It was great that she could show us all through her collection. Much appreciated :) The little succulent near the end of your video is Crassula Ovata which is a type of Jade Plant, but this one goes by 'Hobbit', 'Gollum' or Shrek's Ears, depending on the locality. It's one of my personal favorites!
She does have a great collection. Great video, thanks for this!
Thanks for watching :)
Great tip on the tomato food, I had to listen 3 times to catch what she was saying. That garden is unreal!
Lyn has an amazing collection! I always enjoy watching her video's and it was nice seeing her collection from a different point of view. That's a really nice Golden Rattail she gave you and with a bud even! Such great energy with you two together.

You both have the sweetest souls! Watching this made me smile and want to have coffee with you both!
Haha
14:30 minutes of great happiness and laughter ! I hope to see you together in 2017. Both of you are always full of contagious energy.
What a brilliant idea to offer Lyn her very first orchid and Tillandsia.
If there ever is a life after death , I would like to become either a cactus 🌵 in Lyn's collection or a Cattleya in your greenhouse.!
I hope that many people will find your book under the Christmas tree 🌲 this year !
Thank you Rachel for brightening up my day with this very special but way too short video.
I wish you and your family a merry Christmas.
Thank you so much, Bettina. Wishing you and yours an amazing Christmas too.
Very fun video ! I have noticed that many orchid and plant lovers are always touching their plants, even cacti, which I find very surprising in Lyn's case !!! I'm sure the plants feel our love and grow better for it ! Happy holidays to you and your family and all plant lovers out there !
Yes, I was astonished at how fearless Lyn was around her cacti babies. Happy holidays to you and yours!
Enjoyed both this video and the one on lynne channel. great collab guys :)
Thank you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
What beautiful cactus and other plants wow .
Oh yes, deadly opuntias... I know the feeling, my clumsiness doesn't help around cacti. :D Great collaboration, it's fun to see you two together. Thanks for sharing, and happy holidays!
The funny thing about that apuntia is that Lyn only told me about it after I had squeezed around the back for a better shot. I was much more careful on the way out!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
It looks like your had a wonderful day. Happy Holidays Rachael.
Thank you, Gicu. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
So lovely to see you and Lyn together, I enjoyed this video greatly! You have both wonderful collections and seem like really adorable personalities! Sending lots of love from Athens, Greece. Marina~~~
Thank you, Marina, so great to hear from you.
You two were the most cutest gardener compilation - you both have such wonderful homes packed with the most gorgeous plants. I would take all of them. I used to have quite a spiky collection as a teenager but didn't bring them here ... now a wonderful flamed Schlumbergera followed me home (you can't do wrong with 1.79€ for a young plant COVERED in buds, can you?). What I really love is when people have plants they literally grew up with. I have a Phal at home that is now over 10 years and I hope she will accompany a good few years more. It is the same when you show us your orchid seedlings that are not quite seedlings anymore :D
And Lynn is such a positive person - although sometimes a bit overwhelming, but she always reminds me that there is more to life than worries, problems and crisis. She is a dear. But enough blabbering, sorry for the sermon :D
Dear Rachel, I wish you and your loved ones the most wonderful and peaceful christmas - and thanks for another gardening year you shared with us.
Best regards from Munich!
Thank you, Isabell, I love Lyn and her collection too and it was such a pleasure to visit. I love her positive attitude.
No, you can't go wrong for €1.79 (are you still dealing with single cents in Germany?).
Sending heaps of good Christmas wishes from Wexford to Munich. Have a wonderful time!
Yes, we do and it is an absolute nuisance >.
Wow how great 2 of my favorite UA-camr together I'm jealous
☺️
That was a great idea to meet up, I bet you guys had so much fun! Thanks for sharing.
The best fun. You should have come along too, Mary :)
I wish I could! Have a very Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Holy guacamole! Yes, she's addicted. But in a good way. NICE setup! Merry Christmas. :)
Lyn and I were partners in crime. We are kindred spirits :)
Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!
I enjoyed so much this video! It was so great that you visited Lyn, nice to see you together. Her collection is so fascinating and interesting. Oh, my mother had a cactus similar to the one at 11:58 in the video, and it was just like Lyn said. The little spines got stuck in our fingers and it was so difficult to remove them. :) So nice that Lyn gave you some cacti! They look beautiful!
Thank you for watching and coming along for the ride, Andrea. Lyn's collection is absolutely amazing and everything is grown so beautifully. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
Gardening at Douentza Thanks, Rachel! A very Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones too! 😊 🎄❤️
My mother too! I can't remember how often she had to dig out spines from my hand because my six-year-old self created a challenge "I can touch that without getting spiked" ... yeah, didn't work too well xD
Weren't you the difficult child!
so beautiful I love it
Great video! Thanks for sharing
Lyn is such a happy person.
She certainly is :)
Once, back in the seventies, I saw a microscope picture of an Opuntia glochid. Not only do they have needle sharp points, but the shaft is covered with barbs that point back like the barb on a fishhook. Once the tip penetrates your skin, the barbs prevent it from coming out, so it breaks off and keeps working its way deeper in. The worse part is that you don't get just one. They grow so close together that you get grabbed by five to ten at a time. They especially like to grab onto the soft skin on the back of your hand. The glochids are horrible, but the flowers are worth the irritation.
Isn't it wonderful how gardeners will spend months propagating plants just in order to have gifts to give when friends come visiting? Gardening is the most generous hobby in the world.
You are so right about the generosity of gardeners. It is completely true. Those barbs sound dangerous. It was really funny because Lyn mentioned how lethal they were only when i had squeezws through past them to get a better camera shot. I can tell you, I came out for carefully :D
Happy New Year!
ouch :O
Gardening at Douentza More like itch than ouch. They're not really painful, but they itch like crazy, and they wiggle when your hand brushes up against anything.
Thinking about this conversation. I found a very interesting website: wikihow.com/remove-cactus-needles it shows some ways to remove those little glochids that are so fine that you can barely see them as well as handling larger spines.
Thank you :)
That glue method is quite ingenious.
Awe it was great to see you guys together :) maybe you can get Lynn bit by the orchid bug. ..lol. I love her collection, it's funny but I seem to kill cacti...I think I baby them too much.
I'll have to see what I can do, Avril :)
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
I love her house!!!

