- Slipknot again....these guys are insane. The number of band members really makes their music so full and enjoyable. This song "Yen" was no exception. Man, it was cool. We enjoyed it as usual. We probably should not have been drinking wine while reacting to this song because it calmed us down a bit. But, we still enjoyed it. There is nothing like hearing a good slipknot song.

I’m not sure how I feel about this guy saying people will say they’d “die for you” and it’s fake. SLIPKNOT is so personal that I can’t help but believe, YES. Corey Taylor would have died for whatever he believed in or loved. People ARE capable of dying for a cause. Originally I thought this song represented a Japanese soldier committing suicide before capture in WWII. Hence the name “YEN” which means currency in Japanese.
Slipknot didn't hit me for a long time.. Was a big Slayer fan in the late 80s, for example, wandered through many genres over the years - today I would say I just like "good music", if someone asks me. I liked the heaviness and whenever it was good for me, they switched to a melodic part/Corey's clean voice. That wasn't really my thing. I liked a few songs, no question. Then I saw the amazing performance at Waken 2022 on TV and, if I remember correctly, had heard the new song "The Dying Song" beforehand and later also "Yen"; which I found fantastic. The new CD was pre-ordered and also 2 older ones. As life goes sometimes... now I have a lot of "new" Slipknot songs to listen to. 😁 Really nice reaction 🖤🤘
