person.
I have serious doubts that anyone even said that to her. Besides herself, of course
I feel like it’s an insult anyway. Like you think it’s your place to straighten other women’s crowns?? Na… she’s a micromanager… that’s what it means
Trump does the same thing..with his 'sir' stories
the hair care brand is so out of left field for me because her hair isn't even nice lol
This is so shady 😂
No because genuinely her hair has always been average at best.
Agreed. Always looks like it needs a hair mask
It has looked unkempt since gossip girl days.
Her hair always looks so frizzy! I would not use her products if they were free lol
I agree! I feel really bad for him, and i was surprised (in a good way) that he actually addresses the serious themes of the movie in interviews and on the movie poster
my homeroom teacher went to the same high school as ryan reynolds and told us that he was bullied by him so i’m not really surprised that everyone is realizing that he’s kind of a jerk
omg whatt
Two peas and a pod. This speaks volumes. No wonder he loves Blake so much. He is a pariah just like her.
That’s crazy
The poor screenwriter, she clearly HAD to say that she was thankful to Ryan (as if he is some great Christopher Nolan), otherwise she would never get another writing opportunity again.
B List actress bullying costars, journalists and fans for no reason sounds like a right of passage in Hollywood.
Let’s be honest: besides Gossip Girl, Blake’s acting is mid.
@@cherishoneal9108 even in gg, her acting is mid
Thanks for sharing!
And thanks for watching 😊
Blake really wants a Barbie moment lol I'm so glad things went bad for her. Ryan and Blake are a very strange couple, and they really seem to be the same person. they talk the same and make the same jokes. we were tired of seeing them.
I feel like the only person who really intimidates her professionally is Margot Robbie and it shows.
I remember how she turned up to Barbie screening. A little too overdressed. She was just a guest of a supporting actor in the movie. She should have dressed accordingly.
I felt this. She wanted in on the Barbie fever

It's called being bossy.
Imagine going into a fast food job and saying you can't work unless you pick what people order 😂😂. She can't act, and she can't even do the basics of her job without forcing herself into a place of control. She sounds insufferable to work with.
I think she’s a control freak. Which is what her being a crown straighter really means. She thinks she knows what’s best for everyone

Which tells you the guy is simping and the women are laughing behind his back how he is showing of what a good boy he is.
The hell is wrong with Lively she really read the book and script and all she took away from it all is flower shop?!?! bonkers
They knew.
Of course they knew, they are both educated. But it looked good on pictures 🤷♀️ unbelievable!
Finally the masses are waking
Up to overpaid famous people who are not inherently good cos they are rich / famous….

Why do we have so much energy for people who dont know us?
She is how you know Ryan Reynolds isn’t as cool as the Deadpool marketing makes out. He married that
Exactly
Both are same
He left his WIFE Scarlett Johanssen for that
Scarlett johansson isn't even Ryan's first wife. His first wife was Alanis morrisnette. Wonder what happened there. Also, ryan and blake got married on a plantation. [Correction: Alanis isn't his first wife but his first fiancee. What happened in that relationship that ryan scrubbed it off the internet?]
Yup Ryan is way over rated. He is funny but he also strikes me as a great actor and thats the face the public sees. The fact he went with such a toxic mean woman who is now his best friend speaks volumes about who he really is
She had her husband write the script during the writers’ strike :))) She had no respects to the writers
She is a living, breathing ditzy blonde. I think Ryan instigated tension between Blake and Justin to ensure sparks didn’t fly onset because….he knows how that goes.
I’m not sure if Ryan had a role in that considering that Justin has a family of his own, as does Blake.
i think he may not have instigated but certain went with it. better knowing your wife hates a good looking guy rather than gushing over him
That's how those two, Ryan and Blake, started their relationship....making of a movie.

Lol I love the cheeky TikTok in the beginning of this video
*Blake promoting The Green Mile* Hey guys!! Get all dressed up and strap yourself in for an ELECTRIFYING experience!
Also, let’s not forget, she said during a 73 questions video that the film she laughed at was The Shawshank Redemption
If true she’s disgusting.
Lol, not Shawshank the tearjerker
Depictions of DV and other forms of ab*se must be handled with discretion, tact, respect and sensitivity. The book it is based on didn't do this, either. I'm honestly shocked it was given a film adaption, since Colleen Hoover's problematic, insensitive books have been very widely scrutinized for good reasons.
Once Reynolds became a billionaire, that did change my perspective on him a lot.
Not only her hair care line, but also she promoted her alcohol brand. She even named a drink after the abuser in the movie.
No fucking way
Yeah. What she decided is crazy when you look at DV statistics and alcohol statistics. Like, how ignorant and awful of a human do you have to be, to ignore the huge DV point of the film you're promoting, and then ALSO promote alcohol.
Here's a couple excerpts of studies I read:
The 1st:
"Research indicates that approximately 62% of assaults are linked to alcohol consumption. Alcohol can impair judgment, reduce inhibitions, and increase aggression, which can contribute to violent behaviors."
And the 2nd:
"13% of adult men had an alcohol use disorder compared with 9% of adult women."
So, whether it's a man or woman- roughly 1 in 10 people are an alcoholic.
*Why she thought that encouraging people to be intoxicated, in the same setting as "encouraging" people to flee intoxicated assailants is a fucking conundrum.*
(I say "encourage" in quotes because she really isn't encourage DV awareness and supporting victims.)
Blake lost my regard when she bullied HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales. There are things you just don’t do if you have any semblance of manners. Bullying is first. Have the year you deserve, Blake.
It still blows my mind how she got away from that so unscathed!
We have proof on top of proof for everything that is said about Blake. her rude behavior, her not taking this serious. But all that's said about Justing is made up out of thin air or the fact that the Cast chose to be fotographed with Blake rather than him. Which could have been done purely for career purpose and not because they actually chose a side in this.