Lyn is such a beautiful person
Yes, she really is.
I just found this video. Enjoyed so much! 🌵 I wonder how Lynn waters these? I am a beginner growing 🌵. I am looking for low maintenance plants. Great video.🌵👍
I am glad you liked the video. Lyn has her own channel you know, so feel free to visit. She has plenty of watering videos. Thanks for stopping by and happy growing.

+Gardening at Douentza
I have been subscribed to her various channels for a few years and found your video visit with her very entertaining. She seems like such a ray of sunshine... no wonder her plants thrive in her light. :-) 👍
Yes indeed :)
Hi I'm new to your channel. Lynn told me to check you out and I love your channel already 👍🏿
Thank you so much, Gale, and a big welcome to my channel. I hope you will find lots of interest here and wishing you a very happy Christmas.
She should check out Eulophia petersii if she hasn't got one already - one of the few desert orchids, grows just like a cactus!
Yes, a succulent orchid would be just perfect for Lyn :) Thank you.
Just watched Lyn's vid so I had to come over and sub to you :) Look forward to seeing more vids from yourself!!
Thank you for subbing and welcome to my channel. Hopefully there will be lots to detain you and have a very Happy Christmas.
I am so glad to see you had your hands full (camera), otherwise I would advise you: Take a pair of gloves or keep your hands in your pockets. lol. Lyn is an absolute doll and brave to raise these intimidating plants. Another piece of advice: When you girls get together, No wine for you. lol.
Haha. We did have such fun. We were high on tea with soya milk, not wine. I think Lyn's bubbly personality gives her a natural 'high'. Thanks for watching, Blanca.
Very nice exchange gifts!!!
Thank you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
Omg I remember this video like it was yesterday. I can’t believe it’s 5 years already. Where did the time go!? 😭
That was a lovely day and I enjoyed it so much. Lyn is the best!

Peyote..... is that night blooming also the flower 🌸
Sorry, not my collection!
hey! what is the name of the plant that shoots out a vine every year? around 10:44. Thank you!
Dioscorea elephantipes
Hi, Can you tell me the name of the cacti at 8:57 ? which looks like adult saguaro :)
Sorry, it's not my plant so I don't know.
if searched for that tomato fertilizer. Here in Belgium we don't have that brand. Do you know a brand for me that's the same but more common, sold in Belgium as well ? love from Belgium💝
Look for a water-soluble fertilizer with NPK ratios of 24-8-16 or 18-18-21.
@@GardeningatDouentza Goodmorning, i can't find these either here in Belgium 😨😰... They all have other NPK ... I googled NPK the numbers you advised, then there come some brands, but when i checked the NPK it weren't those numbers. grrrr hihi
Hey Avalon can you give me some cuttings ....
So nice to see this video again Rachel... Hope to meet you soon. You must come up to us here in Belfast and check out our polytunnel.
:-)
Thanks, Hans. That would be great :)
